Campground Reviews

Have been staying at that campground previously North Pole for over 20 years. Was disappointed when it was sold to KOA but now that we've stayed there for the 3rd year we also love KOA. They have lots of activities for kids. Great time as usual...

The campground personnel in the office was very pleasant. The only thing is since we moved from the Fox Rd site, there is nothing for older children to do or a place for them to hang out. I usually pay for 2-3 cabins and 3 sites each year for a family get away. I am hoping this coming year I will be able to get my direct TV to come in. See you in 2026!

Very enjoyable. Entrance signs need larger and updated. Hard to no when to enter in dark

Cost is the only reason we don’t rate the visit a 5. Also, we hope KOA will invest in tree planting at the Riverside campground. Lastly, odd placement of the site marker (238) made it difficult to position our camper due to our slide out. Recommend you move the marker further to the left, more in line with the electrical panel. Our site seemed unique in this odd marker placement.

Great location. Friendly & helpful staff. Clean and well maintained facilities. Spacious campsites with plenty of room between campsites. Our stay was during Columbus Day Weekend and the Canadian Thanksgiving. It was also the weekend the campground was celebrating Halloween. There were lots of activities for everyone - children & adults. We had a very nice experience at this KOA campground.

We had fun but we did not stay in the campground much. We will most likely visit again in the future.

We stayed on the riverside part of the camp, it was clean, with spacious sites. I did use the bath house on our day of departure, it was also clean and was warm (we were there Columbus Day weekend). The staff that we interacted with were super friendly! We will be back.

Great location, campgrounds, staff, vibes! Really enjoyed the stay. Fantastic views of the surroundings. Staffer Jay was really helpful with whatever I needed. I appreciated the two locations across the street from each other. Great job

Beautiful wooded setting. Our site had a pavilion and Adirondack chairs to make it homey. We'd stay again.

We stayed on the river side and really enjoyed it. Had great views from the site as well as awesome sitting areas with great views by the river. The bathrooms were really nice and very clean.

We liked how quiet it was, being right on the river and the nice level full hook-up site. Also, it was great to have water, electric and sewer connections in such perfect condition. I would have preferred to have the site a few inches higher to provide a bit more pitch to the sewer connection, but that isn’t really a big deal. More trees and vegetation around and between sites would be nice.

We loved this campground. Close to everything.

We stayed in the motel portion of this KOA. The facilities were well appointed, clean and comfortable. This KOA was very convenient. The staff was very helpful and the campground/facilities seem very well maintained. The only issue was there were a number of flys in the room. We were able to dispatch the flys ourselves and enjoy a restful nights sleep. I would definitely recommend this KOA.

Wasn’t expecting the Riverside section to be a trailer park. No photos were available when I booked but they should be. We had our friend visit with his transit van in our lot. He was forced to move, even though the people in the site next to us were doing the exact same thing for multiple nights. The GM spoke to us, but not to them. We chose not to ruin our neighbors day, but I have photo pro

The stay was ok. Cabin was decent. Pot & pan set was missing pieces. One small frying pan. Six cereal bowls for a cabin for eight. Light over stove didn’t work. Sink stopper was broken. Also hit with a $100 charge because kids slept in the truck bed after a rough night on futon. No warning or request to move inside. Penalty charge not mentioned in policies. Nicer places for the money pai

Beautiful and well maintained campground! Would've rated it 5 stars if not for a mixup with the booking and reservation process.

Your sight is pretty and clean. But the management is unprofessional and rude, and for them, reasons, I will tell everyone I know not to go to you

We enjoyed our stay very much! We moved to this KOA CG because of the availability of WiFi. We loved the strength of the WiFi! We stayed in a deluxe pull through spot. I normally do not spend that amount of money on aCG. But, we were totally satisfied!

We spent six lovely nights at the Lake Placid / Whiteface Mountain KOA and had a wonderful stay. As campers who typically prefer smaller, family-owned campgrounds, we were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed this KOA. We stayed in the Mountainside section, which features mature trees that provide plenty of shade and create a true outdoor camping atmosphere. In contrast, the Riverside section is much more open and grassy and felt more like an RV parking area. We were very happy with our Mountainside site. Upon arrival, our Starlink satellite unexpectedly malfunctioned, which was disappointing because we had hoped to watch select FIFA World Cup matches during our stay. Fortunately, the campground's Wi-Fi was more than adequate for streaming the games, with only minimal freezing or buffering. We were grateful to still be able to enjoy the matches while camping. The campground store was exceptionally well stocked with camping supplies, food and drink essentials (including locally made craft beers), gifts, and apparel. In fact, we were very impressed with the quality of the clothing selection. The T-shirts and sweatshirts were higher quality and more attractive than many of the souvenirs we found in downtown Lake Placid. Location is one of this campground's greatest strengths. It is just a short drive from the shops, restaurants, Olympic venues, and attractions of Lake Placid. It is even closer to the Whiteface Mountain Veterans Memorial Highway, which provides access to the summit of Whiteface Mountain. The surrounding area also offers countless hiking trails and outdoor recreation opportunities. As an added bonus, there is a charming snack and ice cream stand, established in 1968, located directly across the street from the campground. This KOA serves as an excellent basecamp for exploring everything the Adirondack Mountains have to offer. We visited in late spring before most schools had let out for the summer, so the campground was wonderfully quiet throughout our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, the grounds were clean and well maintained, and we always felt safe and secure. We especially appreciated the short hiking trails around the perimeter of the campground, which were perfect for walking our dogs between the Adirondacks' frequent pop-up mountain rain showers. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would happily return. In fact, we're already planning to!

This is a good place to bunker down for the night. I rented the single room cabin. The room had a mini fridge and three beds. Furthermore, there was a nice space heater that really warmed up the room. Each cabin has a parking space in front of the building. Overall, it's a great place to rest for the night especially if you're trying to get an early start on hikes nearby.
