The Cherokee/Great Smokies KOA Holiday is an excellent place for your group to unwind after a long day of exploring the local area. Take a swim in one of our two pools, let the kids enjoy great onsite recreation, grab a bite to eat, or relax next to a crackling campfire.

The Cherokee/Great Smokies KOA Holiday is a popular destination for social groups, military groups, educational travelers, religious organizations, and fraternal groups. The campground is also a wonderful place to organize a family reunion!

If you're looking for formal meeting space or a reservable area, we can offer an outdoor Pavilion near our Outdoor Pool Complex that can accommodate up to 40 guests. We can also set up an indoor meeting area within our Game Room to accommodate up to 40 guests. We often have fun events and themed weekends occurring on the campground, and your attendees are welcome to participate! There is also a cafe onsite serving pizza, wings, ice cream, and other treats. We have a very large General Store which offers many other items for purchase to make your visit complete - things like bug spray, snacks, sunscreen, fishing bait, beer & wine, souvenirs, and camping supplies.

No matter how your group likes to travel, we have sites for every type of camper!

  • For those in an RV, we have RV sites ranging from affordable Back-in Sites to luxurious Pull-Thru Sites with private KOA Patios and a private Paw Pen for your four-legged travelers.
  • For those interested in a Cabin, we have a variety of options, including Deluxe Cabins with their own bathrooms and kitchens and more rustic Camping Cabins.
  • We also have several Tent Sites available alongside the Tribal Fishing Ponds.

Cherokee, NC is an outdoors paradise, with stunning natural landscapes all around our campground. There are ample opportunities to fish in the tribal waters that surround our campground (purchase your fishing license at our General Store). If you're an avid hiker, you can't miss tackling the path to the top of Kuwohi (Clingman's Dome). The paved path is surprisingly steep, but the stunning panoramas from the observation tower at the summit make it worth the hike. Looking to avoid the crowds of the national park? Ask our staff about nearby Mingo Falls! This waterfall is one of the most spectacular in the area and one of the least visited - plus, it's just a few minutes' drive from the campground.

Whether you’re looking for a week-long vacation or just a weekend getaway, we would love to be a part of your group’s tradition!
We will do our best to accommodate any and all special requests.
