We have been coming to the Herkimer KOA for the last 12 years. Our excitement turned to disappointment because certain activities and programs were no longer being held. It's a beautiful place and my family looked forward to visiting every year, but I think this may be the last year we visit.

We stayed at the Herkimer KOA over Memorial Day weekend, the busiest weekend of the year. The campground was packed, every single spot was occupied. One would imagine that this would be a downfall for a single couple looking for a quiet weekend away from home, but every single minute of our stay was fantastic. we were surprised noone was available at the gift shop after 9am so we could check out so we just ended up leaving the key in our room...we were also kinda surprised the television did not work and, according to the staff, there really wasnt anything that could be done..our hope is it is fixed/replaced before the next family stays in KT01

Rented cabin $500 for wknd - carpenters bees boring holes in deck overhang dropped sawdust on us and bees flying in and out. Deck swing was disgusting- filthy ripped - no cable as advertised at time of rental - Called repeatedly no answer left messsges were told to move the Roku device ourselves from bedroom to living if we wanted tv?! lawn not mowed - store out of ice - told to go to Stewart’

The beds were terrible if I wanted to sleep in an uncomfortable bed I would have pitched a tent. Other than the sleeping discomfort we had a good time. Probably won't be coming back A motel is cheaper and more comfortable

Great location on the River. Great amenities at the camping area as and at the Diamond mine complex. Only negatives were the Wi-Fi and tv were not working!

This was our 4th year visiting Herkimer KOA with a group of families. Once again, we had a fun filled weekend! We enjoyed the amenities and noted changes. We were disappointed that the Miner's Table was closed and that The Barn did not meet our expectations. The mining staff were accommodating as we were initially told we would have to share hammers at the mines. See you next year! Thankyou!

We had a wonderful day mining for the homeschool day and then came back to shower and we were unable to. The water was ice cold with no hot water! We were filthy and sweaty. I called the number but the desk was closed and also sent an email with no response. Super homeschool day but staying at the KOA was the downfall. We slept very uncomfortably without being able to get clean.

The stay was wonderful. The campground is big and quiet with a lot of things for kids and adults to do. We walked along the river, played disc golf, swam and enjoyed many campfires. We mined and found some really nice crystals that Dan at the jewelry making hut turned into jewelry for us. Dan was very friendly and informative, he really seems to love his job there.

This was our 2nd time staying at the Herkimer KOA and we absolutely loved it! Our cabin was very clean. The amenities worked great, fridge and a/c were nice and cold. Only down side was no microwave otherwise everything was terrific!

Slightly disappointed as information on the site directly conflicted with what was available. There was no basketball court for the kiddos, which we were looking forward to. Breakfast was no longer offered. The website was misleading and needs to be updated.

We definitely enjoyed ourselves at the mine and checking out local attractions as well. I would definitely stay here again, but it would need to b after it's up and running fully under the new ownership. We were put in a cabin with no TV that worked yet so the nights were pretty boring w/no entertainment, we were told no TV the 2nd day there. But once they work out the bugs I would stay again.

Had an awesome stay in the rustic cabin! We visited during opening weekend for "First Crack", first time in NY, had a great time. Hosts were attentive, cabin clean, linens provided, comfortable mattress, fridge, TV and an awesome porch swing.... all you need to relax and enjoy! We found several nice diamonds too! �

I stayed in The treehouse with my grandson on Thursday April 20. Admittedly it was early in the season. There were still lots of limbs and debris on the property. Lots of dug up spots. It just looked dingy. The treehouse needed a good cleaning. There was dust and old bandaids in the bunk beds.the floor / rug was visibly dusty and dirty. TheTV had big greasy handprints on it. Yikes!!

Stayed in deluxe cabin which are pricey. TV didn't work due to low WIFI which you state is high speed. When we were able to get something it continually buffered then closed out. Poor phone service again due to low WiFi. Staff suggested we stand by reception area for better service!! Towels were cheap, rough and small. It rained and the air conditioner window leaked due to poor installation.

We couldn't have fire pit, metal enclosure was so rotted/ rusted away it wouldn't hold smaller pieces of burning wood that fell right thru bottom. No dish soap to clean dishes, and miners parked in designated cabin space when they shouldn't. No TV channels, they brought a DVD player but couldn't hook it up without correct HDMI cable lol. They didn't seem to care about amenities.

We stayed in solar 3, lovely cabin.. but, tv didn’t work, no signal, ac did not work, and gas stove is set up for natural gas? But likely runs on propane, hence the explosive, hair burning light, and yellow flame..causing soot on pan.. gas grill was gross..left before 9am so couldn’t turn key in and mention this in person., we still like the place, but for the cost, needs to be addressed..tha

All workers were very responsive, to start there was no water pressure and no hot water the first night. the next day the filters were changed, we got water pressure. Hot water worked in both sinks but not in the shower. At 7pm Travis came for 45 mins. with a huge sales pitch. Finally he tells us you have to run the sink for hot water in the shower. no pots n pans to make breakfast either!

Loved the cabin, check in quick and friendly. Had planned dinner and drinks at the restaurant but very disappointed when we got there it was closed. We didn’t know this agreed of time and would have planned something else for dinner! This should have been told to us especially since I sent an email asking for a menu and still wasn’t told it would be closed.

The cabins are great - it was only the 2nd day you were open - so there we a couple hiccups but otherwise a decent time.

Availability showed full, yet a ghosttown. Had to pay higher priced accommodation than we needed. Amenities not as listed. Cooking nearly impossible stove issues, no microwave and no oven. Bathroom stank. Beds had sand in them. Flies in cabin. Staff acted as if we were a bother. Stayed Mon/Tues...cafe informed us that they shut down the grill by 4:30, so only fried food to eat.

This a first time for all of us and was different. I had fun even though the rain had to remind us that we're powerless when nature brings the rain. Several diamonds were found including several decent sized ones. Prices in the shop were a bit steep for my budget but the little experience I've had with Crystals kinda shows what we all know...quality is not cheap. I do wish I had brought a few larger rocks back as I now have the means to cut into them. I did grab a few that should look nice after a session in the rock tumbler.

We camped here last weekend for their season opening. The staff was so very nice at both the Campgrounds and the Mines. Everyone we met was just absolutely just the most friendly and welcoming that we had an amazing time and immediately rebooked to come back when it's a tiny bit warmer. Despite having a rainy and cold weekend, the view of the creek was lovely and my kids had a ton of fun at the mines and my little guy loved the playground.
