The location is great! The staff was friendly and helpful. The campsites are clean well kept. The only downside is they are too close together and no room for parking. I would have given 5 stars if the campsites gave a little room so that I didn't have to hear the nieghbors dogs winning and crying when they left them. Also could'nt have a fire as our fire pits too close to cars parked.

The campground is very pretty especially the sites next to the river. we enjoyed our stay and will come back again. I gave it a 4 out of 5 because we had my stepdaughter's birthday party and she had some friends stay and after paying the parking pass and per person charge they still had to pay for a tent and I thought that was a bit much after the cost of the site.

Our campsite was one of the best on our 8 different states trip. Well maintained & relaxing, even if the dog of the previous occupants of the site left a present by the tree! Fn Rude! If you bring a pet, fine, just clean up after it & keep them on a leash! Those aren't my rules, it's the campgrounds. Whiles the train is a little noisy, I kinda felt it was just part of the setting. No biggie!

This is a really nice campground with shady, level sites. It is conveniently located within walking distance of the hot springs and town with a short connecting trail. It is a bit noisy, being close to the highway and railroad tracks, but that is unavoidable. The only detractor for us is the size of the K9 corral. It would be nice to have one with room to run or toss a ball.

Had a nice quiet week! Coming back with my 90 yr old mother this weekend. This is my favorite place to go with my motorhome! I come hear at least once a year. Very peaceful place with nice people.

Very nice spacious site, very friendly staff! I don't know what, besides the river, constitutes this place as a holiday because there are only a few random amenities, but the proximity to the water park and hot springs and river floating are worth it. Very nice and well maintained KOA!

Nice campsites. There was some confusion when I requested a paved site. I did not know I also needed to request a paved site with paved patio. We got a paved site without the paved patio. Maybe, when talking to KOA employees making these requests there should be more specifics.

Brand new sites in the expansion. Nice restrooms and showers. Fun view of the trains going by. The staff were helpful and friendly. We were able to walk to town which was nice. The main grounds had the dog parks which was terrific but it would be and I hope they refine the trail between the camps. Glad we stayed, fortunately for us we camped close enough to the river that we could hear it.

Lovely staff, very well maintained campground, the campgrounds along the Portneuf River are very relaxing and convenient to downtown Lava Hot Springs. The only downside is the train traffic that runs all night long. Bring noise canceling headphones, heavy duty earmuffs or really good ear plugs. It’s worth it!

On the Hwy and train tracks. So noisy can’t sleep the people there will make eye contact with you and then look the other way. I’ve never seen a KOA like that. OK the bathrooms are clean and the trash was picked up, but I would never stay there again their excuse for having no activities for the kids not even a swimming pool is they have so much going on in town that is not necessary.

We enjoyed our stay! We ended up having to use the facilities this time due to some issues with our toilet. Restrooms were clean and convenient! Staff was helpful and friendly as they always are! We will definitely be booking again next year! Thanks!

Condition of facilities exceeded expectations. Highway noise was very loud with semi jake brakes running throughout the morning, day, evening and night. Not as peaceful as what we would have liked but the cleanliness of the bath/shower house and sites made up for it. One other small negative is the $6.00 a night fee I had to pay for my ADA service dog.

Beautiful scenery and very serene right on the river. I loved that it was right next to the town but it still was very secluded. Easy check in and nice amenities!

This is the best KOA we’ve stayed at, and we’ve been there twice. Our back in site was right next to the river and had a nice patio and grass. It’s only a short walk to the hot springs, raft and tube rental and restaurants. Highly recommend.

Everything was great. The staff was super friendly even helped us locate our spot. The staff in the gift shop were exceptionally polite and kind. I hate those trees, though they stick to everything and get all over the place. Very hard to get off your shoes. I’ll definitely stay here again, but not in May lol

For a short notice reservation this place was accommodating. The place was clean and the spots for large fifth wheel trailers were nice.

My son had his tent in the back of the truck our first night, and it was so cold he moved it to the ground. We were charged an additional $50. The table at our camp site was teetering and unstable. The railroad tracks and traffic on the highway were loud all night long. We had a visitor for an hour in another car during our stay and the camp host came by and wanted us to pay for that vehicle.

This is a wonderful KOA in a beautiful setting along the river. The site we stayed on, is new and we'll laid out. It is very evident the owners have invested a lot of time, energy, and money in making Lava Hot Springs KOA a wonderful destination people like us want to return to year after year. All sites here are large with room to relax and not feel crowded. The staff are thoughtful/supportive,

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Lava Hot Springs KOA! The campground is beautiful, the amenities are fantastic, and everything was clean and well maintained. We ended up arriving a day early and had two different campsites during our stay, but the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us and made the transition from one site to the other incredibly smooth. Their customer service was outstanding, and we had zero problems throughout our visit. We truly enjoyed our time here and appreciated how friendly and helpful everyone was. We will definitely be coming back and would highly recommend Lava Hot Springs KOA to anyone looking for a great camping experience!

Great place to stay. Lots of activities around the area. Perfectly located out of the busiest areas, yet close to everything you need. Staff is great and facilities were very clean! Bathrooms are a good way to judge how well kept a place is and they're nice and clean. There is a train track that runs parallel to highway right next to the location, but nether were too much to handle.
