Had an amazing time. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were in a tent site and had very close access to dishwashing station and trash can. Bathrooms were very clean and well maintained. It is close to the lake and within 20-25 minutes from pismo. Only negative but not within there control anyways would be our site was all dirt could have used some grass or atleast pee gravel.

The bathrooms weren’t very clean, and the doors on the shower stalls were quite short. They seemed to have plenty of activities and things to do though which is nice.

The staff are incredibly helpful, kind, and thoughtful. While I might have been a little disappointed in the site we had, it was mostly because I waited until last minute to reserve and there wasn't much left on a holiday weekend. The camp is clean, quiet at night, and the weekend extra events were special. I highly recommend this KOA - it's the 2nd time we've been there, & we'll be back!

Shower block was clean and tidy, shower heads are very low. Water in the taps comes out brown. water wouldn't work at the camp kitchen Only booked 1 night, and didn't meet any staff, they may have been able to help with the camp kitchen and water

We had a wonderful stay at KOA Santa Margarita. The staff was amazing. Would recommend for sure!

This camp site and I were not a good match. It’s quiet and peaceful, but it’s also steep and hard to get to, such as bath houses. Would like to suggest that you make available porta potties on site.

3rd year in a row staying. We always loved the camp site. staff have always been friendly and helpful. The campgrounds were always maintained, bathrooms are working properly, a lil bit old and could use some upgrades. Lots of trees and hills, well spread apart from other campers. Its a hidden gem away from the city but close enough for emergencies. Would definitely come back again. Thanks again.

It was a very good experience..this was our first time here I had read some negative reviews but I gave it a try was not disappointed only negative was the pool could have been heated,staff was friendly,campground and bathrooms clean..thank you will visit again..

arrived late with our booking. they had our booming info pinned out we could grab. Super clean. spread out. informative and lovely staff. Great location between the coast and wineries

Loves our stay over the weekend. Facilities were clean and the camp site where we set up was clean too. My three year old enjoyed the jumping pillow and meeting Kevin. The pool was nice, but to cold.

We had a very nice spot on the campground. The best part of the campground is the people running it. They are very nice and helpful! Possible improvements are the number of bathrooms and showers. There was only one near our site. Also, there is a lack of watertaps nearby. The price for a spot is very high and then we would expect more facilities.

Camping during the heat wave was so much better with a refreshing pool and awesome campsite. Staff was friendly and the facilities were clean during the holiday weekend.

Been coming to this KOA for 20 plus years love its friendly staff, clean campsites and how there are plenty of activities for the whole family. Overall an amazing place to camp definitely will be back for another stay soon.

1 toilette, 1 douche, pas tres propre et tres loin de l emplacement. Le koa n’est pas goudronné du tout, on mange de la poussière à chaque passage de voiture, et 60€ la nuit pour deux tentes vu les aménagements c’est trop cher. Le pire koa jamais vu.

The showers are very old, they really need to be refreshed. If you have kids, the campground is great but otherwise a more simple campground is enough (no playgrounds, no jumping station,..). We have no kids and were in front of the jumping station, many places were empty, we told them we did not like our place (at 8:03am kids are jumping and yelling) but they did not even fake to try to settle us

The location is a little out of the way depending on what you want to do. The showers are small, but decent. The staff is nice and there are plenty of activities for the kids on the weekends.

My review is 5 stars because I like the hilly walks, the nature and my kids did too. But I have to juxtapose that to my wife who had challenges and her father had challenges too. This KOA is top tier if you are looking for Southern California nature. But if you have mobility issues, or looking for something more urban, it is probably a no go.
