This was my first stay at a KOA CAMPGROUND! They are pros. I feel spoiled for other camping sites now. The attention to detail, the OUTSTANDING customer service, the friendly staff and the beautiful campground itself all made this a trip to remember! I will be coming back! Thank you for everything you do!

I come to the campground couple times a year. I usually stay in the cabin always had a good experience on this trip. I got a tent site with no hook ups. I was very disappointed. The area was flooded. The ground was soaking wet and full of geese feces that I ended up just sleeping in my truck cause I didn’t wanna ruin my tent the campground was empty. It would’ve been to be put on a dry servic

Liked everything except the fact that on our first night they checked someone in at 11:30pm so we were woken up to banging and clanking and profanity being shouted by this individual as he set his tent up without a light so he turned his car on in front of OUR site not his and had the lights shining right on our tent. Livid is an understatement. There’s more. But no room to type

We have been going to Herkimer KOA for over 30 yrs. We use the tent sites. We started going with our children and now we are taking our grandchildren. We love the tubing and the kids can play without any worries. Great family time.

This place was great! The entire camp is set up perfectly and conveniently and every one of the staff are very pleasant and helpful. We didn't know about all of the family activities so they were a bonus and our kids had an amazing time!

Overall a great stay. Friendly and helpful staff members made it fun for our children with lots of activities. The only issue that was an inconvenience is the bathroom plumbing issues during the weekend. Fir the past 4 years that we have stayed, the bathrooms and showers were overloaded causing plumbing issues. We enjoyed our stays regardless. Thank you

We loved the Creekside Tent sites! The site was large with plenty of shade trees and direct access to the creek. We were there Sun.- Tues. and it was nice and quiet, but still had fun activities. Having the diamond mine right across the street was convenient. My only minor complaint is the pool was very cold and in need of vacuuming. Bathirooms with warm water closer to tents site would be n

Staff was amazing! Food and ice cream on site was a huge plus. Some wear and tear on facilities is showing. The river tubing was a big hit!!

The website states that there is only 1 tent per tent campsite. However, when we arrived, there were sites with multiple tents stacked on the very small sites. Also, the neighboring site that had 3 tents stacked also had taken our picnic table. The staff did bring us another one right away, which was nice. Now had we known we could have had multiple tents we would have had other family join.

The campground was great except the hour's of the store should be later. Also tried going to the ice cream truck was supposed to be open till 9:00 we got there at 8:40 it was closed

This is our 4th annual trip to Herkimer. We had an absolute blast as usual! River rafting and the DJ dance party are among our favorite activities! Everyone we encounter is helpful and kind. Thank you so much!

We had an excellent time, unfortunately we arrived late and were up very early to mine, but we had SO much fun. The facilities were clean, staff was awesome and we will definitely be back! Camping was fantastic and the space was clean, maybe some bigger space number signs, it can be hard to see them at night! Other than that, perfect

Our stay was short but we made the most of it! The river floating was a blast. The kids loved all the different activities that were provided. Campsite is very clean and staff is friendly. We will definitely be back!

Tent sites are too packed. Too close. With no buffers(bushes,trees) If you’re coming here to relax don’t do it. Great circus like environment for children most definitely. Plenty to do for kids! Not a place for singles or just couples. Staff were nice.

Every KOA employee that we encountered was very friendly and extremely helpful and informative. The property was clean and very well maintained. The campsite itself was perfect for us; level, quiet, and shady. I would highly recommend this campground for single campers, couples, or families. Next time, I'll reserve in advance and stay in a cabin. Or better yet, the treehouse!

Great stay and staff. Only one recommendation- perhaps post the hours at the snack and ice cream huts in the garden- we were planing to purchase from them Sunday only to find it was closed.

Had a great time! The rain was a downer but there was so many activities and were able to enjoy our awesome campsite. The pool was freezing and my kids were really looking forward to swimming. The creek was a blast though!

Went with scout troop. Tent sites were in shade, well maintained, clean bathrooms. Very nice staff, would highly recommend.

Everyone there was very helpful and kind. My son loved all the activities. We tented and the site was kept up well. My car would not start so the KOA staff helped to jump start my car.

We loved the atmosphere there. Staff were all very cheerful and loads of smiles! I plan on coming back for a longer stay. The tent sites were very well kept. And tons of activities for my grandson to do. My only complaint was that there was no coffee made in the store and I had to go to town to get coffee. Also the second night there a family of 7 was put next to us. They were loud past midnight.

Campground was great. Friendly people and a nice vibe. We stayed at tent site #91 and I do want to mention that the fire ring was an old tire ring with no grill. I generally expect that the fireplaces at a camp site will have a grill. It did not impact me for this stay, but I could see it being a problem in another situation. The adjoining tent sites all had fire rings with a grill.

Creekside campsite was uneven and filled with water puddles. Although staff at the reception was very helpful in opening up nextsite, uneven & wet campsite ruined our stay and we had to checkout a day early

My son and I had an unforgettable experience. Friendly staff and helpful in giving us guidance for the area. The location is beautiful and clean. The mines were the best part. With the help of the rains, we got so many diamonds. They had a beautiful communal center and so much to do on the grounds.

Showers were good. Campsite was under water. Entire tent campsite had no spot with dry ground. A higher camping pad is needed. We cut our vacation short by two days because the tent had standing water in it. There was muck where you would exit the tent. Staff listened well and refunded the missed time. In summary staff and shower facilities were good. Campsite needs improvement.

Pros: nice location. Nice camp sites and rvs. Playground for the kids. Cons: women’s Shower/bathrooms smell as if the septic is backing up. Shower water was cold. You’d be lucky to get it like warm shower.

Early season, we were aware not full service or amenities. We were disappointed to see the nearest bathroom had issues, No hot water, low water pressure, soap & paper towel dispenser not working. during our full stay, after repeat mentioning it We enjoyed the extra room for our troop since no other campers were in nearby sites. I received your message and am really disappointed in koa. Our family has held a reunion in Herkimer for over 15 years, bringing 70-80 cousins together making countless memories. It now includes four generations.I found it necessary to cancel some reservations due to family reasons. I was told I would be charged $25 each. Customer service is the key to successful business operations, this is an extremely poor example of that skill. The amount of $25 for each reservation cancellation adds onto an already large amount of money I spend there .Koa would not miss this amount, in my financial life, it matters. It also says a lot about koa and their lack of appreciation for loyal customers

The entire experience was amazing. The cabin was clean. They provided everything needed from dishes and pans to towels and shampoo. Everyone was extremely helpful and pleasant. The mine was a great found some great crystals. Will definitely be back!
