Even More New KOA Campgrounds To Visit in 2020


Every year, new campgrounds join the Kampgrounds of America Family of Campgrounds bring more great camping experiences to United States and Canada. This year’s KOA Directory features over 500 KOA campgrounds for you to visit including 14 brand new locations throughout North America. Mt. Gilead / Mid-Ohio KOA

It’s easy to make special memories at this brand new KOA! Family fun begins at the campground, with the heated, zero-entry pool (under construction in the summer of 2020), putting green, Jumping Pillow, and playground. Getting set up is easy with spacious full-hookup Pull Thru RV Sites and comfortable Deluxe Cabins. Enjoy a local wine at the campground or head out to explore the areas wineries. Minutes awa, at Mt. Gilead State Park, you can hike along wooded trails or fish in two lakes. Enjoy the region’s scenic Amish farms tucked among rolling back roads. Just 16 miles away, the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course offers a variety of motorsport action, including NASCAR, IndyCar Series and motorcycle events. Columbus is about 45 minutes away, home to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, COSI (Center of Science and Industry), Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, dining, shopping, and many events on the Ohio State University campus.

Corpus Christi KOA

Waterfront RV Sites? Yes, please! Enjoy sweeping bay front views of the Laguna Madre right from your spacious, full-hookup RV Sites. Whats even better is that at the Corpus Christi KOA, no matter where you pull in you’ll be sure to find a beautiful, waterfront view that makes this one of the more unique camping experiences. Raystown Lake / Saxton KOA

If a mountain retreat near the lake is what you are looking for, you’ve come to the right campground. Raystown Lake / Saxton KOA is nestled in the Allegheny Mountains just minutes from Raystown Lake. This 25 mile-long lake offers lots of opportunities for water fun. This KOA offers RV Sites, Deluxe Cabins and Tent Sites among beautiful, mature shade trees and meadows. If you’re thinking camping, you’re probably envisioning a campground just like this.  On the campground you’ll also find a swimming pool, game room, play area, boat/jet ski parking (for that lake nearby), laundry area, as well as a handicap-friendly, unisex bathhouse. With fun both off and on the campground, you’ll want to add this new KOA to your list.

Ogallala KOA Journey

If you’re road tripping through Nebraksa, you’ll want to stop at this KOA conveniently located just off I-80. The Ogallala KOA Journey offers travelers an easy stop with clean restrooms, bright laundry facilities, and welcoming staff at your service. Give fido a break at Kamp K9. Or take him to explore nearby Lake McConaughy, which offers fishing, boating, and lots of sandy beaches perfect for an afternoon of relaxation. If history is your thing, take the time to stroll Nebraska’s Cowboy Capital, Ogallala. The end of the Great Western Trail it’s the perfect spot to pull-in and kickback on your own journeys.

Carrollton KOA

Looking for a relaxing campground with lots to explore nearby? The Carrollton KOA, located in Ohio, is the spot for you. Try your hand at fishing or rent a boat for a leisurely cruise on nearby Atwood or Leesville Lakes. A scenic 30-minute drive will take you to Canton, home of  The Pro Football Hall of Fame and numerous restaurants and shopping. Or take a short west drive to the historic village of Zoar for horseback riding or mountain biking. A little further west will take you to the heart of Ohio’s Amish country, the second largest Amish community in the U.S. Back on the campground, enjoy shaded RV Sites or check-in to a Deluxe Cabin. Take a dip in the pool to relax before you next big adventure.

Cotulla / Nueces River KOA

Originally built by legendary brothers Paul and Bill Cotulla in 1975, this award winning KOA campground is alive with history and excitement. Texas longhorns once sipped from the spring-fed gravel quarries on the north side of the ranch, which now offers excellent bass fishing. Splash away in the crystal clear swimming pool with friends or spend an afternoon exploring the expansive 73 acre property. A variety of Tent Sites, Deluxe Cabins and plenty of Pull Thru RV Sites offer something for all your camping needs. The campground also offers a children’s playground, tetherball, volleyball, horseshoes and movies in the clubhouse. Let Sparky run free with all his furry friends at the massive Kamp K9. Grayville / I-64 KOA

Featuring a unique, western theme, the Grayville / I-64 KOA is a complete recreation facility with convenient RV Sites, Deluxe Cabins, and Tent Sites. If you’re an RVer, you’ll love the nearly 100 foot long long, full-hookup sites. And we’re sure every camper will enjoy everything to see and do at this one-of-a-kind camping destination. On site you’ll find a restaurant and bar, playground, 27 hole miniature golf course, mechanical shooting gallery, ice cream shop, and a dance hall and pavilion. We’re out of breath just typing that!

Blue Ridge / Toccoa River KOA

The Toccoa River tumbles down from the Blue Ridge Mountains, flows into Lake Blue Ridge and then right past this scenic, new-build KOA. Settle in with your choice of spacious sites, all with full hookups and free Wi-Fi. There’s a pool for your enjoyment, a pavilion for group get-togethers and a Kamp K9 for your furry travel companions. You’ll find plenty of room to roam while being conveniently close to the new campus of the University of North Georgia. Rivers, lakes and mountains all converge in the area, giving you boundless opportunities for recreation. Pick apples at nearby orchards or discover the unique shops, craft breweries and wineries of historic communities like Blue Ridge, McCaysville, Copperhill, and Murphy.

Commerce / Athens KOA

Commerce KOA is a newly reorganized and renovated campground located in beautiful Commerce, Georgia. Amenities at this KOA include upgraded sites, a new office and camp store for all your needs as well as a Kamp K9 for furry friends to run off-leash. Kids and adults a like will enjoy sports and activity options, playground, and a relaxing swimming pool.  A security gate offers extra safety and peace of mind. Not an RVer?
