Kids had a lot of fun and enjoyed the activities. Pool was a little dirty (could be all the kids jumping in during the day). Was really looking forward to disc golf but was highly disappointed. I lost my driving disc because the course was poorly maintained. Had to quit after 5 holes because the risk of losing discs became too great. Weeds were over waist high and lots of stickers!

The amenities in the cabin made this camping-fearful gal feel right at home. Air conditioning, TP, paper towels, extra dishes, firepit, grill. Lots of activities to keep kids busy. Thank you!

We celebrated my 60th birthday with 11 grandkids (and their parents of course) The kids had so much fun in the pool and the foam pit and the bounce pillow. The staff are always so friendly and accommodating. We all had a wonderful weekend !!

Loved our weekend stay. Cannot wait to go back. Stayed in a deluxe cabin. Staff was amazing. Cabin was upscale and had all we needed to feel very comfortable. Pet friendly. Easy check in and check out. Owner was amazing at making sure we had all we needed. Highly Recommend to everyone who wants to experience a first class vacation �

Mosquitoes aside it's a beautiful campground with amazing views of the lake and very quiet at night. It's great to be in touch with nature and the lake is super fun and SLO is super close if you don't feel like doing a lot of your own cooking. Great place I'd go again.

The campground property is beautiful. Michelle was very helpful. The bathrooms need work and the cabin floors are very dirty. Other than that it was nice. Oh and the rate is the same on busy weekends as it is in the week, that didn’t seem fair.

Was not very happy that they were weedeating and mowing near are cabin every day that we were there .came up there to get away from all the city noises. The prices in store are twice as much as you pay at a grocery store and are dog got skunked when we where sitting at are camp fire.luckly are other dog and we didn't get it.and it was the last night. The cabin was clean, well-stocked and cozy. The views were amazing. The campground was clean, peaceful and full of wild turkeys, chipmunks, woodpeckers, etc. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was an easy walk to lovely Lake Margarita where the fishing was excellent. We were going to tent camp too, but the ground was damp from the rain and everyone really liked the cabin better anyway.

The staff was very helpful very accommodate all the families that came to meet up. Only bad thing wish ithe steeper drive way had more rock for traction. Especially when it rains.

this is our campsite! we live only in atascadero, but feel a world away. the people at the front desk make this place special too. the jumping pad, the flexibility, the activities, the balls on loan, the reasonably priced knik knacks, the charming cabins, the yurt!!!, we will be back. we always come back. thank you!!

We arrived to cabin #85 to find two large 5 gallon orange paint buckets set up for trapping rats/mice. Not a good start, however the staff quickly offered us cabin #87, which apparently has no rodent issues? However, the heater "fan" is so strong when it blows heat, it wakes you up and we could adjust the temperature, but not the strength of the fan-this two pretty sleepless nights.

Beautiful, quiet stay in an incredibly maintained and well laid out campground. Sites weren’t right next to each other and let it feel like you were actually enjoying nature. Wonderfully dark at night to see the stars.

We stay at Santa Margarita KOA a few times throughout the year. Our stays are always a pleasure. Cabins are clean, staff is very friendly and accommodating, camp ground is clean. This is a great place to get away.

Nice cabin (#31) but has a shared wall with another cabin and we could hear every noise bang and step their 2 year old made, I will only stay here again if a stand along cabin is available. Shower in the cabin was unavailable due to extremely low water pressure, KOA completely refunded my $175 fee for this issue so we really appreciated that. This KOA site is nice, clean and well kept

My husband and I love Santa Margarita KOA. We've been vacationing there for years. We stayed in cabin #31 this time, everything was great. The only caveat was the shower. The on demand water heater stopped providing hot water within minutes and we'd have to step out to turn on the hot water to the sink per the directions on the door. The water pressure was extremely low as well. Not a deal breaker

Only complaint we have is the bed was super lumpy and uncomfortable...We have stayed a few times and that was never an issue..Other then that our stay was great as usual.

My review is 5 stars because I like the hilly walks, the nature and my kids did too. But I have to juxtapose that to my wife who had challenges and her father had challenges too. This KOA is top tier if you are looking for Southern California nature. But if you have mobility issues, or looking for something more urban, it is probably a no go.
