Everything was great. Staff was excellent, and the kids loved the wagon rides! Only thing missing is trees!

Great time, people & facilities

It’s a nice campground but stores and Resterant aren’t open past 5:00pm and there’s really not much happening We were put in a site next to the bathrooms and our dogs barked because people were in and out all day and night. I asked for a site backing in but she gave us a pull thru. Very close sites too.

Friendly staff and very clean and organized campground.

My feeling is that I do believe you charged way too much money for a 3-day stay, especially when you did not have a pool. I would strongly advise looking into that situation. Other than that we had a lovely time. Thank you

We had a great stay on a Riverside site. The area was well maintained and clean. The riverside recreational area was very appealing with benches and hammocks available to relax. The staff was very helpful especially when we ran into a little “glitch” with our coach. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely wonderful experience. Easy, clean, and the staff was more than amazing and always went above and beyond.

Great place to stay and close to Lake Placid. Lots to do, biking, hiking, and touring the Olympic Parks. Site 86 across the road was better, more trees and less of a parking lot look kayaking on Ausible River was awesome. Need a pool

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The park is very clean and well manicured with mowing , clean sites and big sites on the Riverside . Highly recommend this park and plan to stay again when we come to that area again.

Nice roomy campsites. Stayed on the mountainside where there are trees and not open camp spots. Sites were clean, and I didn’t feel like I was too close to the person next to us. Staff were friendly. The camp store has a lot to offer! Nice facilities. They do have some things for kids but no pool or lake on site. Plenty of hiking, and the campground is close, 20 minutes away from Lake Placid.

The new area down the street is very nice. A pool would certainly be a huge improvement. It is close enough to everything but yet far enough away.

This was a Holiday KOA and not impressed at all. We paid $130 a night. Sites not paved, no pool, just out in an open field. Not impressed at all and paid way too much!!

We loved our Riverside site. It was spacious and everything was in good shape and neat. The staff in the office and around the grounds were very friendly and helpful. We hope to come back in august.

The campground we stayed in is fantastic! We stayed on the mountain side, which was beautiful with so many trees and cool breezes. The river side is very bare. If you like trees stay in the mountain side for sure! Everyone was super helpful and kind, there was not a negative thing about our entire stay! We are definitely coming back!

This is our favorite KOA! We camped at the Fox Farm Rd. campground for over 40 years (and enjoyed it there very much) and we are continuing to camp at your new KOA on Route 86 (woods side) since you've been open the past few years. The staff is always helpful, responsive and the sites are clean and well kept. We look forward to returning again next June!

Another great visit to Lake Placid/Whiteface Mtn KOA! This is our summer home away from home. Our 4th season at this campground. We simply love it. Beautiful RV sites in the woods. Very clean, peaceful and quiet. Our sanctuary to get away from the crazy world we live in. Perfectly located to enjoy nature--yet the buzz of Lake Placid is only a 20-minute drive away. PERFECTION!

Warm welcome from staff, quickly got us booked and directed to our site for the stay. This was our first stay at a KOA, so will learn if I can request site rather than have one assigned. While the camp site was not very busy, our preference would have been to stay further from the exit. That said we did meet lots of folks and dogs ... Campsite was well maintained & clean.

Nice enough. No mirrors in bath house? Makes it tough to shave.

Just north of Lake Placid. Peaceful while I was there. Riverside is new still propagating grass. They have resident geese which leave deposits. Had to extend my stay while waiting for mail to catch up, not a problem.

Outstanding facility, clean and well organized. The dog park was a bonus to provide our dogs good legs stretching opportunities. I will soon get back to this site. Thanks again

We stayed on the River view side. It is a newer campground with large sites and a great new set of restrooms/showers. Extremely clean. They have a lot of seating by the river and hammocks. They have a dog park and nice playground for children.

Everything was so clean. Garbage pickup in the morning was wonderful. I would definitely stay at another KOA campground.

Very nice people during interactions, grounds were well maintained, bathrooms were A+, good location as it’s away from the busy part of Lake Placid. Only issues were the geese having been allowed to take over the river area, which is otherwise a peaceful spot. Also the shape and placement of sites was an issue. Your face to face with another camper. Not enough gravel on the stair side.

Loved staying at this campground and already want to plan another trip to go back for longer.

Beautiful location and wonderful Hospitality! I didn't actually stay at this location but I did have some car trouble so I pulled off the road into their driveway. Chris came over on the golf cart and immediately asked us if we needed help, offered their rest room, and even offered us refreshments while we were fixing an issue with the brakes on our truck. Two other employees also came over to offer assistance and tools. Really good people, clean facilities and an overall pleasant atmosphere! Definitely will be back, next time to stay!

This was hands down the best KOA I've been to so far. Stay on the mountainside if you can! The riverside is still nice, with good amenities, but there are very few trees. On the mountainside, it's beautifully forested, almost state park level. The bathrooms and showers were super nice and clean. EVERYONE was super lovely and pleasant, and helpful. The jump pad, corn hole, and ladderball were nicely set up and fun. The two gift shops were adorable. Beautiful location, close to so much.

We spent six lovely nights at the Lake Placid / Whiteface Mountain KOA and had a wonderful stay. As campers who typically prefer smaller, family-owned campgrounds, we were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed this KOA. We stayed in the Mountainside section, which features mature trees that provide plenty of shade and create a true outdoor camping atmosphere. In contrast, the Riverside section is much more open and grassy and felt more like an RV parking area. We were very happy with our Mountainside site. Upon arrival, our Starlink satellite unexpectedly malfunctioned, which was disappointing because we had hoped to watch select FIFA World Cup matches during our stay. Fortunately, the campground's Wi-Fi was more than adequate for streaming the games, with only minimal freezing or buffering. We were grateful to still be able to enjoy the matches while camping. The campground store was exceptionally well stocked with camping supplies, food and drink essentials (including locally made craft beers), gifts, and apparel. In fact, we were very impressed with the quality of the clothing selection. The T-shirts and sweatshirts were higher quality and more attractive than many of the souvenirs we found in downtown Lake Placid. Location is one of this campground's greatest strengths. It is just a short drive from the shops, restaurants, Olympic venues, and attractions of Lake Placid. It is even closer to the Whiteface Mountain Veterans Memorial Highway, which provides access to the summit of Whiteface Mountain. The surrounding area also offers countless hiking trails and outdoor recreation opportunities. As an added bonus, there is a charming snack and ice cream stand, established in 1968, located directly across the street from the campground. This KOA serves as an excellent basecamp for exploring everything the Adirondack Mountains have to offer. We visited in late spring before most schools had let out for the summer, so the campground was wonderfully quiet throughout our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, the grounds were clean and well maintained, and we always felt safe and secure. We especially appreciated the short hiking trails around the perimeter of the campground, which were perfect for walking our dogs between the Adirondacks' frequent pop-up mountain rain showers. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would happily return. In fact, we're already planning to!
