Nice pull through site and grounds. Nice staff with activities on the weekend. It was a lot of fun and my family and I made some good memories.

Good location right next to the lake and close to Morro Bay and Pismo Beach. Sites are very roomy and spread out, not like typical KOAs where spaces are crammed together. Pretty good shade throughout. Bathrooms were dated but decently clean, however, during my weekend stay, they were not cleaned at all! With only one bathroom per section and spread out sites, campers had to drive to the bathroom.

Our reserved spot near bathroom was just given away to someone else. The spot they put us in we had to drive to bathrooms! Very disappointed and we will not return.

Really great campground for all types of camping. We have done the fully equipped cabins to a tent site. The staff is always really helpful. Systems for booking and during stay are very convenient. Bathrooms and overall property very well kept.

Only complaint we have is the bed was super lumpy and uncomfortable...We have stayed a few times and that was never an issue..Other then that our stay was great as usual.

The stairs to the restroom felt unsafe my toddler even holding my hand slipped down several times the last time he slipped broke free of my hand and scraped his face after tumbling down thank God the last bottom stairs . The stairs to the cabin had sharp rock edges with no hand rail we actually left late evening prior to checkout due to the anxiety/stress of the stairs

Super easy no-contact check-in. Easy to find your site and sites are a nice size also. Kids loved the jumping pillow!

We loved our camping experience at KOA in Santa Margarita. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The amenities were a plus. We would camp there, again.

It was a wonderful place and we will return. We stayed in a pull-through rv site with a patio, and it was immaculately maintained. The staff were hospitable and helpful. The only downside was the shower area in the ladies’ side. It could use some tlc.

Cabin was great. Kids loved jumping bean and inflatable slide. The party yurt activities were mediocre according to kids and the pool water was cold. Overall, it was a fun time for our family and friends

The cabin was too hot, the door was broken, the hostess was passive aggressive. We left after one night and wouldn’t have stayed that night if we hadn’t driven all day.

Back window of cabin nailed shut so we were unable to open it to let air in. Not only did this make it impossible to cool off and sleep, it was also a huge fire hazard.

Things were good until I was told to move my boat from the camp site to an unsecured area. I have expensive stuff on my boat and was told cameras are everywhere. Cameras do not prevent thieves from stealing. Some of the equipment I have was inherited from my Dad, it is irreplaceable. I will not camp at this KOA again unless they change this rule. There is nothing written about this rule.

sorry were not a marina you have been here twice, and the rule has not changed and were not responsible for any theft to your boats and the area is secure and we have security all night

We purchased a full hook up to include potable water. We scheduled out stay 1-2 days in advance. There was no one in the office when we arrived at 1:00, check in time, said out to lunch. Tbit papers with our site outside to pick up. We went to our site filled with water& hooked up. A note in there said to boil water. Should have called us contaminated water is now in our tanks.

a stapled notice was on everyone map and it was only a precaution due to normal routine maintenance. there was ZERO contamination thanks Management

There were only 2 negatives. 1.GOAT HEADS and 2. FOXTAILS. These weeds can be very dangerous for dogs and we couldn't even escape them in the dog park and because of them we won't be back nor can we recommend the campground to our dog loving family and friends.

Goat heads is not a reason to not come back or refer your friends this is a country campground we do our best to eliminate pesky weeds and etc as we all own dogs here. luckily there is a campground out there for everyone. Managment

Great campground for the kids! The giant pillow and the pool entertained them for hours at a time. I didn't get any requests for "screen time" for the whole time we were camping! The sites and bathrooms were very clean. We had a great time!

We had a terrific time at the KOA campground. Lisa and Wolf and their team are very helpful, kind and friendly. Santa Margarita is a hidden gem and we are fortunate to live close enough to come a few times a year.

It was a nice campground. Well kept up. Had to wear bands to use facility and apparently there were different colored bands per day and we were not told about that so when we entered the pool we were told we had the wrong colored band on. That was the one we were given for check in. Overall it is nice and clean. We had a nice big corner lot.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Wristbands for the pool became necessary this summer to ensure our guests could enjoy the pool. Campers from a nearby campground whose pool was closed a lot were overwhelming our pool. We're sorry about the mix-up with your wristbands. We hope wristbands won't be needed in the future.

This campground is A+++! First: the grounds are beautiful. Views are amazing. Near a very cool lake. Second: sites are neat! We have stayed in an RV site and a cabin. In both cases, we were super happy with the set-up: we were separate (privacy) but not lonely or freaked out. The cabin: O M G!!!!!!! BEAUTIFUL view! Room for everyone, PLUS indoor plumbing! Third, and most important: The people. We broke an axle on the RV on the way in, and the women bent over backwards to help us out. They recommended a tow company, gave us access to their connection, and were SOOOOOO helpful and concerned and helpful and kind and…!!!!! Just outstanding women! Thank you SO MUCH to Karen and co-worker! Because of YOU (and your beautiful campground) we will always come back!
