The lodge was nice/comfortable. The pool was nice. A few things would have made it better: better communication, we called 2x before our stay and 1x there and no return calls, provide dishwasher detergent- the dishes were dirty when we arrived and we had to wash them again by hand, remote to TV was missing when we arrived so unusable and no remedy, better sheets/pillows and more/bigger pots/pans.

We had a great family getaway for a few days at Herkimer Diamond KOA, our lodge was really nice, loved access to all the amenities and having the Diamond Mine right across the street.

Several advertised amenities closed. Very rude manager at the cafe. Had to find our own way to our campsite yet the next day saw several campers being escorted to their campsite. Road erosion is bad. Site was slopped really bad.

Great stay. Beautiful grounds. The only issue we had was the air conditioning didn’t work. However they provided a credit to us for the inconvenience of no air. I would also love to see the cabins updated with new furniture etc and remove all of the dust collecting “collectibles” in the cabins. Very outdated.

We brought two grand boys for a couple days, and we loved our stay in the cabins by the mines. Will definitely plan another trip to dig for treasures and enjoy everything else the park has to offer�

We visited for only one night, but the staff was accommodating and, because we arrived later in the day, the food trucks were a welcomed treat. The campground is beautiful!

1. The reservation was mixed up when we arrived but they were able to fix it without too much fanfare and, 2. The campsite they gave us didn’t have a fire ring so we didn’t have a fire at the site. Other than those things, the new mountainside camping sites were quiet, clean, and very nicely landscaped. The campground management and crew couldn’t have been nicer. Thank you.

Facilities were well maintained and clean. I'm not sure why, but there were so many flies up on the Mountainside Campground!! It got to be very annoying. Other than that, our family enjoyed our first stay at Herkimer Diamond KOA.

We had a great time! Staff was so friendly and helpful. Lots of amenities and activities to do. Only one minor thing - the timing for the activities didn’t always seem accurate as we showed up for two different ones and no one was there. Not sure if they were just cancelled or something. Other than that, all was amazing!

We didn't realize that we would have to drive up and down large hills to get to our campsite. The pod was too small, I don't feel like its Glamping, its more like a tiny cabin. I truly expected more for the price. Maybe some of the other accommodations were worth it, not the Mountainside glamping pod

We came back to Herkimer Diamond KOA after coming in 2019. We booked 2 nights in one of the solar lodges, and after the first day extended our stay because we loved it so much! We loved that we were a very short walk to the playground for our littles and our bigger kids were able to go walk to the mines on their own!

sites are a little close together, and the listings say "electricity" is included with the site however there is not a single outlet. We could have prepared better if we knew the site was incorrect.

Kids activities never happened and we staying on the mountain side and only one saw a worker they never enforced. The speed limit cars were going by our campsite 20 miles an hour not very happy.

Our stay originally started in the solar lodges for two nights and when we extended our stay, we were moved to the windmill lodge due to availability. We loved the location of the solar lodges because they were right next to the playground area. But we fell in love with the windmill lodge! The bunk room was perfect for our older kids to have their own space! We’ll definitely be back!

We absolutely enjoyed staying at the Herkimer Diamonds KOA! The newly landscaped garden area with fire pits is beautiful and a great setting to relax and our 6 year-old loved the bouncy castle and gemstone/fossil sluicing tower. Everyone on staff are helpful and kind. Thank you for a wonderful camping vacation!

Golf cart not fully charged. Wasted 3 hrs trying to get charged. I pulled in where told but charger didn’t work. NO basketball court! Septic full. Bird Poop on mat into store and in store doorway, I mentioned twice before they cleaned it up with a smart remark made to me.

Over all the cabin was great .. enjoyed the covered porch as it rained the whole time there . Couple things could be looked further .. like the propane gas tank on our lot was empty . Grill had left over stuff on it had to ask 2 for gas for grill.. house keeping , fans had fuzz bunnys ac units covered in black mold thank goodness didn’t need those . We had a great time. The facilities were fantastic and there were nice touches everywhere. The only downer was that the shower was cold on the first night, but after mentioning it to the front office, it was remedied.

had a great time. the only thing i would complain about is the kids activities, each one we tried to attend on Thursday there was no one there for, we wanted to do the crafts and stood around for 10 mins or so and no one showed up with any crafts.

Amazing, clean and exciting campground with many more amenities than expected. We stayed at a creek front site which was exactly what we had hoped for. We've already booked a return stay next year!

Employees were every pleasant, we arrived in a deluge, our campsite was a huge muddy puddle. Not the best after a long drive. KOA should invest in better drainage and ground cover. I do realize we received a lot of rain, but for the cost of the site it should have been a bit more “kept up”. Beautiful area, nice camp ground perfect for families with kids!

The cabin that we stayed in was very quiet and away from the busy lower level which was perfect. The water temperature in the shower was luke warm at best which was disappointing. The staff was very friendly. Would have liked more food options on site.

This is a resort? I don’t think so with the state of the bathrooms (old and not maintained), spotty inconsistent Wi-Fi and small dog park. AND you charge an extra $10 resort fee!! That should be mentioned when making reservations. We didn’t see any staff coming around checking on things and cleaning up. Won’t stay here again.

I will start with the pros of our stay. The site was very nice. Being right on the water was ideal and the size of the site was great. That is the end of the pros. When we arrived, we found that our site obviously had not been cleaned. The fire pit had not been cleaned out. Site was level, but on the expensive side. We had people cutting thru our site with their tunes and to get to the pool every day! Would not recommend getting a pull thru site in the original section across from the pool or office since other campers were rude when asked not to walk around and not cut thru our campsite. We won't be back.

We enjoyed our stay. Just a couple of things to consider to improve visitor experience. The Wi-Fi is very weak, relied on our cell service to access internet and stream channels. The pool water was very cold and many bugs floating in the water. More pool chairs/umbrellas would be helpful. The Garden is beautiful. More paid solo performers and less Kareoki will screaming sing solo’s.

Cabins come with luxury items including mini heater, dorm room fridge with freezer, Roku TV. Nice outside barbecue and fire pit for each site. There are tent locations plus RV hookup spots. Right across the street from the Herkimer diamond mine. So those that visit the mine can also walk from the campsite straight to the mind. Decent amount of tent sites and cabins directly adjacent to the park as well as restroom area. And find out away from the main road not to hear the hustle and bustle of the mine.

What an amazing team lead by Rebecca! Cannot say enough about the service we received from everyone! We attended for a scout weekend and brought 46 scouts, leaders, and family. We were in several tent sites, 10 cabins, and 4 RV sites. They were very responsive to our wood needs (28° degree night). Had events Saturday. Grounds were well maintained, restrooms and showers were clean, and parking was close! We will return. Thank you to all.

My family and I absolutely loved our stay at the Herkimer Diamond KOA (Kampgrounds of America) Resort. We only stayed one night mid October 2024 towards the end of the season, and it was so much fun we didn't want to leave! Located in the heart of the Mowhawk Valley, HDKOA Resort is a great place to stay when you're visiting the Herkimer Diamond Mines, which is conveniently located directly across the street from the resort. The price per night will vary based on how many nights, time of year and season. There is an outdoor pool and public restrooms with two showers and the staff work hard to maintain it's cleanliness. You will need to book a reservation online or on the KOA app and the prices will vary depending on where you stay and what amenities you choose to pay for. We stayed in a pod and it had 4 full size beds, 3 electrical outlets, air conditioner and a heater, a mini fridge and not much space. There are cabins you can book with their own bathrooms, shower and kitchen but they are pricey. You can pitch a tent on one of their tent sites or hook up an rv on one of their many RV sites. There's even a tree house like cabin you can rent but again, very pricey. The gift shop here is pretty large and sells all of your camping needs including bug spray, fire wood, lanterns and even blankets. The staff here are very friendly and knowledgeable and are very helpful. They hold seasonal events for campers during the day and night and the kids and the Adults always have a great time and have many cherished memories that will make any childhood so much better. You will love your stay at KOA ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
