The campground was very clean. All of the staff was very personable and friendly. There was constantly someone outside, picking up trash,, keeping the swimming pool, safe everything was enjoyable. This is our first time there and we will be back. The only thing that was bothersome was the fire ants, but you can expect that in Texas in the summer, the pool was perfect!!!

The Park Staff were friendly and truly welcoming which started our stay perfectly. The Park was very clean and well maintained. The Lazy River was exactly what we needed and enhanced our relaxing vacation. The Staff asked frequently how they could make our stay more enjoyable and that spoke volumes about how valued we were to them. We are looking forward to returning again real soon.

We had a great time there, the only thing I would suggest you change is the music selection(s). While we were there, it was Jimmy Buffet until you puke, then someone's personal playlist. Contrary to popular belief, not everybody wants to listen to over-played music or watered-down new music. The people paying to stay there are not 25. There are so many options for folks that pay what I did.

Location was not key for us. The fish were bothersome. without a car or golf cart it is nearly impossible to go anywhere. Positives, the pool, Saturday music at the pool in the afternoon.

Galveston Island KOA is absolutely the best!! We've stayed at many Holidays and Journeys and this one stands out because of many reasons: Friendliness of staff, cleanliness, large sites, amenities such as pool and lazy river, and, activities galore. Outstanding!

Great staff of people

We really enjoyed our stay and staff members such as Lois and Terri are amazing. This particular weekend included a Duck Race to raise money for Care Camps. The race was a lot of fun and raised money for an amazing program. We did experience a little billing error, however the staff corrected the issue immediately. The grounds and amenities were very clean and everything was well maintained.

Had a great time. Kampgrounds was immaculate, staff extremely friendly and helpful. Couldn’t ask for more. A bit of a drive from the Galveston main attractions, but worth it for the peace and quiet we experienced.

Love staying here! This was our 3-4 th time and each time we have so much to do there that we don’t even bother w the beach. Kids love the pool, lazy river, playground and jumping pad. They are always having something going on for the kids on the weekends. Well kept, clean and we look forward to it everytime!

Wish they had more kids activities this particular weekend but in discussing with some of the staff it sounds like there has been quite a bit of turnover in that department. Last time we visited there was an amazing kid activity person and schedule. This weekend it was more centered around adult activities which we still very much enjoyed and the amenities are fantastic and clean.

Loved the park and will be back for sure. Great staff, clean park, great amenities, close to the beach - and fun! One thing - pickle ball courts - super bright lights until 10 PM - with no one using them. Would be a good idea to have a timer switch that an interested pickle ball team could rotate to turn ON when needed. Not on all the time.

First time to this location, and the staff and whole experience was great! The amenities and the activities provided for the visitors was awesome. From tie dye shirt to duck races. Easy access to the beach and lots to sight see in the Galveston area. Definitely will be coming back! Thank you staff!

Our first time staying - we rented a little cabin because we had friends bringing their motorhome. We were impressed with the entire staff they were friendly and very welcoming. Cabin was very comfortable and clean. People who we visited with around the KOA very all friendly. Music and activities a bonus. Will definitely returning. Thanks for an enjoyable trip!

Had a great time. Always informed. Site was jyy it at right.

They charge 40 dollars for my daughter to park her car for the day! I thought this was a family campground not get rich!!!
Sep 05, 2023
need a larger lazy river.
Sep 05, 2023
Large campground with a lot of great amenities and activities. I have to be able to work when I travel and unfortunately despite numerous calls and texts to the wifi support, I was not able to connect. I also had really spotty cell service, so I could not use my phone's hotspot or consistently make calls or text. The beach is quite a walk from the park, so I'd definitely recommend a tow vehicle.

We truly enjoyed our stay The only downside for our family is the ramp to get to the office and bathrooms. It is a very difficult ramp for someone in a wheelchair. My husband had to return to our rv every time he needed the bathroom. The ramp is not at all built to ADA specs. Very surprising to me that this aspect of the park is overlooked.

Everything was the best and that lazy river is everything!! Every KOA needs to take notes from the Galveston location. Really enjoyed the live music and activities throughout the weekend!
Sep 05, 2023
My family and I loved it... As always KOA is one of the cleanest & friendly places we love going to.
Sep 05, 2023
Very nice, clean and fun KOA! We had a late check in and the instructions left for us in the late check-ins after hours were very helpful and self explanatory. The staff was friendly and very welcoming! Enjoyed the live bands!! Will definitely come back to stay, without doubt.

We stayed a week at this RV park from the end of June to July 4. Nice level RV pads. Most are 25'x65' with about 1/3 being pull thru's. This is the furthest "West End" RV park on the island about 3.5 miles from San Luis Pass. We enjoyed this location since it's quiet with less traffic and in close proximity to the beach access point 36 (less than a mile) which is the best beach on Galveston Island. From our site (#31) you get a peek of the water. Our 7 year old grandson really enjoyed the lazy river, and so did a lot of the adults. A nice place to soak & float while responsibly enjoying an adult beverage and making new friends. There is also a pool and hot tub. Movie night at the lazy river on the weekends. Also close by is the (very laid back) Sandbar Grille in The West End Marina. The Sandbar Grille is a great place to eat or just hang out and have a drink when coming off the beach. Will stay at this park again!

We were in Site# 332. The check in was at 1pm and Check out is at 11am.. We had Full hook- up with a concrete pull-through. We travel towing a 14 foot trailer and were able to fit both in our pull through site along with my jeep. The site was easy to level. Our site was not shaded with no trees. This was a larger sized lot with our neighbors not too close. The lot comes with a concrete patio with picnic table and built in grill box (no actual fire ring). We also got a Paw Pen site for our dogs. Some have a fire ring in the deluxe sites. There is free WiFi. They offer Cable TV and there are many channels. There is not a community outdoor kitchen but do have community fire pit. They sell wood for $8 a bundle. They do not provide garbage service at your site so you must walk to garbage dumpster. You are allowed to ride personal golf carts. They do not provide golf cart rentals. There is really not a need to have a Golf cart because it is a smaller campground. They do have a heated swimming pool with and a separate lazy river. They have a catch and release fishing Lake. There is a Playground. They also offer basketball sport court, pickleball, horseshoe, and cornhole. There is also a jumping pad. They have a decent general store (that sells frozen daiquiris). The streets within the campground are paved and good for riding bikes. There is a public access to the ocean across the street. They have cabins for rent. They have one shower house. The shower house has individual bathrooms with your own sink, shower, toilet. These are kept very clean. There is a laundry facility. It is a cash only facility, but they have a change machine. There are approximately 4 washers and 4dryers.It is approximately $2.25 to wash and $2.25to dry a load. They have a fenced in dog park. Mosquitoes were a small issue and bug spray was needed. We received daily texts outlining the activities for the day like bingo, happy hours, trivia night, tamale truck, Texas Hold Em, tie dying, and live music.
