Our local area is well known for the World Famous Hot Springs. These sulfur-free hot springs are open year-round except for Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Driving distance from the KOA registration/general store is two minutes. Walking distance is about eight minutes. Our newest deluxe cabins are only 150 yards away from the hot springs. The Olympic Swimming Complex is open everyday from Memorial Day until Labor Day and Indoor Aquatic Center with Portneuf Kiddie Cove is open year-round with limited weekend hours during the off season. When visiting, you have a wide array of activities to do; Zipline, Wagon Rides, Shopping, Dining, Museum, Hiking, Walking, Bingo, Massage & More. Idaho Parks & Recreation has online Bike and ATV Trail Maps for our area. There are many unmapped trails in the area. To ride on paved roads in Lava Hot Springs and surrounding area, all ATV's and dirt bikes must have insurance, registration, and license with off road sticker on the vehicle. They must also have a rear view mirror, horn, tail light, headlight, brake light, turn signals and riders under 18 years old must wear a helmet. You cannot ride on any STATE or FEDERAL maintained roadway. County roads o.k. unless restricted by individual county, city, etc.

The City of Soda Springs is 25 minutes away, where you will find a fun captive geyser, watch it every hour on the hour, Oregon Trail ruts running through the 8th hole of their golf course, natural fizzy water, and one of the last Drive-In Theaters in the state!

Caribou National Forest is 20 minutes away, where you can ride on ATV's or enjoy a hike in the Pebble Creek resort area.  View the Portneuf Falls just outside of Lava Hot Springs 8414 So. Blaser Hwy.
