We enjoyed camping here very much! The kids had a blast. Our campsite was big enough to easily accommodate everybody. The staff were very friendly. My only complaint is that it is not well lit at night, but some people might prefer that to make it feel more rural. Also, wish they had a hot tub.

The weather and the area was perfect We stayed on site 47 The bounce pillow was never a problem We enjoyed watching the kids play The star gazing hill was a climb but well worth it. The lake was within view. I would recommend this camp area. The only downside is the campground is built on a hillside. When you walk you need to be very careful not to fall. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you

Convenient store, pretty terrain, lake right nearby. I just wish they would bump up the curfew. We were unable to attend multiple events and attractions in surrounding locations because of it. It was also 109 degrees the whole time and we were assigned (upon arrival) one of the few full sun spots. Surrounding sites were full of shade and vacant the whole stay.

Necessary facilities (toilets, showers) are not accessible. My site was not level, at least in range of power source. Price was excessive, beyond what I found prior to or after my stay at other KOAs. To charge for waste dumping is unbelievable given the already outrageous fee charged. Playground equipment seemed to at children occupied and happy...not something I used as an 84 senior.

Only issue I had was that made mistake on my days Had to leave a day earlier than I booked and i explained made error one lady was kind to say would take day off but other lady said couldnt because could have given to another camper. The campsite was empty on the day we had to leave so pretty sure i could have been accomidated this one time.other than that I like campground

We were close to the playground which was so nice because we had our little granddaughter with us. The jumping pillow was a big hit!

We were in a beautifully located spot (#62). The spaces were spacious and the RV area was not at all crowded. We appreciated the camp store, although we did not purchase anything. We didn't do any of the Saturday activities, however, if our grandchildren were with us, we would have. I loved watching the kids and adults enjoy the jump pad. Such a unique feature! We were only at the campground for 1 night. The staff was very friendly. The campground was large, it had a great deal of activities to participate in. We were very satisfied.

Site was not level and the dust from the old roads was miserable. The campsite is in a great area they just need to maintain the camp.

I reserved Site 62, your premiere site. I loved: that it was by itself, could be driven into and directly straight out of, the concrete platform with the wrought iron table and chairs and umbrella, the bigger firepit and chairs, and we enjoyed stargazing late into the night. Thank you for driving us back up the hill on that hot day. Oh, and the pool was great!

We’ve stayed here many times, my husband and I always have a great time. We just arrived home after staying there this week with our son and his family. We made some new friends and met many nice folks. We had a blast!! I have recommended KOA Santa Margarita campground to many of our friends.

Explained to the person on the phone our need to unload a side by side from the toy hauler. Site was on a hill, unable to unload. I had to sleep in my truck for the night after 10 hours of driving. Site was most expensive stay I paid for in the past 3 weeks of camping. Orgeon to AZ.

Site was spacious and clean. Park was calm and quiet. It would be nice if the store was a bit better stocked as there is no local shopping nearby. All in all we had a very nice time.

The camp was quiet, clean and comfortable. I would like to see a little more watering of the roads for dust control. But, at least it was being done.

Campground is clean and has a lot of activities for kids. It's pretty far inland from the beach so it was significantly warmer than expected bit with hook ups and AC it was ok.

Staff went out of the way to open the store after it had closed so I could buy ice. That is what is called going above and beyond. But was I truly heartbroken when I found out Kevin the emu had passed away. We will definitely be back just when it gets cooler though lol

Check in was easy. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The grounds looked great. They had a water slide foam party thing going on which my kids loved!

Pros...scenery and wildlife Cons...WIFI was weak and unreliable, guests and staff speeding around on 95% dirt roads made camps dirty and dusty, and our site wasn't very level.

We had such a wonderful weekend here! The grounds are beautiful and the facilities are clean, staff is incredible. We loved all the fun things they have planned for families, loved the park and pool area as well as the snack shack. We really cannot thank you enough for such an amazing stay!!

Pro: Staff were polite and accommodating. Facilities and campsites were well maintained. Fun weekend events for families. Con: Frisbee golf course not maintained in a long time, chest hight weeds and broken pads. Guy w/beard from site 52 in black toyota truck came to our campfire and started burning check book registers saying “he was going through a bad divorce”. HARD brown water at RV sites

The location is a little out of the way depending on what you want to do. The showers are small, but decent. The staff is nice and there are plenty of activities for the kids on the weekends.

My review is 5 stars because I like the hilly walks, the nature and my kids did too. But I have to juxtapose that to my wife who had challenges and her father had challenges too. This KOA is top tier if you are looking for Southern California nature. But if you have mobility issues, or looking for something more urban, it is probably a no go.
