We ended up changing date of our trip and I am still waiting for the refund of the night we changed. We have been charged 3 nights for a 2 night stay.

Quiet on weekdays but chaotic, noisy, and crowded on the weekends. Kids on bikes are everywhere. Adults and kids pass your campsite constantly. Privacy is not respected. Trash on ground around dumpster was not cleaned up by staff and there are a lot of dead trees that need to be removed for safety. Staff in the office were pleasant and efficient during check in.

The room we were given had no carbon man oxide detector, it had been taken out. The pull out bed had springs missing so one side of the mattress went on the floor meaning you had to sleep on a steep slant. My husband ended up sleeping on the couch so my son could get some sleep. I have photos -doing a review once I get time later this week. We then stayed in the tree house and the ac was broken

Our Deluxe cabin exceeded our expectations. The kids enjoyed the activities - I would recommend to my friends!

THIS REVIEW IS FOR OUR STAY - AUGUST 3-10, 2025. SITE 70 ON THE RIVER: My family, friends and I will NEVER be back unless a major management change occurs. Human waste was accidentally sprayed all over our 2 grills while a lift station that had broke was being pumped. Gallons of septic human waste spilled on our site. Phil, manager, did nothing to clean it up, and ended up yelling at me! BEWARE!!

We are a 45 foot motorcoach. They put us in a pull thru site #17, the type of site which we requested. The little fences in between sites and the large trees made it very difficult to pull out. We were having to turn along the fence where the main activities were. Many trees along the route were too low, scratching our roof a lot. We were very disappointed. Very poor lot choice.

Had a decent trip. Did deal with a sewer stoppage - which the KOA team eventually resolved. It encompassed a few sites in a row. Also, site 74 power tripped at the main breaker twice (labeled site 73 at the main breaker box.) Not happy that check in for RV sites has been changed to 3PM. We lost 2 hours (unless we want to pay $25 more...)

I liked being up in the Mountainside part of the resort because there was a lot more space. I just wish the Wi-Fi was available up there also. Plus it would be super nice if the path down to the stairs was marked somehow. I wandered around for a bit before I finally saw a staff member go down it. Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely consider coming back. Thank you!

My glamping site was the only one with out a swing which I understand things break but you should have had it replaced before I checked in. It's very expensive to stay here and the sites are so small it was nice to be able to go mining but there isn't much around so I was excited to try the restaurant the miners table which looked great online and yet it was closed, off season should renovate

Wonderful staff. We broke down and cancelled reservation but it was a quick fix and they happily reinstated it. Beautiful campground. Was slightly disappointed that we didn't know about a barbque,that one of the activities didn't have the supplies needed or that the DJ cancelled. But all minor things. Dog park great. Staff super friendly. Pool excellent though could use more tables or chairs.

We stayed in a small riverfront lodge in the glamping section and were disappointed for the price. Our table was missing (taken by other campers), no privacy on the door so we hung towels, the cabin sloped making sleep uncomfortable, and kids ran through sites. No clear boundaries. Checkout staff didn’t ask about our stay and seemed uninterested in feedback.

The diamond lodge location and exterior was great. Upon entering we found that there was not 4 Bed-Bunk Bed Sets and 1 Bed-Full Bed. There were 2 full beds and 2 bunk bed sets, we made it work with the family we were sharing it with but it was unfortunate. The other thing was finding two cockroaches in the house (so don’t leave food out). Other than that, it was a good experience.

Site 203 in the new Mountain side of camping was not level. Gravel area was very dusty and had many drainage runoff areas in the new mountain side of the campground. The landscaping in the area needed attention, i.e. weeds, missing mulch and bushes need to be trimmed. There is also no exterior lighting on this side of the facility. Expected more for a resort facility.

Our stay was wonderful. The cabin was very nice but no hot water for the shower, if that is the only problem we had then be it. Everybody was very nice from the people who worked there from the other travelers. We stayed at the WOOF cabin. We will definitely stay there again in the WOOF cabin

This was only our 2nd camping trip ever. It will definitely not be the last time we stay at Herkimer Diamond KOA. Our site as right on the West Canada Creek. It was so relaxing. And watching people going through on tubes was entertaining. Sites are big enough to not feel crowded. The amenities were very good. Especially the ice cream. There are also many activities for the kids too! We'll be back

Overall a great stay. Friendly and helpful staff members made it fun for our children with lots of activities. The only issue that was an inconvenience is the bathroom plumbing issues during the weekend. Fir the past 4 years that we have stayed, the bathrooms and showers were overloaded causing plumbing issues. We enjoyed our stays regardless. Thank you

The worst stay I have ever experienced. We arrived about 40 min early to resort and when we went to check-in they told us it would take a 25 early check in fee. after that I was rudely told that my kids cannot take picture by the golf cart outside.The rooms smelled like alcohol and mattress very uncomfortable. there is literally nothing do around here besides spending 2 hours at the Diamond mine.

Beautiful campground. Grounds well maintained. Bathrooms were not up to par with the rest of the campground. They need updating and we're not always clean. Staff very friendly and helpful

We love coming to the Herkimer KOA! We come with a large group every year! Would like to see basketball, tennis, and pickleball instead of disc golf. We never see anyone playing it, but the other sports would enhance our group's stay!

Only 1 minor suggestion - in shower room there should be at least 1 bench. Older people cannot get clothes (pants, socks) on standing up. Other than that, it was great!!!

We have been to Herkimer KOA many times in the past and always enjoy it so much. This time was no different and we had a great time. The only problem we had was that every utensils and the pot and colander were put away without being washed. Everything was covered in crusted, old food. We had to run to Walmart to purchase plastics silverware and a spatula before dinner burned. Otherwise perfect!

We loved the Creekside Tent sites! The site was large with plenty of shade trees and direct access to the creek. We were there Sun.- Tues. and it was nice and quiet, but still had fun activities. Having the diamond mine right across the street was convenient. My only minor complaint is the pool was very cold and in need of vacuuming. Bathirooms with warm water closer to tents site would be n

Park seems nice. We stayed in Mountainside area. The gravel or lack thereof was the problem. We have a diesel pusher and By the time we made it up the hill and to our site, our RV & Jeep COVERED in dust. You couldn’t make out the color of our vehicles it was so covered. This KOA is huge and seems to be very nice. The new side will be perfect once the fix the roads.

Nice quote. Speed limit not at all enforced and completely ignored. Staff also ignored speed limit and were mostly the culprits. Pool was freezing and not in good shape. Rest of the experience was wonderful.

The camp ground is very nice and we did enjoy our time there the only issue was the activity they had schedule were not very organized. They would change location constantly. A lot didn't start on time especially the flash light games. They started the time it should have ended, we sat around for 30 min waiting and pushing bedtime even later. A lot of the crafts didnt have enough materials

Me and my friend took her 9 yr old grandson here this past weekend. We stayed in a cozy cabin K16. Fresh linens provided, very clean, rustic, cute. This particular one did not have a bathroom but it was very close. Pretty, well maintained site with playground. Staff is FABULOUS and Phil gave our car a jump start as we were trying to leave with a dead battery. Outside of bathroom big sinks with Dawn soap/hot water to wash dishes. All the cabins and sites are beautiful and we had the mohawk to wade in a stone's throw! The shops are beautiful and he had fun in the mines. Not 1 piece of garbage, anywhere. I highly recommend this beautiful place, especially with a family. U can be in the thick of things or more secluded! JUST GO and see this 'GEM' of Upstate, NY!

Overall this is a great campground with excellently maintained common spaces, clean showers and bathrooms, a super fun activities schedule and friendly staff. Also its located directly across the street from the KOA Herkimer Diamond Mine, so we walked there which was convenient. We rented a glamping site for 4 which is suitable for a night or two. The only issue was the actual room was dirty ( had dust and animal hair everywhere ) the coffee maker didnt work and the towels provided were super small. I'm still giving 5 stars and still 100% recommend staying here. The beds were comfortable and the sheets decent. Many of sites, including the one we rented, are facing the river. Ours had a sweet little pourch and a swinging chair for two. All that makes up for the dirty room. Cause clearly this place is awesome and I feel lucky that I got to stay here.
