We traveled from Hickory North Carolina on our way to California and up to Yellowstone. This RV park was absolutely by far one of the most beautiful and best run RV parks we have ever stayed at. The sites were absolutely immaculate. The employees were so cheerful and so helpful. We must have commented at least 15 times how wonderful the park was would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone

Very nice clean park. Would be good to know the shower code changed. Also, cleaning showers and bathrooms before checkout time is inconvenient.

Great stay! Wonderful pool area! Sent a daily text on events for the day! Food on site was delicious!

The San Antonio/Alamo is an outstanding place to stay. There is every amenity there that you could possibly need or expect from a campground/RV resort. The onsite cafe that offered great food at very reasonable prices was certainly a much appreciated service. Additionally - the close proximity of the campground to the beautiful downtown area of San Antonio makes it the perfect place to stay.

This is a great campground! Friendly staff, a restaurant with inexpensive breakfasts and dinners, clean restrooms, and adjacent to a scenic bike path. We really enjoyed staying here.

We always enjoy our stay there. The folks are always very friendly and helpful. The park is exceptionally clean and well kept.

pros: nice place, clean, secure, professional/personable staff, dog friendly, resort-feel (for someone who typically stays at state parks or dispersed camping / boondocking), mid-week discount cons: "not" inexpensive (i.e. for one fella and his dogs to spend upwards of 100$ -I don't usually pay this much to camp in my travel trailer) - perhaps more suitable for high-end class A and Airstream type

Beautiful RV park. So clean and fresh!

This is a very nice RV park. The only thing keeping from a 5 star rating is that the sites are not paved. Everything else is very nice. The cafe is a nice amenity and the roads in the park are nice and smooth. The staff is friendly and it is conveniently located. Uber to the River Walk and the Alamo is about $20 to $25 dollars.

This was our second time to stay at the San Antonio KOA and both visits have been great. It is well maintained with nice facilities and lots of fun activities. It is nicely located as well, with only a short drive to the River Walk and the Pearl. We enjoyed the breakfasts at their Patio Café as well.

Truly a beautiful campsite. The grounds were well kept and the sites provided shades d privacy. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. After we were escorted to our site, the gentleman chatted with us and provided us amazing information about San Antonio. So incredibly nice in today’s busy world. Totally a great place to stay!

We have stayed here several times. We like it for several reasons: friendly staff, clean facilities, roomy/shady sites, bike/walking trail, activities for kids & adults, easy access to city bus to go to Riverwalk or reasonable Uber rates to get there, close proximity to Fort Sam. Love the family environment.

Fantastic RV Oasis in San Antonio! A resounding 5 stars for the San Antonio Alamo KOA! As full-time RVers we've seen our fair share of campgrounds, and this KOA truly stands out. Everything during our stay was exceptional. The RV sites were spacious, well-maintained, and provided easy hookups. We were particularly impressed with the overall cleanliness of the entire park, from the sites themselves to the common areas. It's clear the staff takes great pride in maintaining a pristine environment. Speaking of the staff, every interaction was a pleasure. They were consistently friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to ensure guests had a great experience. This level of customer service really makes a difference. The amenities here were a big plus. The on-site Cafe was a convenient and enjoyable option for grabbing a delicious breakfast. We also loved having access to the sparkling pool, which was a perfect way to cool off and relax. The adjacent walking area next to the park was great for stretching our legs and enjoying some fresh air without having to venture far. Overall, our experience at the San Antonio Alamo KOA was top-notch. From the practical aspects like great sites and cleanliness to the enjoyable amenities like the cafe, pool, and walking paths, all underscored by a fantastic staff – we couldn't have asked for more. We highly recommend this KOA to fellow RVers and anyone looking for a wonderful stay in San Antonio! We will definitely be back.

If you're planning a visit to San Antonio and want to be near the downtown action while still enjoying peace and greenery, Alamo KOA is the spot. Tucked behind an industrial corridor, this campground feels like a hidden retreat, lush, tree-filled, and surrounded by nature. A paved walking and biking trail runs along the property's edge, stretching for seven miles. Perfect for runners, walkers, or anyone wanting to move after a long day on the road. We rolled in on a Friday with our 36-foot Super C RV and Jeep in tow. Though they initially gave us two spots, our rig and tow vehicle would have easily fit in one. Regardless, the welcome was warm and the service professional. The gentleman at the desk, who we later found out has a hotel management background and full-times between seasonal gigs, was helpful, patient, and clearly proud of the place. He is the kind of staff member that elevates a stay from good to great. The park itself is immaculate. Truly one of the best-maintained we've stayed at, with staff regularly mowing and keeping everything tidy. There is a store, a laundry room, and a small restaurant serving pizza, wings, egg tacos, and pancakes. Movie nights and bingo offer family-friendly fun. There is a pond for fishing, a pool for relaxing, and even pedal car and bike rentals for some old-fashioned campground charm. The weekends see a flurry of activity, but by Sunday night the place settles into a tranquil rhythm. We appreciated the quiet, with just the occasional distant train rolling by to remind us we were still near a city. On Monday, we chatted with a few of the long-timers and staff, all friendly and welcoming. Someone had asked us on Facebook whether the campground was dusty, based on a past review they had seen. We can confidently say not at all. In fact, with recent rains, the grounds were lush and green. Dust in Texas is just a reality during dry spells, but this spot is well-shielded and far from barren or exposed. Another bonus, they accept package deliveries and have a secure package room available when needed. In short, we would not hesitate to stay again. Peaceful, convenient, and managed with care, Alamo KOA made our San Antonio stop comfortable and easy. Thomas Corrao #straycompasslife
