Set in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, and in the heart of Cherokee tribal country, the Cherokee KOA boasts 360-degree views of the mountains. This family campground is bordered on one side by the serene Raven Fork River and on the other side by three tribal trout ponds, so bring your rod and reel for some great fishing! This is a great base camp to enjoy a Smoky Mountain vacation, close to all the action; enjoy a scenic drive of the Blue Ridge Mountains, take a trip over to the Harrah's Cherokee Casino, or head to visit the local artisan shops. Just one hour to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and an hour east of Asheville and the Biltmore House and Garden.
A wonderful family vacation destination, the Cherokee KOA has summertime activities for kids of all ages organized by our activities director. If that isn't enough, there are plenty of activities not far from the campground: horseback riding, tubing rentals, zipline canopy tours, whitewater rafting, The Museum of Cherokee Indians, Oconaluftee Indian Village and Reenactment of the Trail of Tears. Shuttle service is available May 27 to Sept 2nd.
Driving a Big Rig? With 50 amp service and 136-foot pull-throughs available on some sites, you'll love our campground's easy access. NO RV? No problem. Try our Deluxe Cabins, they are the perfect fit for anyone who likes a little less "roughing it" in their camping experience. Equipped with dishes, cookware, and linens. The Deluxe Cabin is where luxury meets convenience.
Traveling with pets? We are a dog-friendly campground, take fido over to the island pet walk or rent a kennel to board him for the day while you explore everything Cherokee KOA has to offer. Speaking of creature comforts, relax in either our indoor or outdoor pool or hot tubs, then go enjoy a family-oriented film under the stars, with freshly-popped popcorn. We love to host groups such as family reunions, student groups, church retreats, scouts and clubs, with 400 campsites, pavilions, a plaza and its own fleet of vans, this KOA is ideal for even the biggest group gatherings.
