The Aransas National Wildlife Refuge is a 115,324-acre protected area situated on the southwest side of San Antonio Bay along the Gulf Coast of the U.S. state of Texas. It was established by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on December 12, 1936, as a refuge and breeding ground for birds and other wildlife.
