It's a nice place. $56.00 is bit much for a tent spot, especially when I slept in my car. I was grateful I had a bathroom and water and electric. I felt safe. I was traveling alone. Thank you.

Really nice place. One minus is highway and railroad noise. I got along fine as I travel with ear plugs.

Friendly and personal service! On our second night, a group of 10+ people pitched seven tents in the two spots next to us (way over the limit). The managers quickly rectified the situation so we didn't have to drive 7 hours at 6 pm to get home. We really like the cabins and tent sites, but will try to avoid the busiest summer weekends next time.

The KOA and its facilities are very nice. There were lots of variety of places to stay for campers, cabins or few tent sites. The location is near a very loud interstate and very, very active railway, so the noise was almost unbearable if you are in a tent. I'm sure the campers and cabins have a better experience. If you are staying in a tent, bring ear plugs.

Teenage staff seemed like they were just there to collect a paycheck. Adult staff were more friendly. Tent site was okay, not great, but okay. Restrooms/showers were nice. Proximity to the highway is definitely NOT a plus. I should have thought about that before I booked a place.

The campground itself was great! The staff were super friendly and the bathrooms were amazing! I’d never seen the sink, toilet and shower in each stall. However, that train…. I know you can’t control it but complimentary ear buds would be nice. I probably got about 3 hours of off and on sleep.

Office staff are so nice and friendly and help with anything you need. This camp site is so nice and quiet and close to town. Bathrooms are beyond what you would wish for, clean spacious and very nice. Always will stay at KOA east when coming to Lava!

Site is beautiful, but, The reservationist AND the attendant mixed me up with someone else with the same last name. Double booked the tent site. The other person asked to be moved, the attendant canceled, rebooked the same site. I had checked in at 2PM but returned to an occupied site. The on duty person pretty much said to share the sites.Terrible process and few sites, little regard for tents.

It is an excellent KOA for RV's our tent site was a little on the sloping side which made it a little difficult to set up, but we do have a very large tent. The bathrooms/showers were very nice and so was the laundry room. We liked the fact that we were within walking distance of town.

They were so amazing, the office store had everything we needed because we forgot things, the campsite was clean, the bathrooms are stellar. Truly perfect for a camping get away. Lava itself is the perfect little get away spot. It’s the best small town vacation perfect for those who love the outdoors!

The trains passing through the boundary of the camp group were incredibly loud waking me up many times throughout the night. I had a horrible nights sleep.

The passing of the Union Pacific Railroad transportation runs through this quaint little valley. We do offer earplugs in our camp store.

We enjoyed our stay. Everything was clean and our tent spot was nice. Some changes that I'd love to see though are putting a fence around the playground and adding restroom spots that are just toilets. We played on the playground a lot during our stay and saw a lot of kids almost get hit by cars as they were crossing the street to get back to their camp.

Over paid for a tent site that was described as a grassy area. It was more dirt than grass. It is next to a very busy street and a train that went by several times that keeps waking you up. We left very tired after 2 nights of very little sleep. We won't be going back.

I stayed 3 nights under the shade of a tree which was great considering the heat wave! The campgrounds were well kept and the staff was friendly and helpful! You can also walk into town from the campgrounds which was convenient!

Too expensive for a campground right next to a railroad and highway honking & rattling all night. Tent sites are so close together. We were charged $4 per kid on top of fee. If you have more than one tent you are charged $31 extra. It doesn’t make any sense since you are taking up the same tiny tent site. Path to river has stinging nettle & poison hemlock. We got blisters. Nice bathrooms though

We loved the proximity to the water park and hot pools, and our site over the river was beautiful. As rarer tent campers, we had some trouble figuring out facilities to serve our needs (e.g. sink and lower-amp electricity), and the staff weren't sure either, but they worked with us to make sure we got what we needed. We had a great time! Thank you!

Awful staff to deal with. Never dealt with people who hated the people so much that gave them business. Watched an employee lie to people multiple times and when called on it, no apology, just gaslit the people. Great location, awful staff.

Overall, the stay was nice. This is my first time camping in this area and the multiple trains in the middle of the night with their blaring horns made getting a peaceful rest pretty difficult. The restrooms and showers were nice and when the trains and semis took a break, it was very nice.

We arrived late but no problems because the host left a note for us. Site was clean and great for the tent. Loved being next to the river. Only struggle was the bathroom—the door had a sign saying “laundry” but nothing to indicate it was the bathroom, so we were a bit confused at first.

We took a last minute trip with our travel trailer. We booked the patio site about an hour before we got there. Staff was amazing. We had a back in river front site. They have concrete patios with a nice fire bowl and table and chairs. Our site was fairly level side to side but the pitch front to back was not. It really sloped toward the tongue area. We were glad we brought an extra block for the tongue jack to sit on. There is a nice pet area and play area for kids in the upper section. If you are in the river front area, you have plenty of fishing options. The cabins look beautiful and there are plenty to choose from. The bathrooms were spotless and same for the showers. My husband was carrying trash to the trash containers and staff asked if they could take care of it for him. They keep the place very clean. There is a nice group picnic area by the laundry room and there are extra bathrooms at the other end of the campground. The only negative would be the trains going by at all hours, even during the night. They have a nice walking path to go to town but it was closed while road work was being done. We will definitely be back.

Really a very nice park. We spent 4 nights in the office season and it was only us in half of the park for most of the time. It would have gotten 5 stars across the board if not for the near constant sound of freight trains and Jake brakes. You kinda get used to the noise though. Until bedtime. Staff was fantastic to work with and amenities were top notch! Will probably go back again if we're ever in the area.

Stayed here for a weekend away with my husband. It was so romantic the view of the snake river. The town has such a unique charm. The cabins were wonderful right next to the amazing Thai food! We got to walk right to the Hot Springs. The town is small and so we were able to walk The whole town and back to our cabin. I would recommend to others and definitely I'll be back!
