Great place

The KOA says it offers EARLY check in but this was not the case. No one ever answered the phone for 2 days that I called. When we arrived the women up front were kind but neither could tell me anything about a cabin being ready. Cabin was as it stated it would be. Bathroom and showers were very clean. But under the beds was debris from previous occupancies. 8/10 recommend.

Check-in/Check-out were very easy & quick. Thanks for having dog-friendly options!On-Site fishing was super cool,we saw plenty of trout. We didn't enjoy the early, loud landscaping sounds around 8am on Friday morning (gas powered leaf blowers right outside our window). Take the short drive over to Mingo Falls and enjoy the local beauty (walking the road is sketchy-we tried & don't recommend that).

Deck could not use due to boring bees- bee poop on all outdoor furniture, couldn’t use it. Heater in bedroom would randomly kick on, when off. Bugs in bathroom by sink, little black ones Bedroom hot, living room cold Good service when called about heat Well stocked with necessities, great location for fishing. Unit could use some TLC, bug problem unacceptable. Boring bees can be controlle

One of the best KOA Campgrounds I’ve ever stayed at. Beautiful concrete sites well maintained. Outstanding location on the river. Very accommodating staff. I love it.

We are from SC and didn’t know about the burn ban and no one mention this to us when we checked in. I understand why the burn ban but I don’t like that they didn’t inform us at the desk or by text

Enjoyed our stay in the cabin by the river, #507. Everyone is so nice--the campground is beautiful!

Clean well kept campground. More geared to kids. Friendly staff. Off season so not everything was operational.

Great staff. Dogs barking all day and even worse, all night! E-bikes and golf carts going at high speeds with no regards for the posted speed limits.

The trip was great. Our stay was great. We had reserved a cabin for the rest of our family for the weekend. Upon their arrival, we found that we had not been given the deluxe cabin we had requested, but one that was a step down. While it worked out, the experience was less than our expectations of the service KOA gives. We now know which cabin numbers to request and how to lock them in.

Overall good. Few Ice was not available when we needed it so we had to leave the campground to get some. The trash cans around the ponds were overflowing over the weekend we were there. The gates for the fishing ponds weren’t open til late. After 8 on Saturday and even after 10 on Sunday. Best time to fish is early morning right at sunrise so would like to see gates open at 7am for fishing ponds

very busy during spring break. Bathrooms in my area were out of toilet paper for the entire week. there were projects going on every day involving utilities testing, or cabin utilities , or mowing, or weed eating, every day during the week of spring break. Very noise intensive, and an spring break seemed an odd time to schedule maintenance work. Store closes at 5, not dark until near nine.

We love KOA cherokee. We chose the 6 person cabin for our group of 6 for this stay with bathroom and kitchen. It was nice to have all the things you need at your fingertips from towels to body wash. It was cramped sleeping for us. The smaller cabins with the set of bunck beds works best for our family. The pool was pretty murky a swell as the hot tub( I think because there were alot of people)

Great stay very relaxing has a lot of things for the children to do.

We normally don't have an issue ever and this time there were people flying up and down the roads on electric bikes and dirt bike type things, hot tub was dirty and didn't turn on, and indoor pool wasn't warm. In our bathroom(women's) one of the stalls was without toilet paper for 2 days. also wish the beds weren't so hard.Although this experience wasn't as good as normal, I hope next stays better

A lot of the things for kids to do didn’t get turned on till after 12 o’clock and the constant dog barking all day was annoying. First time I’ve ever been here and things wasn’t done like they normally are. Hopefully KOA will do better when we come back memorial Day weekend.

We were setup in a vee site that was not accommodating: 1) barely long enough for towed 2) too close to neighbor 3) did not allow us to make the turn to get out and we creatively exited our site instead. Showers had mold. Staff only waved hello if you did first. Access road a bit narrow for big rig. There were plenty of other like type sites available that were open. Was not treated like a VIP

The kids enjoyed the pool and jump pad. We loved the location. Bathrooms were clean. Will stay here again. Had a great time.

We have stayed in plenty of campgrounds before, but never KOA. From now on, we will be using KOA on all of our trips.

Everything was wonderful! We rented a cute little cabin for a night, and couldn't have asked for more! It was right by bathrooms and had easy in and out access for the truck! All the facilities were well kept up, amenities were a great surprise, and staff was all so kind and helpful! Cannot wait to book our next trip here.

One problem show up on my stay. I had to go tell the lady's on duty about one of the bathrooms. And I I try to call the phone number to get in campus assistance to report the problem. But all I got was a run around. Otherwise I enjoyed camping and the Great Smokies KOA at Cherokee. I do it about two times a year

We were assigned a campsite that was a walkway for other campers going to the bathhouse. We had zero privacy. The adjoining campsites were extremely close as well. The bathrooms were unkept and many of the toilets were out of order. This campground is not the same as years past. Sorry to say it's getting worse.

We were supposed to stay for 3 nights but only stayed 1. The pool was closed for a while (which was the main reason we chose this campground) although it did open back up(after we had left) the main reason we won't be back was because of the sewage backup that started seeping into our site area(as well as the smell), it was awful. Do not recommend.

Dogs barking the whole week because owners left them at camp. And had to smell people smoking weed all week. All day long. Campground nice if it wasn’t for dogs barking and dope heads

Beautiful place to stay. Might need to have a speed limit for the e-bikes. Walking around the campground we almost got hit by a couple of the e-bikes

If you have kids, this would be a great place to stay. Plenty for them to do. Campground appeared to be well maintained.

Our cabin number 228 had a persistent foul smell in the living room around the sink area. One chair had thick sticky stuff on it and there was what looked like spaghetti sauce on a wall. The corner by the table had dirt and hair in it. We had to buy some room air freshener to cover up the oder. The cabin needs a good cleaning.

This was the PERFECT Smoky Mtn getaway! Being on the south side of the park meant needing to drive back thru for most things, but it was so worth it to be in a quiet town and a fun campground. The amenities were awesome and our cabin was great. The only (very minor) bummer was the hours for the office. 9-5 meant we never made it up there since we got out early and got in after that every day we were there.

This is my favorite camping spot when we go to Cherokee and the Smokey mountain area! It's a little further north from the main town part of Cherokee but it's nice and peaceful! Theres a river around the campground and it's nice to go and explore! The rv spots are nice and spacious with most having a small lawn area with room for chairs and such! There's also a few extra things like a small playground, bounce pillow, and a pool! Unfortunately last time when I went the pool was down for maintenance but it was definitely cold enough to not want to swim anyway! The koa is in nice distance of the Smokey mountains and a few other waterfalls!

Been coming to this location since I was a kid. Changed a lot but for the better and love it. Definitely will be coming back and bring friends to enjoy the experience. **make sure the cabin cleaners make sure everything is clean. Animal hair all in the pulpit couch sheets, windows dirty** cabin 228**
