I rented a free-standing casita, which is (I think) the best short term rental on the Island since the windows can all be opened to catch the sea breeze, the ocean smell, and the gulls to give it the true meaning of being by the sea. The units are also air-conditioned if it is late summer however, I favor the island atmosphere delivered by the casitas for a sound sleep.

We have been staying in the deluxe cabins for a span of 6 years. Each year the cabins and stay is getting extensively worse. This last visit, we were not told there was no wi-fi and there was going to be constant construction noise for our stay. The cabins NEED TO BE DEEP CLEANED AND UPDATED ASAP.

Nice grounds, friendly staff and a great location. Lids on the toilets, maybe an additional hook and a small shelf in each bathroom would be ideal. I couldn’t find a clean, stable place to put my toothpaste, electric toothbrush and other toiletries while I got out my towel and soap. Also, towel racks or more hooks would be nice. Otherwise, great stay!

I was really looking forward to looking out on the water while at our site witch is on the brochure. But the bushes are so over grown that takes away the view. And there’s loud construction on site.

Facilities seemed to be in disrepair. I realize that changes are being made and some parts are under construction to improve the facilities. Was put in a site that was almost to small for our 5th wheel. Had very little room to park our town vehicle. Pool was extremely cloudy and seemed to have the heater on as it was like a hot tub in there.

This is one of our favorite spots. Construction and glitches are inevitable. The lack of communication around those glitches must be increased so campers can make informed decisions. Things happen, but there's no communication regarding them. We will be back - we love KOA-SPI. Simply ask for better communication.

The showers were gross and one of them did not even work. The pool is gross and dirty could not even swim with the kids. No internet connection. When we step out of the camper, the camper that sits next to us poop drain citrate where we sit that is gross. You can’t sit and have a conversation without somebody flushing the toilet in front of you. We will never be back there again.

I was disappointed there was not places for visitors to park. I was also disappointed that there were no dishes or silverware in the unit that I stayed in after I had asked that question before booking and was told they were completely furnished. I encountered a large bug in my unit going up and down the wall by the tv. When I went to use the hairdryer it didn't work. The pool was closed early

While I understand the campgrounds are under major reconstruction and changes, it was often at the expense of the customer who experienced the most dissatisfaction. As the stay which may be for a short or long period of time was met with facilities often closed or unavailable for use, most importantly poor internet quality. The price for the monthly stay does not coincide with the services offered

Cabin needs a lot of differed maintenance. The floor in the bathroom was loose and felt like you may break through the floor with your foot. There was also no WiFi or hot water. However, they were able to fix the hot water. Other than that, it served its purpose.

The new restroom cabins were very nice and clean. Pool closed down for a few days due to construction and that was a bummer when you are on vacation at the beach. Staff was really friendly and helpful. The upgrades were nice and you can see that there are more to come. The traffic has been slowed down through the park since the restaurant is gone. That makes it really nice and quiet.

The park is under construction and the pool was closed for several days and the internet never worked, and when I called to asked when was it going be fixed they didn't know anything.

Wish we would have known about the construction. Should have been on the website. No Wifi as they said the construction crews cut the line. We were there for 4 days and no repairs. Also, cable was shotty at best reminded of the 60's TV stations. Also had no ice for sale. We stayed about 2 years ago and it was great. Campground was clean and the staff friendly.

Staff was amazing! Every single person I interacted with from SPI KOA was absolutely incredible! However, I booked my stay there for a relaxing vacation, and the much needed pool and hot tub being closed for the entirety of my stay, and the AC going out in our cabin in the middle of the night, really put a damper on having a Relaxing trip that I drove 12hrs for.

In all the years I have never given this place less than the top rating. I was there a month and most paid for amenities did not work. No accommodation or even apology and the several times I brought it up. Has gone down hill since no longer privately owned.

I have always had good stays with the KOA brand, but that was not the case this time. Upon arrival I had to sweep and mop the floors myself and run to the store for multipurpose cleaner to clean the counters and bathroom and fridge. The cabin needs a lot of things replaced. I spent $1000 to listen to a construction zone right next to the K1 cabin, the workers were walking through my site all week.

I cannot get over the playground ant infestation and the condition of the hot tub which was FILTHY and appeared inoperable.....I was even okay with your spaces being ON TOP OF each other, but the ants were a deal breaker. You need to PAY FOR a professional exterminator and regular service. Why would you not get that situation under control? This is a child's play area.

This was our first time staying at a KOA, we arrived after hours and there was a lady who was so willing to help us. The facilities are very clean and comfortable. The office personnel have great customer service. We will definitely be back.

This was our second staying at KOA South Padre and we love each each time we have stayed. The staff was very helpful and very friendly. The kids love doing the arts and crafts, and the smores'. We will definitely be back in the future.

When we arrived I was told the pool is out of commission for a week. I was okay with that because I know things happen. Then I was told there is no internet due to construction. I work on the road and depend on internet. Then told there was no cable. That is WHY I CHOSE KOA for the ammenities. I would have saved 50$ a night and stayed down the road had I been informed of the outtages. Sad.

I didn’t realize the sites were all rock-not a huge issue. The pool was closed the entire time we were there, as was the playground. That’s super annoying!! We stayed because KOA is known to be family friendly-but this one was not. South Padre is 110, we stayed because of the pool. It’s not always easy to take a toddler to the beach. We will look elsewhere to camp next time we go to South Pa

pool is closed all weekend and i would not recommend KOA not for the price I had for 2 nights. Paid over $400 and cabin needs alot of work. Very outdated and patio and bbq pit is nasty. never again and i will never recommend this place. very disappointing.

The pool water was too hot during the day, we had an incident where the employee was rude while in the pool area. I keet my cool only because my family was there. All because we moved the umbrella to where we could get shade because the sun was hitting our backs. No signs were posted not to move the tables or chairs. In the 3-4 years we have been staying here never had I seen an employee in there.

New check-in office location now makes sense. Camp is clean and well-maintained. The RR were comfortable and relatively clean (guests who don’t clean up their hair in showers and/or sinks are gross). wonderful stay at the KOA. We were in site 1A which had a lovely view of the boat launch and Laguna Madre Bay. Sites 1A and 20B, C, and D have that same great view, but they are all very tight and very hot on the blacktop. I'd say site #1 is the true gem of the KOA. It's much bigger than it looks on the map. The pool was wonderful.

Excellent customer service from all staff. Every department is helpfully and professional. Koa is the only campground we stay because of the excellent customer service , cleanliness, family oriented, and safe environment!! Kiddos to all especially Lari !!!! Extremely patient and helpful during family camp events such as arts and crafts, etc. Great job !!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at South Padre. The camping location is awesome, close to beaches. Service and staff have been super good and general cleanness is excellent despite the strong wind that was making the life little bit harder. Our spot was tight (like more or less all spots) but we've been lucky because for the whole stay (almost 20 days) nobody occupied the spot in front of us so we have space for the car and also free view.
