The Heceta Head Lighthouse and Light Keeper's house are circa 1894. Both are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The lighthouse is a working lighthouse. From a height of 205 feet above the ocean, its "first order" Fresnel lens casts it's beams some 21 miles out to sea. It is the brightest light on the Oregon coast. It is said to be the most photographed lighthouse in the United States.

Unique Dining Options

At home in an elegant brick building in the heart of downtown, Brix's warm and casual interior is a welcoming spot to enjoy a diverse menu; choose from steaks, seafood, burgers and pastas with a full bar, craft beer and a very respectable wine list. Whether it's date night or you simply want to treat yourself, dinner at True Kitchen + Bar is a great choice; the “social” appetizers, like truffled mac, don't have to be shared and the pistachio pesto primavera is photo-worthy. While it's true The Parrot House has been recently renovated, it offers a charming restaurant, housed in a picturesque 1891 residence,  the chef will satisfy all your locavore cravings (be sure to ask about the ghost stories!).
