This campground is amazing! The staff is super helpful and enthusiastic. My 2 and 6 year old kiddo had a wonderful time! My husband and I didn’t want to leave!

Friendly staff, pool was a bit discusting, as in not clean during hot weather. Kids had fun during the activities during the day on Sat, especially the large slip and slid and foam pit.

It was a cute little tiny house cabin. It had everything we needed and was amazingly clean. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

Staff was very friendly. Store is fantastic. Activities were truly impressive. Makes us want to do another KOA again. A couple concerns though: 1) The pool water was absolutely filthy. I can't overstate how gross that was. 2) Quiet hours were not respected. There was blaring music well past 10 pm 3) The waterslide needs more supervision. My daughter was almost hit as staff wasn't controlling slide

We really enjoyed staying here. The kids spent a lot of time on the jumping pillow and playing horseshoes. Star gazing hill was great, we got to see the Milky Way. Loved seeing so many different animals, deer, blue jays, woodpeckers and even wild turkeys.

Such a great getaway! The jumping pillow was a hit! We stayed in a cabin, it was cute, clean and just enough essentials to make it great :) We also enjoyed the horse back riding at Shangri-la Ranch. Morro Bay & San Luis Obispo are a short drive away. It was just the trip we were looking for!

Secluded and shaded campsites. Clean bathrooms. Lots of activities to keep the kids busy. Overall chill vibe. Loved our time.

Good place for outdoor activities. We had great time. Campground is disappointing, dusty, no shades and congested tent campsites.

KOA Santa Margarita is a special spot! Rugged and spacious with amazing views and helpful staff. The night skies are spectacular and star gazer hill is not to be missed!! We loved our stay!!

Great fun for the kids—the waterside & foam pit were a smash. And they practically lived at the bounce pillow. Everything is on a hill & I’m paved so I didn’t bring their bikes, however some kids did bike around. We wouldn’t have biked to the lake because we had our bikes. My one complaint would be the dog park was pretty overgrown an unkempt.

Poor wifi access Poor basketball setup Poor hot/cold water shower (impossible to have warm water at the shower it’s ether too hot or too cold) The cabin was nice and clean but the ac was too noisy. We had dirty water coming out of the sink for a few hours. We’ll stay at the pismo avila next time we’re in the area and not in santa margarita koa.

We really liked the more remote location of this KOA. I wish the pool was bigger, but it was nice that there was one to begin with. The hilly layout is a good workout but I could see it being more difficult for older folks - especially if using the showers/bathroom. Super-friendly staff!

We had a cabin high up on a hill. Once we got out cars parked & we settled in, it was a terrific time and great place to stay. We enjoyed visiting Kevin the Emu and the kids really enjoyed the Bounce Pillow area. Snow cones were a hit. It was a short drive to SLO. FYI, our cabin only had a 2 electric burner stove with no oven. It was 90 plus degrees outside and having AC was a plus. We'll be back.

We had an amazing time at our campsite. We stayed here before about 4-41/2 years ago and we were on the edge of returning. But we thought why not try again. So, we have to say from the moment we arrived till we departed this Koa was outstanding. Your management is outstanding and kudos to her and the staff for turning your campgrounds around and making it a clean, fun and safe environment!!!

We had a wonderful stay! I can not begin to express how nice and helpful everyone was. I was asked multiple times by staff how everything was going or reminded if we needed anything to let them know. We will be coming back.

My stay at santa margarita koa was the best public bathrooms and showers super clean and the foam slide and the hay ride was the best and pool is very well maintained. The staff are also great people they really make us welcome, thank you all.We cant wait to go back. Children and us adults love it. See you next year again � for our annual family reunion.

My husband and I love camping here, we come yearly. The campgrounds are clean and staff is amazingly friendly! Store is full stocked, in case anything needed. We love the swimming pool in the evenings after a long day of fishing at the Lake. Come see for yourself, you’ll become a regular yourself!!

great customer service! using the overflow parking was a life saver when we had nowhere else to go! pool is great, spots are nice and it’s very easy to navigate. there are so many birds which was nice. we had a great stay!

The activities for the kids were great but not having any air conditioning in the 100-degree weather was not good. We paid $75 a night to have no air for the hottest parts of the days. Tell people ahead of time. We will not come be going back.

Amazing. They had a bunch of different activities to keep busy and everything was well laid out.I have older kids and younger kids and each one all had fun together. They are looking forward to going back. All staff was great and helpful!!

This is an excellent place if you need a fully equipped cabin down to a tent campsite. Being built into a hillside allows more privacy between sites than you would expect from a typical KOA experience. The hosts are very helpful and very accommodating. Can't say enough about what makes this a step above the typical KOA location as it has been for decades.
