June 23, 2015

The Northwest U.S. is an outdoors lovers’ paradise, especially for campers. There are a lot of amazing camping opportunities to spend time at in the Northwest with beautiful beaches, great hiking trails, and plenty of fun events and activities for everyone.

Hopefully this Northwest U.S. camping guide will help you discover a new favorite camping destination and lead to many memorable moments!

Cape Disappointment State Park, Washington

Despite the unfortunate name, Cape Disappointment State Park will not leave you feeling that way at all. This beautiful 1882-acre state park has over 27 miles of beaches that are perfect for fishing, clamming, or simply walking along to enjoy the scenery. (Insider hint: campsites 104 and 105 have incredible beach access). The nearby town of Ilwaco, Washington holds a lot of great events throughout the year. Check out the Saturday Market at the Port of Ilwaco for fresh produce, local arts and crafts, and live entertainment.

Second Beach, Olympic National Park, Washington

The popular Second Beach located in Olympic National Park is the perfect camping destination for beach lovers. You can pitch your tent right on the beach. Expect to see seals and bald eagles among many other types of beautiful wildlife. The distant views of the spire-shaped islands known as the Quillayute Needles makes for an incredible sight as the sun goes down too!

Silver Falls State Park, Oregon

The lovely Silver Falls State Park in Oregon is a great camping destination — especially if you are a fan of waterfalls. Located in the Cascade Mountains, this state park has beauty around every curve. The Trail of the Tens is the most popular attraction here and lures photographers and hikers alike. You’ll be amazed by the towering Douglas fir trees that surround the trail. In addition to that trail, there are a wide range of other outdoor recreational activities to enjoy. Hiking behind a waterfall will be an experience you won’t soon forget.
