Kitchen Sink Granola Bars | Camping Recipe

Making granola bars at home is quick, easy and lets you add all your favorite ingredients. Try this easy granola bar recipe before your next camping trip.

 


Kitchen Sink Granola Bars

Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cups old rolled oats (quick or old fashioned)
  • 1 cup roughly chopped roasted, salted mixed nuts (pecans, almonds, peanuts, pistachios, pepitas, etc.)
  • 1/3 cup coconut flakes
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 3 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 2/3 cup peanut butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup dried cherries
  • ¼ cup raisins
  • Flaky sea salt, for sprinkling

 

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350. Line an 8×8-inch pan with two pieces of parchment paper, letting the parchment hang over the edges.
  2. Combine oats, nuts, coconut, chocolate chips and dried fruit in a large bowl.
  3. Combing honey, maple syrup and peanut butter in a saucepan and heat over medium heat just until peanut butter has melted, and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat, add vanilla and salt and let cool for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Pour peanut butter mixture over oat mixture and stir to combine.
  5. Place into prepared pan and press well. Note: If you have another 9×9 pan, cover the top of the granola mixture with a piece of parchment and press with the second pan.
  6. Sprinkle with flaky salt and bake for 15 minutes until golden brown. Remove from oven, leave in the pan and let cool completely.
  7. Lift from the pan using the parchment pieces, cut into bars and serve or store in an air-tight container.
