Quiet spot in a beautiful location. Rv site was just like described. Dog friendly walking paths and a fun dog park in site. Amazing star gazing spot on the grounds and just down the road from hiking and fishing. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Wonderful campground and such a beautiful area. Campspots are scattered around the wooded area with majestic oak trees. Walking distance to Santa Margarita Lake. Friendly staff as well.

We took the 2 grandkids to this KOA in Dec. It was very quiet and we enjoyed the cool air. We loved the giant air pillow and play area. Clean sites and nice employes. We even got to peak inside one of the little cabins. This was our 2nd time and there will be more. Love the area. Thank you!

We spend a week every Thanksgiving and the hosts are always very friendly and helpful. We LOVE the bounce pillow!

Our stay was great. The hook-ups were great and were exactly at the right location for my camper. The Site 28 pad was almost level. The fire pit worked great. The water temperature in the showers could have been a little warmer but was tolerable. Thank you for your hospitallity.

Enjoyed our stay at Santa Margarita KOA. The campground was clean and the employees were friendly. I would stay there again in the future.

Nice place, and we have stayed here before. Staff is friendly and helpful. Restrooms generally OK. Long term campers should be reminded not to have long strings of lights on all night and be playing loud movies and games outside.

Campgrounds were well maintained. The staff were all friendly and helpful! Spots were sized well & the extra amenities for kids were nice!

This location was very beautiful but the KOA itself was a little long in the tooth. The dog park was not open, the frisbee golf area was quite overgrown and it did not seem like much else was well maintained. I loved the deer and the turkeys, and if you walked up to the top, the sunsets are amazing.

Site 30 very uneven. Unable to level properly. Walked the whole area and there are many sites unlevel.Bathroom nearby had mold, dirty in every shower. Some camper had left trash in a sink and that was there all day. Nobody is checking facilities. Hookups were great, area is beautiful of course, but facility staff is not cleaning at all. It is a basic service that needs to be done. Surprises a KOA

We love our Santa Margarita, CA. KOA. The camp sites are well maintained, we love getting our wood delivered, the facilities are very clean, and the staff are always attentive & friendly. We can’t wait for our next trip.

KOA Santa Margarita is awesome!! We did RV camping there for the first time and had a great experience. I love the size of the sites and how it had a full size table! We checked out the store and loved all the items there. Staff was also amazing! Thank you!

I only gave you an 8 because of how far you are off the Hwy. We loved the peace and quiet. The wildlife was fun to watch. Deer, turkeys, squirrels, woodpeckers, and lots of quail. If you love being in the woods with lots of wildlife, this is the campground for you!

We stay at various KOAs, typically at holidays. I would say this one did feel a bit outdated. I lost all overlook when my husband was sprayed with sewage because there was a back up and the employees were ZERO help, were at a complete loss and had the nerve to offer us 20% refund after my husband was covered in their SEWAGE. The situation was very poorly handled. We will certainly never be back

The facilities are very dated and old. We found the bathrooms and showers to be unclean and undesirable. Much was due to the age, no amount of cleaning would bring them back. But the showers were almost too gross to use, and the shower heads were so clogged with hard water that the spray came out haphazardly and the drains would pool water. There were tarantula's in the bathroom stalls.

Campsite itself was nice. Flat, patio table and chairs, fire pit with chairs, bbq, full hook ups. Cons: Constantly barking dogs, the site was far far away from the bathrooms & roads are bad. The bathrooms by the office: many stairs to access the bathroom (no handrails) and discovered there was NO HOT WATER FOR SHOWERS. For $110 a night, ridiculous. We won't return here. We are KOA members.

We stayed for 2 nights at this campground. The setting is soooo peaceful and we had lots of wildlife visiting us. The nights were filled with crickets chirping and the days with birds singing. The facilities are clean and our site was very spacious. The sunset was spectacular.

While most everything worked well here, we still have to say it's a bit below our normal expectations. The reason unfortunately is not something easily or inexpensively fixed; it's just plain dusty here. As noted it would be extremely difficult to pave more of the roads and the cost would be really high, so there's not a lot that can be done. Otherwise it was a good stay.

The campground has many terrain changes (up and down), but our RV back in site was flat , level and shaded. The campground (early Fall but after school had started was extremely peaceful and quiet. There were a few kids enjoying the bouncey thing during the afternoon, but it was perfectly quiet at night.

This was our first stay at this KOA. We were very happy with our site, beautiful scenery. The only downside, rest rooms need serious updates. The showers were borderline disgusting. Honestly need more restrooms throughout the park. Staff was very friendly and thoughtful. Looking forward to our next stay.����

This is our second time staying here and we will be back again! We absolutely love it here. We stayed with 4 other families that had rv’s and my sister stayed in a cabin. The park is clean, they had a bunch of fun activities for the kids and everyone is very friendly. Perfect weekend away!

The location is a little out of the way depending on what you want to do. The showers are small, but decent. The staff is nice and there are plenty of activities for the kids on the weekends.

My review is 5 stars because I like the hilly walks, the nature and my kids did too. But I have to juxtapose that to my wife who had challenges and her father had challenges too. This KOA is top tier if you are looking for Southern California nature. But if you have mobility issues, or looking for something more urban, it is probably a no go.
