Up until this past stay, KOA has been Great. However this time was not as expected. Cabin 502 has several things in--operable: Refridgerator does not work, both ceiling fans do not work. Bathroom heater broken. Other than that... no issues

I have been camping for 40 years at this campground. Usually in my camper. This was a short get away for fishing and relaxing,so we decided to stay in cabin. Just wanted to let management know of concerning issues for safety of other campers. Have electricians check cabin. Kept throwing breaker. Smell of propane strong in mornings. Also, need to spray cabin. Roaches in kitchen in early morning.

We love this campground. We love the location and staff. I recently had major back surgery. We chose to come to Cherokee as a get away to soak in the hot tub along with walking. We were disappointed to find the hot tub jets had been broken since fall 2025. The water was barely above bath temp. We love this place and will be back, but a notice of the of the outage like the fishing would’ve been n

We love the Cherokee KOA. We have stayed here numerous times either in our motorhome or by renting a cabin by the river. We rate the KOA an A+ We rate the staff and A+ We rate the sites an A+ We rate the cabin an A+ We highly recommend this KOA to everyone.

I arrived just a few minutes after closing (off season), yet a team member saw and met up with me and took care of all my needs 100%. Location was 100% clean and accommodating. Bathrooms etc. were 100% clean, although I dislike the motion activated lighting, which shut off periodically if i wasn't moving around. Security was uncomfortable.

Didn’t know about the sites with the pet fence, but when we found out the price it didn’t matter anyway. But, our stay was great!

Hot tub broke. Only got hot, no jets. Was here back in December, and it wasn’t working either.. no tv.. ? Why? Always had it before. Still like coming here, but it could be better

Hot tubs were not working which is a big draw for us to stay here over other spots; it was not posted on the website that the hot tub would not be working.

We had a wonderfully relaxing time. The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, we were even allowed to check in a bit early. I love this KOA.

I always enjoy my trip to KOA Great Smoky mountain. The retail store appears fresh and nicely appointed. Camping store and check in area was inviting. Staff were friendly and engaging, and were well trained and capable. My reserved cabin #251 had obviously suffered extensive storm damage that was as yet un repaired. Great trip. Will look forward to returning.

This is my second stay at this location for an annual fishing trip and I booked next year's stay before I left this time. It is a great, well maintained property with cheerful staff.

Only thing that bothered me was when I pulled the bed out of the couch, the mattress cover was covered in dirt/leaves. Like it wasnt changed after last visit. So I slept on top of the sheet that I should have been under, because there was no fitted sheet for the mattress either. Only blanket I had was the brown one. Luckily it wasnt too cold and I had enough warm clothes to sleep ok

Great, lovely view from the cabin of a river and mountains in the back ground. Only thing that was a problem is the bathrooms any got cleaned once while we were there but other than that it was fantastic!

Enjoyed the cabin. Staff was nice and friendly. Fishing was about as poor as I have ever seen it. Nobody I talked to was catching anything. I have been coming to Cherokee many years fishing and it doesn’t seem they are stocking very good. I expected the streams to be well stocked being the ponds are closed. Maybe it will be better later in the spring.

The woman's water in the showers was cold. The pool wasn't open when it was supposed to be. My son woke up to bites all over his body after staying in a cabin.

I love staying here normally. Usually no complaints this time the first night the heat froze up the cabin was freezing. The windows were nasty inside and out. Definitely needed a little more attention than it got was disappointing for sure.

conveniently located in Cherokee. arrived at 9 pm left early the next AM to hike in the National Park so really didn't use any services provided by the campground. I am looking forward to staying here again in season and seeing what the Cherokee KOA has to offer. One minor thing is I wished you had marked on the map which restrooms were open for the winter since I arrived after hours. Thank you

Ice storm was threatening so the KOA staff put me in a "safe" cabin for my stay. BRAVO!! Even my cat was pleased with the wonderful pet-friendly amenities.

Booking and check in was simple. We stayed during a snow storm and received several very helpful text messages on reference to what to do to avoid freezing pipes and everything to keep us safe. We opted to stay another day to assure safe travel and was given 30% off. Everyone was VERY friendly and helpful. It was a pleasure when it could have been ugly due to the weather conditions

Great location,amenities,staff. Cherokee is a cute town the KOA being just outside the town and the entrance to The Great Smoky Mountains was perfect. We would definitely stay again.

The staff were great, had the heat turned on in my cabin and offered to bring heaters if I needed. Could not ask for better place to stay , very clean.

Me and my wife drive up for a Snow weekend quick trip! Snowed about 3 inches over night the first night we were there! Had a blast! Can’t wait to go back!

This was the PERFECT Smoky Mtn getaway! Being on the south side of the park meant needing to drive back thru for most things, but it was so worth it to be in a quiet town and a fun campground. The amenities were awesome and our cabin was great. The only (very minor) bummer was the hours for the office. 9-5 meant we never made it up there since we got out early and got in after that every day we were there.

This is my favorite camping spot when we go to Cherokee and the Smokey mountain area! It's a little further north from the main town part of Cherokee but it's nice and peaceful! Theres a river around the campground and it's nice to go and explore! The rv spots are nice and spacious with most having a small lawn area with room for chairs and such! There's also a few extra things like a small playground, bounce pillow, and a pool! Unfortunately last time when I went the pool was down for maintenance but it was definitely cold enough to not want to swim anyway! The koa is in nice distance of the Smokey mountains and a few other waterfalls!

Been coming to this location since I was a kid. Changed a lot but for the better and love it. Definitely will be coming back and bring friends to enjoy the experience. **make sure the cabin cleaners make sure everything is clean. Animal hair all in the pulpit couch sheets, windows dirty** cabin 228**
