June 24, 2015

Whether you own an RV or have decided to rent one for a fun trip this summer, you need to have some destinations in mind. Sure, it can be fun to go to the same RV campsite every season. You can develop friendships with fellow RVers and know that you will always have a good time. However, a stunning back drop and a road trip to a place that you have never explored before is what RVing is really all about. After all, RVs offer all the comforts of home while allowing for the freedom to take the show on the road. And staying at a KOA is the absolute best way to take your next RV trip to the next level.

So where should you go? The following epic RV road trip locales will definitely serve as a very memorable trip.

The Hermann Wine Trail, Missouri

For all you wine enthusiasts out there, The Hermann Wine Trail is the perfect epic RV road trip for you. Located in Missouri, this wine trail winds for 20 miles along the Missouri River. It features seven family-owned wineries that offer tastings and tours to visitors. At varying times of the year, you can also find live entertainment and other special events along the trail such as the Berries and BarBQ Wine Trail tour taking place the last full weekend of July.

The Finger Lakes, New York

The region of long lakes and beautiful scenery known as The Finger Lakes region of New York is the ideal RV road trip for families. There are a huge variety of museums, points of interest, lakes, recreational activities, and art galleries to visit. In fact, you may have to keep going back every year to make sure that you experience all the region has to offer. A great place to start on your first epic RV road trip here is at Watkins Glen KOA before checking out the absolutely gorgeous Watkins Glen State Park.

The Great Lakes Seaway Trail

The 518 mile long Great Lakes Seaway Trail will take you past amazing sights and views, including Lake Erie, Lake Ontario, Niagara Falls, and the St. Lawrence River. In addition to the incredible amount of different activities to partake in and stops to make along the way, one of the most interesting points of interest on this epic RV road trip are the historic lighthouses. There are over 20 along the route, and they are all worth exploring.

Epic RV road trips can be found just about anywhere, but these three are worth experiencing for everyone. With gas prices being relatively low these days, make this summer the time you finally take that epic RV road trip you’ve always talked about!
