This was our 2nd time staying over Thanksgiving with family in sites nearby. We love it. We utilized 2 sites next to each other, 1 site just below and 1 cabin. It was perfect. We parked head in with our motorhome and our daughters fam backed in their trailer. We had a beautiful common space between us. We were told head in was not allowed, and they let us slide this time. Can this rule be changed?

We stay at Santa Margarita KOA a few times throughout the year. Our stays are always a pleasure. Cabins are clean, staff is very friendly and accommodating, camp ground is clean. This is a great place to get away.

Nice cabin (#31) but has a shared wall with another cabin and we could hear every noise bang and step their 2 year old made, I will only stay here again if a stand along cabin is available. Shower in the cabin was unavailable due to extremely low water pressure, KOA completely refunded my $175 fee for this issue so we really appreciated that. This KOA site is nice, clean and well kept

Very friendly and helpful staff. Answered all of our questions and very knowledgeable staff. Staff was amazing when interacting with our kids. Very clean and lots of wildlife to view.

Probably the nicest site we had on our 2 week odyssey through central California. Too bad we arrived late and had to leave early. Our site was at the top of the campground. It’s sitting on a hill but was somehow one of the most level sites of our trip.

Such a beautiful place to relax and enjoy with friends & families. Santa Margarita KOA was quiet, environments were well maintained, friendly staff and enough spaces for each camp site.

Beautiful campground. Near the lake and a short drive into historic Santa Maria and my birth home, Garden Farms. Great restaurants and friendly people. Lots of interesting wildlife all around.

It was a amazing, super friendly, quiet, and clean. We enjoyed the activities for the kids also, you don’t see many camping areas with kid friendly activities. We will definitely be returning, and letting family and friends know about this!

Staff was super friendly and helpful; they let us know all the cool activities we could do there. Clean campsites, good access to super clean bathrooms! Our favorite was the disc golf course attached to the KOA and the cute antiquing downtown if you want to venture out of the campground. Shout out to Daisy at the office who was super cool and made us feel welcome. This place gained new regulars!

We were here in mid October for one night passing through, had a great RV site, clean, hardly anyone here, VERY quiet, friendly staff, saw a family of deer!

My husband and I love Santa Margarita KOA. We've been vacationing there for years. We stayed in cabin #31 this time, everything was great. The only caveat was the shower. The on demand water heater stopped providing hot water within minutes and we'd have to step out to turn on the hot water to the sink per the directions on the door. The water pressure was extremely low as well. Not a deal breaker

OMG best staff EVER!!!!!! DAISY, MICHELL, LISA were SO attentive and helpful as well as Wolf and Brandy. The outside worker fellas (sorry don't know names) were always ready with a smile and a 'good morning'!

It was nice to get away, but I also needed to work and it was too remote for Internet. There is a Wi-Fi connection at the campground but it was very bad. This campground has a lot of twisty dirt roads on several elevations. It may be difficult to maneuver a larger RV in there. Also, not KOA’s fault, but the flies were horrible, we couldn’t stay outside for long. Also a skunk invaded our campsi

Great stay, this time site 57 stayed but Firday 330 talking and Saturday night it was 430 they went to bed. Saundra’s morning I picked up candy wrappers and some pistachios shell they weren’t very respective of the camp grounds. We decided not to call the after hours number, because they need their rest to keep this beautiful campground clean. Looking forward to our next stay. Thank you and Go

I wasn't very fond of the set up and the list of rules. I get they are needed but they were a bit excessive in my opinion. The showers were gross. The woman's had a bandaid left on the floor the whole time I was there the first shower didn't drain and they just looked dirty. I ended up using the men's room cause it seamed cleaner however they had q tips left in it the whole time.

Beautiful location. Managers were very helpful and interactive, also nice! Facilities were well serviced. Only problem we had, was location of site on a significant incline. Hard to back in.

This campground is A+++! First: the grounds are beautiful. Views are amazing. Near a very cool lake. Second: sites are neat! We have stayed in an RV site and a cabin. In both cases, we were super happy with the set-up: we were separate (privacy) but not lonely or freaked out. The cabin: O M G!!!!!!! BEAUTIFUL view! Room for everyone, PLUS indoor plumbing! Third, and most important: The people. We broke an axle on the RV on the way in, and the women bent over backwards to help us out. They recommended a tow company, gave us access to their connection, and were SOOOOOO helpful and concerned and helpful and kind and…!!!!! Just outstanding women! Thank you SO MUCH to Karen and co-worker! Because of YOU (and your beautiful campground) we will always come back!
