Meet Your Hosts
Come enjoy our beautiful campground--your headquarters for fun in the Great Smoky Mountains!
It's a GREAT day at the Cherokee/Great Smoky Mountains KOA!Rachel and Steve Plaga know what it means to keep campers happy.Rachel is following in her father's footsteps, he was also a KOA campground manager. Rachel started her KOA journey at Albuquerque NM, then ventured on to Bar Harbor KOA & then on to Sugarloaf Key KOA where she was the bar manager and Steven the bar tender. This adventure then landed Rachel and Steve at the Cape Hatteras Koa in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
Rachel and Steven share their love of camping with their four children and now 6 grandchildren.Rachel believes that "to create a memorable camping experience, it requires many levels of customer service; starting with the ease in a reservation, greeting and making guests feel at home upon arrival, the availability of a well-trained staff with willingness to assist when needed, and a clean, safe well-maintained campground".
Rachel and Steven strive to make every day a GREAT day at the Cherokee/Great Smoky Mountains KOA for their guests- that's their
motto. Making memories for families is their mission.
