Always such a great stay. Staff is excellent & I love the patrol to make sure everything is going well. I was very happy they had some last minute cabins available. The only thing that was a problem was other campers not having there dogs on a leash & allowing it to roam around and crap all over & not pick up after it. They should be given a warning & then fined $75.

We love visiting this KOA tucked away in Santa Margarita country hills. The staff are always accommodating and very helpful. The grounds & facilities are kept very clean, and close to many attractions. We will definitely be back. Thank you especially to Michelle & Daisy (and the crew). See you soon!

Great time. Cabin was nice and clean. One minor issue with Cabin 80- bad odor concentrated in the kitchen that we either, got used to or it reduced the longer we we had the doors and windows open.

I stayed at four different KOAs in one week as I traveled from Oklahoma to California. This was my favorite! We loved the campground setting, our little log cabin, the jumping pillow, pool and other amenities.

Hot in this area in summer. Pool is quite a walk down. Jumping pillow and foam pit on Saturday were awesome. Not a bike ride campground, too inclined. Hayride was just a tour of the campground and the history- not worth the $6/person.

We meet with Navy Diver friends for a celebration of life for another Navy Diver that had pasted away We remember him via navydivermemorial.org. Our time was enjoyable, it would have been nice if we could have all camped together.

Had a nice time with family& was happy they were able to put us next to eachother. Was NOT impressed with the dust & lack of respect from people driving too fast on the roads kicking up dust. They need to enforce & lower the speed limits very very dusty.

We stayed just 1 night at cabin #23. But it was a very enjoyable stay. I love the CLEAN BATHROOMS! My husband took a shower & was glad there was hot water. Enjoyed the pool too. Cabin was clean as was our camp site. This was our 2nd time here & we definitely know we will stay here many more times in the future!

I’ve been to several KOAs in California, but this one was ���. The front desk and snack shack staff were kind and professional, but the layout is terrible for biking, the kids’ activities weren’t fun, and worst of all, our cabin was filthy. The floor made our feet black within minutes, the cups and dishes were dirty, the cabinet was dusty, and the coffee maker even had a moldy wet filte

This place is filthy. I would never recommend it to anyone. The cabin was infested with ants everywhere, the bathroom sink, kitchen sink, little dining table. The kitchen towels were disgustingly dirty. The kitchen utensils (plates, cups and glasses were unwashed). Our friends in the adjacent cabin found mold in their coffee pot.

I just felt like everything was really dirty. Bathrooms always had food and hair in the sink. Men’s bathroom stall on bathroom row was clogged for a whole day and there was only one stall. One of the showers in the woman’s bathroom wasn’t shooting good. The dishes sink by our camp (35) was clogged with food. Pool was disguisting

We had a family reunion with people stayed in cabins, tents and RV/Trailer spots. All 3 RV/Trailer spots were all messed up and not reserved at all. Michelle was able to find spots for us. So that was a miracle I thought. The office assigned one spot which already occupied by someone. The 4th RV/Trailer booked separately from the group reservation also got jerk around twice at different site.

Our shower pressure in a cabin was very low, to us the Sabin was on the smaller size for four people but we made it work. Different KOA experience for us compared to Petaluma and Watsonville. Loved the distance to beach, got there in a jiffy. Brought a dog and the dog park was closed for construction and not noted on the website. Summer hours, pool closes at 8pm, that’s a bummer.

Location is good what we were looking for. Cabin is clean and comfortable. This place is good for nature lovers, with many trees and shades. Staff are good and answer questions clearly. We'd like to come back again for our future vacations.

I have never been to this part of California and was surprised at the beautiful setting in which the KOA campground is in. It is very shaded and there were many activities for families. It was fun to watch fellow campers jumping on the balloon bounce in the playground. Karen is especially helpful on the phone as I was traveling from far away. Everything was clean and I felt very safe.

All the other KOA’s that we stayed at on our trip cleaned the bathrooms daily. Their sign said periodically it should be daily. Bo was very nice she left me a roll of quarters to wash and dry with and I paid her back the next morning.

This place has thought of everything! We only stayed one night, but we could've stayed a week. There are so many things to do and explore, it will keep the family busy and happy the whole stay.

It's a nice enough campground with a couple unique amenities but overpriced; especially for mid-week. Most of the activities were on the weekend and I think the mid-week price should be adjusted to reflect this. A lot of uphill. Mostly dirt and scrub oak for scenery. In walking around, some of the tent sites seem dangerous (near edges) and small. Bathrooms were nice and the pool was fun.

For the price of the cabins I wish they had AC/some kind of cooling unit for summer as they have heaters for winter. The staff is amazingly knowledgeable and joyful as well as helpful. The events held on the weekends for the visitors include night hikes, movies under the Stars, s’mores, Haybale rides and more. We will definitely be coming back.

Stayed in a “deluxe” cabin, where everything was worn, old, janky, or non functional. Dirty dishes, multiple stray hairs on towels and sheets. The “blankets” for the kids’ beds were so old and worn out I wouldn’t use them for a dog. The steep and narrow path going up to the cabin was unpaved and our car stalled out bc it’s not 4WD and we were cut off by a KOA truck right as we creste

We stayed in a tent site at the Santa Margarita KOA for ten days while visiting family in the area. Our stay overall was very good. Pros: a well stocked camp store, very helpful staff, and a very clean, well maintained and beautiful campground. My review is 5 stars because I like the hilly walks, the nature and my kids did too. But I have to juxtapose that to my wife who had challenges and her father had challenges too. This KOA is top tier if you are looking for Southern California nature. But if you have mobility issues, or looking for something more urban, it is probably a no go.
