The Outer Banks: Cape Hatteras, North Carolina
The Outer Banks chain of barrier islands is one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in the country, and Cape Hatteras sits at the heart of it. This narrow ribbon of sand juts farther into the Atlantic than any other point on the Eastern Seaboard.

When you first drive up to Lake Tahoe and take a glance at the water, you can’t help but wonder how it got so blue!
