We enjoyed our stay very much! It was our grandson's 4th birthday and he had a ball. The only negative complaint would be that we had an over abundance of ants. I had paid quite a bit for a chocolate cake and cupcakes from Kandi's bakery here in Waynesville, but the ants got into it, so we were unable to eat it. The ant trap there wasn't working, but I would suggest Dawn soap, it does. Thanks!

I was disappointed that I was not on the river, only near it in cabin 224. I always want to be ON the Ravenfork river. Otherwise, it was great.

Cherokee KOA wad just as fantastic as always, except the lady screaming (like a mad lady)“SLOW DOWK” at the diesel trucks.

My son and I used this trip as a memory trip. My husband passed on May 9th, 2026. My husband , son and I worked at KOA until 2022! Cherokee was our first stent in 2017. It’s was the best time of our lives! This KOA Cherokee has made so many improvements, I would recommend Cherokee KOA to anyone�Sarah and the Staff are 100% wonderful. Thank you KOA for the precious memories �ϸ

I’ve camped many times in the area and decided to check out this facility by renting a cabin. Cabins was very clean, bathrooms super clean and welcoming. The amenities including pool, hot tub, small accessible games and the fishing ponds made this a great place to stay. The other guests was nice, great to see families here making use of their vacations. This KOA won me over to the brand.

The camper cabin at Cherokee KOA was amazing as always! The one issue this time is that we knew the indoor pool was under renovation; however, the outdoor pool water was cloudy and the hot tub was not working our entire stay. Its never been that way during previous stays. We were looking forward to the outdoor pool and hot tub so that was disappointing.

We enjoyed our stay. It was peaceful and quiet in the campground. The campground has a variety of activities for all ages to do. We would suggest adding a light fixture above the shower in the cabins at the front entrance to provide lighting, as it was fairly dark in the shower. The shower base was slippery and could use a shower mat to prevent people from slipping and possibly falling.

I enjoyed staying at the Cherokee KOA. But some of the cabins need a lot of TLC. I was staying in # 362, and it needed some TLC. The screen door would not open all the way back. And the screen on the door was loose. The wooden door was really noise open and closing. My cabin needed big time TLC. They need to update all the cabins

It was good other than our grill didn’t work the first night and when we had to call the after hours they said there was a gas leak. Then the next night they said it was fixed and we had to call the number again and they said they forgot to turn the gas on. The hot tub also was broken and they never told anyone. Lots of things they could have kept us informed but didn’t.

It was good, but the cabin needed some TLC. The screen door would not open all way because it was dragging on the wooden porch , and the main door made so much noise it would wake up the dead. And there no water on site either. I told 3 people about it but no one came to check out. I even called the after hours phone number and nothing else was done.

The campground was very nice and the staff were extremely friendly. The RV site was really good as well with the Pet Paw Pen. The only thing that kept me from making this the highest rating is that the grass at the site was extremely tall and needed to be cut and the pet paw pen had old dog poop (dried white)that previous campers did not pick up. The grass inside the pen could have been cut also.

Our cabin was very clean and cozy to stay in. Plenty of cooking utensils in kitchen area. Kitchen was spotless. I was impressed! I know it’s an older cabin but more plug ins are needed in bedroom for people who use a cpap machine to sleep. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will be back.

Bathroom should have been monitored more dirty rag in shower floor during our whole stay only 1 shower worked need other shower fixed so don't have to wait for shower

Sadly disappointed this time as frequent KOA campers. Outside of the paving occurring during our stay and the indoor pool/hot tub being under renovation which is totally understandable, the outdoor hot tub wasn't working the entire time it never got hot & was dirty, the pool was very dirty every day, the bathhouses weren't cleaned, & there were so many spiderwebs & bee nests on communal grounds.

we enjoyed our stay , the only down to our trip was that they were doing road work while we were there which was distracting and the smell of asphalt bothered me . we did check out a day early due to that but other that that was fine. also the office closes early which is sad due to checking in at 4 then closes at 6 which really dosent make much sense. Cabin vents were very dirty as well the grill

We loved our stay but had some trouble with cabins and RV sight. We didn't know you had to lock in the cabin you want so we lost the RV sight and a cabin we rented. But the people were very nice and accommodating. All in all we enjoyed our stay.

We picked your campground as it had the amenities we wanted. But the hot tub didn’t work the whole time we were there. Totally disappointed. Some staff wasn’t friendly.

The floor in front of the shower was soft and pressed inward getting out of the shower. They couldn’t find the golf cart I rented but did extend my time 1 additional hour but I had to asked them to do it. Can’t talk to a live person.

Stayed in a deluxe cabin on the river. Campground was beautiful, friendly staff. Cabin could use a thorough cleaning. Only complaint is the bathhouses were AWFUL. I understand you can’t help how guests treat the property, but it seemed as if no attention was paid to them. Ultimately, will not stop us from returning.

The clumps of grass on most all of the campsites not only looks bad but for those of us with children and pets it makes a mess. It also attracts insects. When the grass looks this way it should be raked up and removed because you continue to mow and accumulate grass clumps each time. I took pictures as it was unbelievable.

Upgrades in the cabins are nice the mattress on the main full size bed is way too thin and uncomfortable. The bunk bed mattresses are better. The showers we're not terribly bad but need to be cleaned more often. The property overall was well maintained but we were disappointed about the indoor pool being closed. Also the heaters for the hot tub we're not working. Minor fixes, we will be back!

We love the pool and splashpad area! That's why we chose this campground. However, the rest of the campground is not well taken care of- rundown in places, not well kept, not very clean. It would be nice to see some attention in those areas and those things addressed.

I still gave the Koa a five star. Although I rented a cabin with a shower and tub. And it didn’t have a tub, and I require one due to my Disability

Nice large park, however seems a little short on staff and quality control. We had a pull through with pet pen. Very nice size pet pet however the grass was 6” deep. Requested two times for someone to come mow or weed eat before it was completed. We were not an early check-in so really no reason site wasn’t ready for a three day visit at the price paid. Office closes early beware.

Had a great time, will definitely come back. Only complaint is the back bathroom was nasty and needed repairs. The other bathrooms were very nice. But the laundry room in the back was very nice and spacious.

Great visit as usual, our only downsides that are not in your control are, the guest who wanted to have a concert with amplified guitar 3 straight night. They were done by quiet hours but I didn’t come to the mountains to hear a co cert in my campground. We were 3 roads over so not a right next door thing. The other thing was the fact that someone was going around trying ro sell us something.

we loved the campground and the staff. the campground and all the amenities were super clean and taken care of, the bathhouses were super nice. the pool and cafe were amazing. my only complaint and its no fault of KOA but our camp neighbors were super weird didn't understand boundaries and turned what would've been an amazing experience in to a bit of an uncomfortable weekend.

It was a quick trip, had a few days off, and it couldn’t have been better. The campground has everything you’d want. It’s clean, great amenities, secluded but not hard to get to, and a friendly staff. It’s also a very nice size so finding a spot last-minute was relatively easy. I’d totally recommend it to anyone wanting to cone to this area.

The 2 cabins i had rented were ok. The issue was the grass outside. It was very unkempt had not been mowed. Very disappointed with the landscape aspect of the campground.

The only reason is it was very unkempt this time. Our site had been mowed but was laying in chunks of grass. I had to borrow a rake from staff it was bad. Both my sisters site had not been mowed over ankle high. We had to weed eat it ourselves. Very disappointed in maintenance. Otherwise it was a good stay. A little pricey.

The cabin was dirty with pet hairs on the floor. The bunk beds' frames were all caved in making it uncomfortable to lay on the beds. The pool had excessive amounts of chlorine make it uncomfortable to be in the water for long and causing skin irritation.

Enjoyed our stay, staff was nice and helpful. Bath houses could use a little more cleaning. Someone used the bathroom (#2) on a walkway in between the bathrooms and it sat there till it dried up.

The hitting was never even warm, the main bathroom in the back was closed so very few showers that were always full. The bathrooms that were open smelled like they had been mopped with a sour mop, they stunk so bad it was sickening and this was at 9am.

I am so appreciative of KOA Cherokee, I love you so much...My kiddo always have a good time. The jacuzzi was out of order all day Friday but that's okay nobodies perfect 100 percent of the time. Thank you.

We had a great time at Cherokee KOA! The cabins were exactly as we expected with only 1 problem with the grill not lighting both burners and after reporting it they were very fast at fixing the problem. All koa employees were very helpful and very pleasant and did their jobs energetically. If they don't answer the phone leave your name and number and they really will call you back asap. A+

A really good place to stay - just wish the bathroom/showers were cleaner. They always feel a bit gross like they could use more consistent cleaning. The rest of the campground is great and its proximity to the Smokies is outstanding.

Really enjoy the quiet setting. Close to town for shopping and groceries. Tons of things for kids to do. Convenience store open 9-5 if needed

This place is great our cabin was clean and neat.(except for the stink bugs) Plenty of places to fish if you want to Always someone doing something to keep the camp ground clean

Wwe stayed in a cabin. Cabin was nice, alittle small. The mattresses were less than desirable. Overall and great place to stay!
