We loved our stay here. Large sites, very close to the lake and our daughter loved the jumping pillow, swings and pool!

Good trip. We wanted quite, kicked back weekend. Stayed in site 62, liked it. We thought store was open until 8pm. Called to see if they had item and found out they close at 5 after Labor Day. They had the needed item and Kim Ann delivered to our camp site. It was way above and beyond normal customer care. I was not feeling well, so the item was greatly appreciated. THANK YOU KIM ANN! All dirt campgrounds and the spaces are very small, to hilly - no where to ride bikes or enjoy a nice stroll.

Wonderful staff. Friendly and helpful. The park is huge. Love the combination of tents and motorhome s . The activities for children were fun and plentiful ( I did not have a child) just enjoyed their enthusiasm.

Staff was pleasant, campground was very dusty. We were right next to main road and everytime a car passed tons of dust in our site. Bathrooms crowded. Beautiful area and nice people, but not my favorite KOA.

Bathrooms could have been a bit cleaner. There was a general scent of sewage around our campsite. The campsites around our location were noisy until past 11:00 p.m.

Our site was #29 and was pretty easy to get into. Within 10-15 minutes we were unhooked and leveled. The site has good afternoon shade. Pretty center to the whole park. The park was clean and had plenty of trash receptacles around. It was our first time there, and we will be back.

The campground itself and the location is great. We stayed in site 26 which was nice in terms of having more space from other campers and was shady. The amenities such as the pool, jumping pillow, and the Emu kept our kids entertained. The staff was friendly and helpful. Maintenance of the campground could be better. Cleaning is only superficial and needed to be improved, especially bathrooms.

The area and overall campground are fantastic. The staff are the nicest we have ever met! Our only issue was that the facilities were filthy. Bathrooms and pool/pool area were absolutely disgusting. The pool was moldy and murky. I was pulling other camper's hair out of the pool the whole time we were there. We are so looking forward to going back but hope next time will be cleaner. Thank you.

We are a young family of 4 and this was such a perfect place. Very low key and relaxing while the kids had a blast in the pool and on the jumping pad. The Friday night movie and slip and slide were also such a fun addition. We already booked our next stay. Thank you very much for the memories.

Kim was very helpful in helping us book our perfect tent camping site. We had so much fun while we were there! I also have to mention how wonderful the ladies were at check in, answering my questions while at the pool, and how sweet they were while we were checking out. Every interaction we had with the KOA staff was delightful

The reason for the low review is to highlight the issue we had at our site #9. There was a small building right next to our camp site which is used for the sewer system. This building constantly emitted a foul sewer odor. I mentioned this to the KOA staff and they were aware of the issue but said that this was normal. Otherwise I would recommend the Santa Margarita KOA to all except for site #9.

This is an excellent place if you need a fully equipped cabin down to a tent campsite. Being built into a hillside allows more privacy between sites than you would expect from a typical KOA experience. The hosts are very helpful and very accommodating. Can't say enough about what makes this a step above the typical KOA location as it has been for decades.

Karen, Michele, and Daisy's names. Were amazing help to our family. This trip was kind of hard after my husband passed away. We came out to do a memorial for him. Y'all made it very cool. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
