All the personnel were friendly and helpful.

It is the tale of Two Cities, or in your case, the tale of two campgrounds. The lower "resort" campground meets expectations, but the upper "resort" campground is more like a third world country. Only by car or a long walk with hundreds of stairs could we access the lower campground. The upper sites at best would qualify for KOA Journey status. Very disappointing.

We have been coming here for over 20 years. Sites are in great shape. Bathrooms are as clean as they can be kept. Weather was crazy, but that is camping. Cost of 2 pizzas was $10 more than 2 years ago (we didn't buy pizzas last year.) That's a large price increase.

The stay was great! Loved our site and the amenities!! Bathrooms were clean.

The best way to describe our stay is "it was not long enough". It is an excellent example of a KOA Resort. If you asked us what to improve, our response is not a thing. The facilities and activities are outstanding. The staff is friendly, professional and always there to assist their visitors. Highly recommend planning a stay here and going mining for Herkimer diamonds.

We were moved from the main campground to the mountain area, which we specifically tried to avoid when booking. The staff were less then helpful when explaining why. The medication was expired in the store. The campsites themselves were tight because of the garden area. Pretty but not effective

They have so much to offer it is hard to know where to begin. The addition of the ice cream and food / beer/ wine trailers is a great one. I do miss the basketball court because it is a great place for kids to meet people and you can entertain yourself for a while shooting hoops - cant play alone with volley ball.

Great place and good staff.

My family had a great time during our short stay. My daughter and husband spent hours and hours at the “diamond” mines! They even stayed through a couple passing rainstorms. The pool was clean and even though it was too rainy and chilly to go into the river during our stay it looked like it would be fun to spend the day floating down!

Park is well kept laundry facilities lack for size of park and it doesn’t help when machines are inop also closure of park amenities for private parties across street at restaurant doesn’t set well when your counting on a meal also add for this koa doesn’t let u know how partially open everything is

We visited for 2 nights. My nephew was very excited to dig for Diamonds. Unfortunately mother nature had other plans and rained for our whole stay. We did visit the mine and got some rocks. Hopefully we can return one day to experience the mine and other amenities the park had to offer.

The staff was great. Pricing was extremely high. We can stay at a resort campground on the water with many water activities in a resort town and it is less money than we paid here. I was not aware that there was an extra fee for children, and there was a resort fee. We will not be saying again.

We were just an overnight but squeezed in a swim in the pool and enjoyed using the community BBQ! Bathrooms were clean as was the park!

I think this is a great campground for families, lots of activities for kids. But for couples, especially senior age, the cost to stay here, plus the resort fee, just wasn't for us. Enjoyed the ice cream trailer though!

A fun KOA in a beautiful location right next to the creek. Lots of activities and amenities with clean facilities. Spots are clean and have plenty of room, internet service is great and helps you plan your next adventure with no worries.

It’s our 5th year, always a nice vacation. We only had one issue AGAIN and that was the angry night ranger, he was a bit out of control. Threatened to call the cops and kick us out while we sat by the fire just talking and kids making s’mores. We will probably not book for next year, due to him.

Everything was great. The only thing that did not make it perfect is we did not have enough disc to play your golf disc game disappointing. highly recommend you replace them and sign them out to each player so you get them back for next year we’ve already booked.for 2025

It was a beautiful and well maintained KOA. We only stayed one night on our travel back home, but would love to return in the future for a longer stay!

very disappointed to find out when we arrived the site I paid extra to have we couldn't have then gave us 3 other options which 2 had campers in no one knew who was even in sites, We had to take the 3rd site which was ok

Had a nice stay, plenty of activities for children Looking forward to coming back and get a creeksdide site.

Loved it here! Lots of fun activities for the kids. However, I wish the activities were more spread out throughout the day. They all were clumped together just at dinner time every day. Which made it hard to do all the activities our kids wanted to do AND eat dinner peacefully.

Been staying for 7 years & see improvements! Would like to see basketball & tennis. Site 87 needs to be leveled & the 2 bushes between 87 & 86 should be removed to make it easier to place a camper w/slideouts. Also weedwhack the area between the sites and the water. Our firepit was surrounded by weeds & couldn't use it. Luckily, we were with tenters & used their firepit. We do like this KOA!

This was like our 7th year in a row, with our FD friends group. The park seems to be going the wrong direction yet the rates are through the roof. Our sites kept having breakers that were popping even after they changed it, the ants and goose crap around our sites was awful, grass was high and the bathhouse directly across from us was a disaster Friday and Saturday. Herkimer KOA do better.

Beautiful campground with lots to do for everyone. The only drawback for us were the prices. This is definitely a resort and if you can afford it your kids will love it. Staff was great, mine was great and food was great.

We completely enjoyed our stay! Everyone there was so friendly and kind, and went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. The mines themselves were super fun, the cafe there had excellent service, and the food was delicious. The Garden was absolutely beautiful, The Garden food truck was fantastic, with excellent adult beverage specials, The Scoops ice cream truck was delicious as well. Great!

Beautiful facility and very friendly staff.

Even though we were only at the campground for one night, we enjoyed it and use some of the amenities.

Super fun to be across the street from the mines... no pressure to spend the day. It was hot, we came back to camp for a swim and went back again. Since I have older kids, I would've love to see some pool tables, foosball or ping-pong...or even a basketball hoop. The pool is great but that's about all we did at camp.

One of the most beautiful and well kept KOA’s in the US! The thought that went into improvements was spot on. Amazing landscaping. The “Garden” is spectacular. Helpful friendly staff, great water pressure and hookups. Not far off NYS Thruway makes it’s a good stop while traveling, yet quiet on a crystal clear creek. Add a pool in the new section on top and it would be absolute perfection!

Very nice gardens. Excellent access to the creek and diamond mines.

The original campground seemed really nice with a beautiful creek and lots of stuff to do. Problem was we had a spot on the Mountainside section. This area is across the highway and up a VERY STEEP gravel road. The sites themselves are nice but you are stuck on a hillside with nothing to do unless you want to hike or drive down the hill and across the highway to get to the fun stuff.

nice site a lot to do if young families book make sure they stay in the original sites as the new ones across the road are far from the activities

Cabins come with luxury items including mini heater, dorm room fridge with freezer, Roku TV. Nice outside barbecue and fire pit for each site. There are tent locations plus RV hookup spots. Right across the street from the Herkimer diamond mine. So those that visit the mine can also walk from the campsite straight to the mind. Decent amount of tent sites and cabins directly adjacent to the park as well as restroom area. And find out away from the main road not to hear the hustle and bustle of the mine.

What an amazing team lead by Rebecca! Cannot say enough about the service we received from everyone! We attended for a scout weekend and brought 46 scouts, leaders, and family. We were in several tent sites, 10 cabins, and 4 RV sites. They were very responsive to our wood needs (28° degree night). Had events Saturday. Grounds were well maintained, restrooms and showers were clean, and parking was close! We will return. Thank you to all.

My family and I absolutely loved our stay at the Herkimer Diamond KOA (Kampgrounds of America) Resort. We only stayed one night mid October 2024 towards the end of the season, and it was so much fun we didn't want to leave! Located in the heart of the Mowhawk Valley, HDKOA Resort is a great place to stay when you're visiting the Herkimer Diamond Mines, which is conveniently located directly across the street from the resort. The price per night will vary based on how many nights, time of year and season. There is an outdoor pool and public restrooms with two showers and the staff work hard to maintain it's cleanliness. You will need to book a reservation online or on the KOA app and the prices will vary depending on where you stay and what amenities you choose to pay for. We stayed in a pod and it had 4 full size beds, 3 electrical outlets, air conditioner and a heater, a mini fridge and not much space. There are cabins you can book with their own bathrooms, shower and kitchen but they are pricey. You can pitch a tent on one of their tent sites or hook up an rv on one of their many RV sites. There's even a tree house like cabin you can rent but again, very pricey. The gift shop here is pretty large and sells all of your camping needs including bug spray, fire wood, lanterns and even blankets. The staff here are very friendly and knowledgeable and are very helpful. They hold seasonal events for campers during the day and night and the kids and the Adults always have a great time and have many cherished memories that will make any childhood so much better. You will love your stay at KOA ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
