Great stay! Wonderful hosts! The camp was clean and well organized. The only small drawback was the highway and train noise at night, which was easily drowned out by the a/c in my RV. I knew this before booking, so for me, it wasn’t a deal breaker. I actually like the trains going by. We had fun.

We absolutely love staying at the east KOA lava Hot Springs. The cabins are always super clean and comfortable. I love the patio area for campfires after a long day out in the sun. The staff is always very kind and professional.

We had the misfortune to stay at the new expansion, it was a long walk to Lave Hot Springs, no shade, walking next to the highway wasn’t ideal. Camp spots were difficult for some to back into.

It was a great time plus I had locked my keys in the RV and the young man helped me find a locksmith to open the RV I was so thankful that he went out of his way to help forgot his name All the staff were friendly to us the camp grounds were nice and clean I would recommend this KOA to everyone and looking forward to next year being there keep work

We love the campsite and the campground, it is always clean and well maintained. Also rented a cabin this time for 4 nights and it was almost $1000! We have been going here for years and love it. The only downside is the prices are getting really high for everything.

We were in the extended site, which was across the hwy from the main campground. The site was new and very well kept. The unfortunate thing was that we had a window in our motorhome broke, the facility didn’t have any cameras to see who or how the window was broke. The staff is amazing and very helpful and super apologetic about the situation.

The staff was very helpful and friendly, the cabin was clean and comfortable, the only problem that I had is that there is a half moon window above the main entrance that is facing east, and it doesn’t have any blinds or curtains so every morning the sun light came through and shined right on our face while we tried to sleep, when brought it up to staff attention after the first day, they laughe

Its our all time favorite KOA it's always so beautiful and clean! The staff is always kind and attentive. Stetson was the best!! He was so helpful.

KOA was lovely on the Portneuf River, mature trees, the grounds and campsites--clean and lots of grassy area. But one surprise for us was--and every campground in the town deals with the loud noise/vibrations of the freight trains and big truck engine brakes at all hours of the day and night. But, if you don't mind the noise, tubing the river is a blast! Location is a 5-min drive to access river!

This place is so cool! We loved our riverside cabin and it was amazing to be walking distance from the fun of the hot springs and tubing and great restaurants nearby. Highly recommend!

Very clean, nice sites, great little path to walk to town, WiFi worked great, very family friendly Downside- ���in is 3pm, could be packed on weekends, $6 charge per pet not disclosed until check in, hwy is very very close - traffic seemed much less at night- but definitely loud during the day, train also uber close pretty high priced but nice view if you pay extra for a river site

It was a comfortable stay and just a short walk to the river. The employees were friendly. The grounds were clean.

This is a nice campground and the people are amazing. Our only complaint was the horrific infestation of beetles. While I realize that beetles and bugs are a part of nature, it was not enjoyable with them being everywhere. For that reason only, I would probably not camp here again. For that matter, I probably won't camp anywhere in LHS.

Sites were too close together. Also, the in between areas was more mud/dirt then grass. Lastly the gravel sites are in need of gravel. It is mostly gone; again more mud then gravel.

The stay was great. This is a very well kept campground with friendly and helpful staff. The day we left we had trailer problems and had to wait well past check out for a tow truck. They were very accommodating and helpful.

Have stayed here 3 times. The first two times were great that’s why we booked again. This time there was a box elder bug infestation. 10’s of 1000’s of them. Asked the staff to do something about it. Received a bottle with soap and water. We fought box elder bugs all weekend. Couldn’t leave anything out, couldn’t cook outside, constantly fighting the bugs off everything.Very dissatisfied

We were only there for an overnight but loved our site by the river and within walking to the hot springs. Warm welcome at the front desk and very clean grounds and bathrooms.

I stayed for a tent site, this location has so much awesome activities from a walking distance. The quaint town, hot springs, perfect location. This truly a family campground of all ages. The staff office were very informative and friendly, the accommodations were clean.

Stay wonderful. Andy is fabulous. However, you must enforce your recreational motorized vehicles running around and around in the camp, nearly hitting people and some so loud you cannot even hear the person sitting next to you. It’s in your rules, please post it and bring it to the attention of those who have such vehicles with them. It is mostly children who are running these! Very Dangerous!

Thank you for your feedback. We recognize the hazard of recreational vehicles. No motorized recreational leisure riding was added to the policy list on the maps. The electric bikes have been a challenge. Idaho Law does not consider them as motorized. We are working on changing the policy wording.

The campsite, the restrooms, the showers. Everything was great however there’s constant trains just across the road that go by all day and all night. Also, the major road going to soda Springs is right there so you hear the semi’s going by morning day and night. If it wasn’t for that, it’d be a great place to stay!

Staff was friendly, Grounds were immaculate and well belt. Location is good because it’s close to Lava. Only negative is the train noise and road noise at night. Despite that We Would definitely stay there again!

Great place to stop and take a break in Idaho. Super cute town, lava hot spring very relaxing and tubing is so fun! Campground and showers super clean and friendly staff!

It is ridiculous to charge $6.00 per dog per night. I won't be staying at this KOA ever again. I cleaned up after my dogs and brought and used my own pet bags for their waste. All the other KOA's and other RV parks have NEVER charged for pets.

We apologize that you were unaware of the pet charge. The additional fee is included in the site descriptions. The pet fee helps cover the cleaning and maintenance costs. We also provide a paw pen area where you can take your pet to and let them off the leash.

The younger man at the front desk check in was very rude. We had bought a pipe for our toilet and realized it was missing the connection. When we tried to return within just minutes he said no returns rudely then we asked if we could just exchange and pay the difference for the more expensive one. He no returns. If he would have just said sorry it would have gone a long way but he was just rude.

We appreciate your feedback. Staff are trained to explain to guests when purchases are made that items are not refundable. That said, we always want our guests to feel they are being treated with courtesy and respect. Always please ask for a manager so we can address your concerns.

Loved the shade from trees, nice pull through spots. Grassy areas. Highly recommend. Only thing is playground needs more for kids to do.

We visited this KOA in early fall after the summer rush, so the camp ground was pretty quiet and not full of campers. Check I was a breeze and the employees were friendly and helpful. There really aren't any bad sites here. Some are right on the river. The camp sites are all clean and level and the park was easy to maneuver in. The only con to staying here is the highway and railroad noise. Personally it didn't bother me at all, but if you're someone who needs quiet to sleep you're probably not going to get the best sleep here. Overall, this is a great KOA and I would highly recommend staying here.
