Very nice campground, clean, quiet, lots of fun activities for kids and parents. Staff is super friendly and helpful. The walk to the beach is not like advertised, if you walk in between private property houses it is kind of short but you are asked not to do that when you check in, very understandable. Dollar store 10 miles, Walmart 20 miles, not complaining just letting others know.

Loved the camp ground, easy to drive around and back into sites. Staff was very nice including Mark. We will be utilizing your facilities when we come back around.

It was amazing.

Well, the pool was closed all weekend, so everyone was in the lazy river. We asked for a late check out Sunday so we could go the beach, and have the $20 fee waived. They said no because the lazy river was open. We did not even attempt the lazy river it was so full. We love this place, but as the Director of Sales at a hotel in Houston, I was a bit taken back.

I love the way you send out texts about what is going on each day!

It was terrible. No showers for "2" days, and NO swimming pool the entire weekend. With two families and 4 young kids, it didn't make for a good stay at all. The sad part is that upon contacting DEBORAH, the Manager, She showed NO caring emotions at all. She basically said that it wasn't her problem and there was nothing she could do She advised to contact corporate, it's there KOA.

Always a pleasure to stay at Galveston KOA! Saturday music by the pool was such a joy!!!!

We have stayed in a few koa camping sites on our road trip and always found them to be clean and extremely friendly On arrival to the Galveston site it was a lot bigger than we were used to. We booked in for 3 nights, but found the site attendants not very friendly, there was only 4 showers for the whole site which meant waiting for one to be vacant. The showers and toilets were really dirty,

It would be great to have another bathroom and shower at the end of the camp grounds.

Everything was great, only down side was the main pool was closed for maintenance for 2 full days so could only enjoy the last day. What made it ok was that the lazy river was still open. Kids enjoyed that very much. Will come back.

The rates fluctuated terribly. The 1st 5 days were $77.....jumped to 92 for the "5 day 4th weekend"...and , for no obvious reason, remained high at 82-87 for the last 5 days of our stay. When queried, the front desk said they didn't know the reason.

Daughter was stopping by to visit for a few hours making our vehicle total 3. Was asking one lady about the policy and another lady put the policy stand directly in front of me. Found that rude. I wasn’t being rude about it. Pool was closed entire time we were there. Main thing we wanted to use.

Our stay was fantastic. We originally booked to stay 7 day and we extended to 8 days. None of us were ready to go home.

We are a senior couple in 45’ mh with toad. Our site was right at the entrance away from all the noise and activities around the pool area. Great for us. Management text thru out day with current facilities conditions was nice to let us know that electricity was still on for fur baby while away from camp. Nice manicured grass, level concrete pad, paved roads. HD cable Rv at site was wonderful.

Great campground…disappointed about the pool situation… both days had issues with main pool. There are other RV options in the area without pool access that are more affordable... things happen but it was a disappointment to our trip when it’s so hot outside.

We wanted to upgrade to a different spot for our 2nd night there and we were told no. We just paid to join KOA camping and I regret that decision. Also the pool was closed that Saturday.

Everything was great, except the pool and lazy river were extremely hot.

This is the absolute worst KOA we have ever stayed at. The customer service is horrible. We had put in a complaint about our loud drunk neighbors several nights in a row and nothing was done. My children went to the pool and very few people were wearing wristbands and so many drunks. There are not enough lines for me to continue this review. Horrible place. Think twice before going here.

Was not happy with the stay here at KAO first of all not sure how often showers and bathrooms are being cleaned. The whole 3 days we stay bathrooms were NOT cleaned very dirty. And on our second day stay pool was closed like I understand the pool had to be cleaned but it was closed the whole day. So Not very pleased with my stay.

Great stay and love the sites. Thank you for an awesome four days.
Jul 10, 2023
We added more days, 3 more!
Jul 10, 2023
We will not be returning. Between the pool being closed our entire stay and lazy river being completely over crowded to a point where a child was choked out by a drunk rowdy adult! As if that’s not enough the staff sides with the adult and kicks the kids out of the pool with out asking any questions or any further investigation! All around bad look we will spend our money elsewhere.

Need to clean up around the full timers property

We have stayed here a lot in the past and really loved it. I was very disappointed by the condition of the pool and lazy river. I know it was a holiday weekend but KOA should have planned for the holiday. My wife and I also had several insect bites from walking the grass on our site. It looked as if had been freshly cut but that being said, I would spay the grass for ants and chiggers!

Awesome time with family and friends - pool was a little too warm but all in all it was great
Jul 06, 2023
Clean, well organized campground. They keep you informed of campground happenings by texting.

Overall clean (and new). Check-in process was crowded and not designed to handle that many people waiting, but the ladies were efficient. No trees have been planted around campsites, and they could benefit from some. The lazy river is very small, so we did not use it. Neighbors were great, met some fun people!

We have stayed at the Galveston KOA twice and have truly been impressed. The facility is clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful; they provide frequent text messages with reminders about activities onsite. We will frequent this facility on a regular basis. We love Galveston and we love the Galveston Island KOA!

We stayed a week at this RV park from the end of June to July 4. Nice level RV pads. Most are 25'x65' with about 1/3 being pull thru's. This is the furthest "West End" RV park on the island about 3.5 miles from San Luis Pass. We enjoyed this location since it's quiet with less traffic and in close proximity to the beach access point 36 (less than a mile) which is the best beach on Galveston Island. From our site (#31) you get a peek of the water. Our 7 year old grandson really enjoyed the lazy river, and so did a lot of the adults. A nice place to soak & float while responsibly enjoying an adult beverage and making new friends. There is also a pool and hot tub. Movie night at the lazy river on the weekends. Also close by is the (very laid back) Sandbar Grille in The West End Marina. The Sandbar Grille is a great place to eat or just hang out and have a drink when coming off the beach. Will stay at this park again!

We were in Site# 332. The check in was at 1pm and Check out is at 11am.. We had Full hook- up with a concrete pull-through. We travel towing a 14 foot trailer and were able to fit both in our pull through site along with my jeep. The site was easy to level. Our site was not shaded with no trees. This was a larger sized lot with our neighbors not too close. The lot comes with a concrete patio with picnic table and built in grill box (no actual fire ring). We also got a Paw Pen site for our dogs. Some have a fire ring in the deluxe sites. There is free WiFi. They offer Cable TV and there are many channels. There is not a community outdoor kitchen but do have community fire pit. They sell wood for $8 a bundle. They do not provide garbage service at your site so you must walk to garbage dumpster. You are allowed to ride personal golf carts. They do not provide golf cart rentals. There is really not a need to have a Golf cart because it is a smaller campground. They do have a heated swimming pool with and a separate lazy river. They have a catch and release fishing Lake. There is a Playground. They also offer basketball sport court, pickleball, horseshoe, and cornhole. There is also a jumping pad. They have a decent general store (that sells frozen daiquiris). The streets within the campground are paved and good for riding bikes. There is a public access to the ocean across the street. They have cabins for rent. They have one shower house. The shower house has individual bathrooms with your own sink, shower, toilet. These are kept very clean. There is a laundry facility. It is a cash only facility, but they have a change machine. There are approximately 4 washers and 4dryers.It is approximately $2.25 to wash and $2.25to dry a load. They have a fenced in dog park. Mosquitoes were a small issue and bug spray was needed. We received daily texts outlining the activities for the day like bingo, happy hours, trivia night, tamale truck, Texas Hold Em, tie dying, and live music.
