We love staying at the KOA East! Easy walk to town for us! The turnaround getting out is tight in the east loop. We have a 35' MPG but just be careful and slow. The neighbor left their dog alone - barking - till late. Ugh... The train that goes by multiple times a night and rocks the trailers like an earthquake is something we always forget about but we always come back. LOL! Staff is super kind!

Such a beautiful place to stay. The restrooms are the cleanest ever and the grounds are well kept. Nice area and friendly staff and if you forgot something or need something, the store is full of great things. The laundry is clean and easy to use also. There is a nice trail to go into town. We really enjoyed this place. Look forward to coming back.

The park is very well kept. The restrooms and showers are very clean. They only have three washers and four dryers but at least they have them available. The front office staff during our stay were all extremely pleasant and always happy to see you. We will most likely be back next year with more friends and family.

The campground is clean and well maintained. The town of Lava Hot Springs is so cute. Wish we could have stayed another day. Would return for sure!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this KOA. It had convenient access to the hot pools and to town. The park was very clean and well-maintained. We would definitely stay here again.

Just bring earplugs for the train and traffic noise. The restrooms were updated and super clean. The sites have beautiful old trees and are clean as well. The office people were really nice. We will definitely go back!

Cabin extremely nice. Beautiful scenery. Comfortable amenities. One tenant, in a Semi tractor was constantly smoking on his patio, Front steps. Running the generator on his Semi for 2 to 3 hours at a time. Thus is no fault of the KOA. But if this tenant returns, you should be aware. His Semi is light blue in color. The greeters at this KOA are top notch. The KOA is very clean. Hot springs are BEAUTIFUL!! A place that you stay for one or two days. Really isn't much to do. Little town has great restaurants, a little shopping. Very nice people. Only bad thing is the RR and the jake brakes. I think ALL KOAs are near the highway/trains, so if you know that and don't mind, good place to stay.

We were at the end of a two week journey from Quebec City, Quebec, Canada and this was our favorite KOA campground by far. We had a patio site and it was beautiful. No gravel or dirt to track into our camper and the ground were very clean. We would highly recommend this campground. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay.

The campsite was very small with no shade. Walkable to hot springs and downtown. Too close to highway. Unable to sleep due to engine brakes on transport trucks and trains rattling through every 1/2 hr at night. Shower curtains aren't wide enough to cover stalls so water leaks everywhere

The park itself was very nice and clean, and we had a nice spot with a patio and a place for our dog. The reason I am rating this park so low is that it is the noisiest park we have ever ever stayed in. It is next to Highway 30 and railroad tracks, both of which are constantly busy. Even with the windows closed, we could not hear our TV without volume up high & often had to pause TV for trains!

Very nice accommodations and staff. You guys did great. Only thing we didn’t enjoy was the noise from the trucks and train. Sure would help if there was an engine brake restriction in effect for that stretch of highway going into and through the town. But overall… well done with the campground.

We liked the KOA and would have stayed another night if we had planned better. We did not like the staff, as the gal in the front office gave poor directions to our site, having us pull in the wrong direction for the hookups. Our neighbor had the same problem. We did not get an escort to our site. Location to the Hot Springs was great.

Noisy because our site was right next to the highway and train tracks, but within walking distance of the hot springs. They provided ear plugs at checkin!

I’ve never left a bad review but here it is. The kids playground was filled with rusty equipment. The facility charges $50 deposit to play corn hole and when you return the bags you get $45 back. I have to pay $5 for bean bags? The shower curtain didn’t fit across the shower so a big mess. I think they tried to cut in half to share with the next unit. Other than location, it was a disappointme

This is a beautifully kept campground. However, it is more expensive than what we normally like to pay, even for full hookups. Unfortunately, you can’t change your location in that canyon, but being so close to the highway & railroad tracks,it was just way too noisy for us.The location of the fire pit is awkward because it is right next to the neighbors trailers instead of closer to ours.

Great stay, at check in we were able to upgrade our cabin without any issues. Cabin was clean and well taken care of. Will be back for future vacations.

Beautiful RV park. Nice facility and showers. Level parking spots that have ample space for RV and pickup. Train and road niise, but not excessive at night.

Stayed in a cabin without a bathroom. It was ok. No chairs and no porch swing. The community bathroom was really nice. Lots of road noise, although quieter at night. Train nearby. Very clean. Nice hosts.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Lava Hot Springs KOA! The campground is beautiful, the amenities are fantastic, and everything was clean and well maintained. We ended up arriving a day early and had two different campsites during our stay, but the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us and made the transition from one site to the other incredibly smooth. Their customer service was outstanding, and we had zero problems throughout our visit. We truly enjoyed our time here and appreciated how friendly and helpful everyone was. We will definitely be coming back and would highly recommend Lava Hot Springs KOA to anyone looking for a great camping experience!

Great place to stay. Lots of activities around the area. Perfectly located out of the busiest areas, yet close to everything you need. Staff is great and facilities were very clean! Bathrooms are a good way to judge how well kept a place is and they're nice and clean. There is a train track that runs parallel to highway right next to the location, but nether were too much to handle.
