The restrooms could have been cleaner. It is unfortunate that the public trash places. I did like the website, with detailed descriptions of the camping sites. It is a beautiful campground with many secluded sites. I would definitely come back.

Friendly staff, however, the campground itself can use some upgrades. We went in July and it was really hot so we went to the pool, but the pool was very tiny and with only about 10 people, the pool was already packed. Also, our site was infested with yellow jackets which they covered up and laid some traps after we reported it, but still there were a few flying around and made us feel uncomfortab

Loved working with the staff who were super accommodating. It was super easy to settle in and I loved the tucked away spot I had.

Clean restrooms, campsites and grounds was impressive. I was disappointed that firepits were placed in the way of parking the camper trailer, and some of the sites were so narrow, it would be difficult to set up pop up awning. But overall our stay was really nice and peaceful.

Campground was exceptionally clean and campers were friendly and courteous. I appreciated the layout and various overlooks throughout the property. We did experience a large amount of aggressive hornets at our site. Owen was phenomenal sharing hiking suggestions and directions, however the woman inside the office lacked customer service skills.

This KOA was disappointing. Site 78 was up a steep hill with tight turns and basically a narrow driveway with a picnic table. The spot sloped down the hill and the spot was advertised water and electric but there was no electricity. We pre ordered things to be delivered to our site and they were not there upon arrival and no one answers the after hours phone. The bathrooms were very nice.

As soon as I arrived at my campsite, I was welcomed with some firewood, fire starter, and a lighter. beautiful place. definitely coming back

What a beautiful location. Clean and well maintained. It was very quiet and peaceful. The store is well stocked with any supply you can imagine! Very welcoming and kind staff. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back again.

Site facilities work and are reasonably clean. We came to stargaze and was able to get a clear view. Floodlights outside of the bathroom building could be angled lower - its blindingly bright even from our campsite which is uphill.

Stayed 7 nights on our road trip from Connecticut. Loved the location, we were able to see what we planned on the 1st highway area. The staff is friendly. There are great places for tents at the top. The pool is not very clean, as are the restrooms. There was no cleaning on weekdays, only on weekends when there are a lot of people. Lots of wasps, gnats, but that's nature. This is a great campsite for family stays. It’s lively for the children with activities, a pool, a playground, movies and more. Love the helpful staff, the clean sites, the water and electrical hookups and fair rates! We’ll be back!

Lack of hot water in main washroom for a motorcycle tent camper put a damper on my visit. First shower the drain was slow. The next morning I cleaned the drain and it was better. Water was never more than warm. Don't know how much attention has been taken to the facility.

Excellent KOA tucked away in the countryside, making it a nice retreat. The tent sites we stayed at were secluded and quiet with a great view. The steep gravel road, although some find it challenging, is accessible by any vehicle in low gear. We will definitely come back!

It was a great weekend vacation for my family! We loved all the activities they provided: jumping pillow, ducky scavenger hunt, pool, water slide/foam party, kids crafts, and "hayride". My only wish is that this campground provided individual pictures of the sites when choosing which campsite to stay in, I would have chosen differently with a real pic.

BEWARE OF KAREN-Owner! I have been at this campsite for 3-4 years. PAST The campsite was clean, family & friends felt welcomed by previous manager, Wolf & Lisa. We loved it so much that we brought over 16 families. 2024 We booked 13 sites for 21 families. Karen CANCELED them. Rude, initially unapologetic & did not want to take ownership. Frustratingly sad. Looking elsewhere.

Since your visit we found the hold on your Group sites was set to expire 2 months before your Arrival. Future Site Holds will remain in place until the Group's arrival. We were able to give your friends all sites requested and they seemed to have a terrific time. We're sorry this spoiled your visit.

Tent site #5 would be best for motorcycle campers. The staff were phenomenal, helping me with possible alternative sites when they saw I was standing in the shade to keep cool and struggling in the afternoon sun when setting up my tent. One particular female staffer stood out, not only recognized why I was standing in the shade, she also recommended the best path to the showers.

Staff was very helpful, bathrooms were well maintained and clean. Lots of fun things for the kids to do! It's not to far from the beach if you want to venture to Pismo or Morro Bay.

Have visited many KOA's in my travels, id say this one is on my my top 5 best list. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I rented a five person yurt, it was excellent. Very nice and clean. Had electric inside and water just out the door. Short walk to the clean bathroom and shower. Great experience all around.

My family of four (plus our golden retriever pup) had a lovely stay at the Santa Margarita KOA! We stayed in a private yurt, which was very spacious and clean. The campground was extremely nice and had wonderful amenities for the kids (jumping pillow, playground, horseshoes, volleyball, basketball, etc.). There was even an enclosed dog park, which our pup enjoyed. And the staff was amazing and super friendly. The site manager even went above-and-beyond and delivered a bag of ice after hours directly to our campsite! Needless to stay, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to our next visit!
