Really like the rustic look of the campground. Sites are roomy and level, gravel and level for setup. We had pancakes and sausage offered this past Saturday and really appreciated it. We don't use the bathrooms but they are roomy and clean. Shady lots and nice picnic tables and firepits. We have stayed here several times when traveling home from Tennessee.

This was our first trip of the season, our weather gamble paid off, but more importantly we were surprised to see the volume of other campers at this KOA. Turns out it was a testament to this campground’s quality. Nice folks, welcoming and friendly.

We truly love this KOA and have really enjoyed every other stay, but the locations of the hookups at site 34 were really inconvenient for a trailer during a brief, overnight stay. It would have been impractical to use the full hookups so we didn’t do so - and we really needed FHU on this phase of our trip - very inconvenient.

Great experience! We stayed at the Harrisonburg KOA as a stop-over during a longer road trip. The after-hours check in was seamless and the staff was incredibly friendly. The campground was clean and organized and in a great location. Would definitely recommend this campground as a stop-over or as a destination!

They don’t warn about the necessity of approaching their entrance from a certain route. They didn’t answer the text I sent asking about the route to take in. We damaged our RV coming the wrong way (our fault in the end) but it could’ve been avoided had they shared helpful info about coming to the campground. It’s far off of the highway on narrow winding roads. Dog poop on site. Pretty tho

We are sorry that you experienced problems during your visit. We have the directions to our campground in both our directory and it is also listed on your confirmation email. At no time should someone use the directions from any other site such as RV Life to give you correct directions.

we got there a little after 7 and the building was closed so we had to door dash in firewood for $75.00 other than that is was a good night.

Had you looked at the sign posted on our door or even called the after hours number on the back of your map, you would have seen that we have after hours wood available. You choosing to door dash has no reflection on our campground.

The patio spot was very nice. The distance to the bath house was the reason for the 4 star rating... it was too long and not well lit at all.

We apologize for your inconvenience. Our patio sites are in a place where most people do not use our bathhouses. There is a current plan to add another bathhouse. We do have solar lights on the roads but we are in the woods and cannot add any extra light without it being distracting.

This was just an overnight stay on our annual spring road trip, but this campground is "a keeper" for future trips. We stayed in the newer part of the campground and the expansion work you are doing is going to be great. Loved the stone fireplace you are building on site #39! I just wish we had time to fire it up! It was pretty quiet this early in the season but I'm sure it will be bustling soon!

We had a nice stay. We had the chance to buy fresh eggs (chickens on site were clean & friendly), in a 6 pack...something that fit in our little refrigerator. The yolks were super fresh! Egg $ was directed toward the care camp this KOA was running. They had heart. We forgot our clothes in the dryer, called KOA to put them aside. We found our clothes later, folded even. Great hearts all thru place.

This one of the best KOAs' we have been to. Clean reasonably priced laundry, nice updated spaces( just sometimes tight getting into and around, but doable) Love, love, LOVE the nature trail with my dog! This stay was early spring and we're happy we found this place. We have stayed at other campgrounds to great disappointment! Thank you!

We use your campground for a quick overnight stay when traveling to/from NY to points south. No highway noise, not crowded, easy to level and not unhook. Our only issue is we need a really long hose to connect to water on site 42. Otherwise it’s a pretty, well run campground.

Came in for a uick overnight trip to Came in for a quick overnight on our way north. The check-in was easy, the staff was very friendly and welcoming; the campground was clean, neat and orderly; the bathrooms were spotless and our night's rest was peaceful and quiet. Excellent place; 5 stars!

This is a great campground! The staff I talked to are as friendly as any I have met anywhere we have traveled. The restrooms are clean well lit and warm ( we were there in march and it was only in the mid 20s ). The laundry had just been redone and is very clean. I want to thank everyone at Harrisonburg/Shenandoah Valley KOA for a great stay and will see you again when we are in the area

Short stay in March 2026. Loved this place. So clean and well kept. The store was stocked and the two ladies in the store were lovely. There is a hiking trail leaving the campground which leads up the mountain. Just an overall great vibe. Quiet morning visit but can envision families and kids enjoying the game area and other activities.

When we called to book our visit, we were not told that being in spot 1 would leave us camped in an area full of blinding lights. The light next to our van was so bright that we could not sleep. It was better camping at Walmart. Moreover, we were not informed that there would be no wood allowed. Horrible experience, especially for how much we paid.

We are sorry you feel the way you do. Site 1 has no lights near it other than the lights around the store. There are security lights so that guests can find their way to the bathrooms safely. We hope you are able to find a campground more to your liking.

Always a pleasure to stay here. We almost always extend our stay here. Staff is super helpful and campground itself is well maintained. Gravel roads and level site throughout. I’ve seen everything from diesel pushers to small teardrops. Seems to be nice areas for tent camping. We’ll be back!

The manager attempted to call you to let you know that you were charged incorrectly. You were refunded and yet you failed to call her back and speak directly to her. Had you spoke to the Manager before you left the campground there would have been no need for this review.

Loved the campground! Though we came in late it was super easy to find our registration and camping spot. The common areas and lodge were spotless especially the bathrooms and the campground was very well laid out with lots of fu. Extras!

Very nice KOA. It's in the woods with tons of trees and shade. Sites are spread out so you are not packed in next to your neighbors like many campgrounds. I was also able to move around easily with my 33 ft trailer. Would absolutely stay here again.

One of the best koa facilities I've been to in a while. Roads are well kept, staff is kind, sites are nicely place with plenty of trees, activities to do if you feel like it and a decent pool. Not much to complain about here. Thanks for making this a home away from home!
