We started on a riverside site-lovely and new but not our preferred camping style. Fortunately, you were able to move us and we couldn’t have loved our new site more. Perfect spot under the trees, lots of space, and very peaceful. Staff terrific! But, kids riding around way too fast on e-bikes. Dangerous, because people don’t drive the speed limit either! Also, Are the roads one way or not?

We stayed in a double bedroom cabin and it was very clean. The outside of the cabin was also very clean. KOA is in a great location near attractions and scenery. The one downfall was the gas grill that I planned on using for meals had a leak. It did feel safe to use with the hissing sound and leak so I did need to rethink my cooking. I did report it to the office.

Some family were having 2,3 and even 4 dogs and there was a lot of dog poo close to the river. Some were not having dog poo bag with them

We reserved the site in October 2024 for a 3-night stay in July 2025. At the time of booking, we were not given any option to choose a site. When we arrived to check in, we were assigned what is likely the very worst campsite at the campground; It was next to the loud highway, with zero trees/privacy with the neighboring site. VERY overpriced. There should be tiered pricing based on site quality.

The sites are nothing more than row upon row of small parking pads. We stayed at the Riverside site. The Mountainside looked a bit better, but the old site on Fox Farm Road was superior to both Riverside and Mountainside. There were no amenities to speak of at Riverside. All in all, not a great stay for 8 nights.

New and nice, no issues. Very nice river access. Can't complain because we knew going in the riverside lot was an open field turned into a campground so zero shade. Friendly staff and they had everything we needed.

Riverside was nothing but a parking lot . A shame that all the trees were removed, not a single bit of shade on this side. Sites are not level either. How do you build a new campground and don’t have level sites ? The area by the River was however beautiful with hammocks, chairs, and firepits

We loved the location with our cabin tucked into the woods which had a nice camping feel. Compared to two other KOAs we've stayed at, the amenities were not as good. No pool, tiny jump pad located at a different part of the campground down the road a bit, game room with minimal things to do. The condition/layout of the cabin wasn't as good. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.

Almost everything about our stay was wonderful. The staff are friendly and helpful, the sites are tucked among the trees and well-sized, the location is close to town and activities in the area, and everything is clean and well-kept. However, the bathhouse among the sites only has three bathrooms that has the toilet and shower in each. That’s not nearly enough.

We had a riverside back in site. Gravel level sites. Newer section of this campground. The restrooms and showers were clean and brand new. Would stay here again.

We stayed in the Motel and our kids and grandchildren camped. We found the Motel exceptionally clean and very nice. We quite enjoyed our stay. The only reason I would not rate a 5 is because when booking , we were led to believe that bikes were available to rent and as it turned out, they only had tricycles for children. We found it was too long a walk from the Motel to the campsite.

Very disappointed. Worst value KOA stay in all our year’s of frequenting KOA. Site was not level, no grass, our view was the dumpsters and koa vehicles. Booked it 2 months in advance and was the worst pull through site in the park. The price was the highest ever paid so expected much more

For the VERY expensive of the site, it seems completely reasonable to have a choice where we chose to sleep. This is the only campground we have ever been to that did not allow anyone to sleep in a tent outside of our camper. Has absolutely nothing to do with "we have tent sites for that". We had 3 people in our party, plenty of room, and one wanted to pitch a tent. Completely ridiculous.

It's a disappointment after the Fox Farm KOA. It was under staffed, staff were not friendly, few activities, wood was wet, toilet had issues, ceiling fan had issues, coffee maker leaked, fire pit was cleaned out a day early so not fire on the last night. The Riverside area was sad to look at - they cleared out a beautiful wooded area and made it look like a desert (the old North Pole campground).

Over all a nice KOA. I stayed in the new section next to the Ausable River. Gravel sites but would have been so much better if they had been concrete site; I know, big difference in construction costs, I get it. What I don’t understand is why they don’t put vacant/in use dead bolts on the restroom doors. Also, the shower heads were located way too low. I pity the tall person taking a showe

The staff that greet you were wonderful. The mountainside areas are absolutely magnificent. Would have preferred separate shower and toilet.And ventilation for bathroom!

We spent six lovely nights at the Lake Placid / Whiteface Mountain KOA and had a wonderful stay. As campers who typically prefer smaller, family-owned campgrounds, we were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed this KOA. We stayed in the Mountainside section, which features mature trees that provide plenty of shade and create a true outdoor camping atmosphere. In contrast, the Riverside section is much more open and grassy and felt more like an RV parking area. We were very happy with our Mountainside site. Upon arrival, our Starlink satellite unexpectedly malfunctioned, which was disappointing because we had hoped to watch select FIFA World Cup matches during our stay. Fortunately, the campground's Wi-Fi was more than adequate for streaming the games, with only minimal freezing or buffering. We were grateful to still be able to enjoy the matches while camping. The campground store was exceptionally well stocked with camping supplies, food and drink essentials (including locally made craft beers), gifts, and apparel. In fact, we were very impressed with the quality of the clothing selection. The T-shirts and sweatshirts were higher quality and more attractive than many of the souvenirs we found in downtown Lake Placid. Location is one of this campground's greatest strengths. It is just a short drive from the shops, restaurants, Olympic venues, and attractions of Lake Placid. It is even closer to the Whiteface Mountain Veterans Memorial Highway, which provides access to the summit of Whiteface Mountain. The surrounding area also offers countless hiking trails and outdoor recreation opportunities. As an added bonus, there is a charming snack and ice cream stand, established in 1968, located directly across the street from the campground. This KOA serves as an excellent basecamp for exploring everything the Adirondack Mountains have to offer. We visited in late spring before most schools had let out for the summer, so the campground was wonderfully quiet throughout our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, the grounds were clean and well maintained, and we always felt safe and secure. We especially appreciated the short hiking trails around the perimeter of the campground, which were perfect for walking our dogs between the Adirondacks' frequent pop-up mountain rain showers. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would happily return. In fact, we're already planning to!

This is a good place to bunker down for the night. I rented the single room cabin. The room had a mini fridge and three beds. Furthermore, there was a nice space heater that really warmed up the room. Each cabin has a parking space in front of the building. Overall, it's a great place to rest for the night especially if you're trying to get an early start on hikes nearby.
