we loved the campground and the staff. the campground and all the amenities were super clean and taken care of, the bathhouses were super nice. the pool and cafe were amazing. my only complaint and its no fault of KOA but our camp neighbors were super weird didn't understand boundaries and turned what would've been an amazing experience in to a bit of an uncomfortable weekend.

It was a quick trip, had a few days off, and it couldn’t have been better. The campground has everything you’d want. It’s clean, great amenities, secluded but not hard to get to, and a friendly staff. It’s also a very nice size so finding a spot last-minute was relatively easy. I’d totally recommend it to anyone wanting to cone to this area.

The 2 cabins i had rented were ok. The issue was the grass outside. It was very unkempt had not been mowed. Very disappointed with the landscape aspect of the campground.

The only reason is it was very unkempt this time. Our site had been mowed but was laying in chunks of grass. I had to borrow a rake from staff it was bad. Both my sisters site had not been mowed over ankle high. We had to weed eat it ourselves. Very disappointed in maintenance. Otherwise it was a good stay. A little pricey.

The cabin was dirty with pet hairs on the floor. The bunk beds' frames were all caved in making it uncomfortable to lay on the beds. The pool had excessive amounts of chlorine make it uncomfortable to be in the water for long and causing skin irritation.

Enjoyed our stay, staff was nice and helpful. Bath houses could use a little more cleaning. Someone used the bathroom (#2) on a walkway in between the bathrooms and it sat there till it dried up.

The hitting was never even warm, the main bathroom in the back was closed so very few showers that were always full. The bathrooms that were open smelled like they had been mopped with a sour mop, they stunk so bad it was sickening and this was at 9am.

I am so appreciative of KOA Cherokee, I love you so much...My kiddo always have a good time. The jacuzzi was out of order all day Friday but that's okay nobodies perfect 100 percent of the time. Thank you.

We had a great time at Cherokee KOA! The cabins were exactly as we expected with only 1 problem with the grill not lighting both burners and after reporting it they were very fast at fixing the problem. All koa employees were very helpful and very pleasant and did their jobs energetically. If they don't answer the phone leave your name and number and they really will call you back asap. A+

A really good place to stay - just wish the bathroom/showers were cleaner. They always feel a bit gross like they could use more consistent cleaning. The rest of the campground is great and its proximity to the Smokies is outstanding.

Disappointing that a lot of the stuff wasn’t available. We were there Sunday to Friday and not once was the train ride open or arts and crafts. We also had ants and a mouse in our cabin.

The camp staff is nice and helpful. They are clearly understaffed, though. Broken hot tub. Murky, dirty pool, cleaned once before opening, no skimming during the day. Bathhouse near us didn't get cleaned for the first two days we were there. Cabin was infested with ants and dirty. Despite all this, we love this place and recommend it. It's a tarnished treasure that needs more staff to shine.

The stay was wonderful! We’ve come to this campground every year for over 30 years. It’s our home away from home. :) The only reason I took a star away is because they decided to close bath house 3 for remodeling the day before we checked out. I do not like using the outside bathrooms since they’re usually stinky and gross. Why couldn’t you do this in the winter??? We love the campground,

Had a great week at Cherokee koa with the grandkids. Pool and hot tub were nice. They absolutely loved floating down the river in the campground. It would be nice to have an exit area from the river down near the pool. There’s a couple places people have been using that worked out good, on either side of the deck to the right of the pool. Looking forward to our next visit.

We arrived to tent camp and were told that we would have to relocate because there were still campers at the site we reserved. We got moved to a different location and it was a rainy couple days and we ended up in a muddy mess. The whole area was mud. We were given a free night because of the mess up. The campground over all is decent and a nice location. And the staff are very nice.

Stayed at a premium pet site at over $100 a night..Grass was unkept(tall)..Speed limit in rv park is 5 mph..Adults and children traveling on scooters and golf carts at a much unsafe speed..

This is a typical KOA with the amenities. There were a lot of campers, making it a bit crowded. However, on our last day it was raining and the septic hook up by our site was overflowing so we could not dump our campers black or gray water. The camp staff said this happens when it rains and refused to refund us even though we paid for full hook ups and could not use the septic at our site.

Started out on the cheapest rv site but quickly decided to upgrade to the concrete pad with patio/table/umbrelka/firepit. We loved it and will be back. So much to do in the area.

The hard set rule of check in at 4:00 is ridiculous. Especially when the cabin was empty the night before. Everyone in our large group had the same issue. We had to wait 4 hours to unpack out truck and go to the grocery store. The first day is almost a complete waste.

We love staying at the KOA Cherokee location for the extras they offer my child. But the cabin conditions have declined. For what we pay to stay there i was disappointed in the cleaniness of the cabin and minor things like our bedroom blinds being broke. (we had to hang a towel over the window just to get dressed in privacy) . 4 person cabin was stocked with 2 towels instead of 4 i could go on .

It was extremely loud with kids riding scooters and screaming till midnight. The pool was also very murky. I’m not sure if it was so wild because of the trout competition but it was a lot. Otherwise there was a lot of activities for kids.

we were pleased, the only thing I noticed was the ceiling fan in the living space needed dusting, other than that all was well. Very nice and helpful staff. Very impressed with the linens and towels.

I was told I could have 2 tents, to then be told I can't. I was told an employee must have had bad info. but somehow that is our fault so we had to tear down our site and move. Then we get back at 8pm after exploring, ready to cook dinner to find out an employee took our table from our site (a neighbor said). So we have nowhere to sit or put the stove, and the office is closed. Not Acceptable!

Cabin was great and right beside the ponds! We had an issue with a loud truck in cabin beside us and they promptly took care of that. I really wished the indoor pool was open and that was missed. Maybe some live music would be cool also! Everyone was very friendly. Showers and bathrooms were clean except for one shower that had a used feminine product in it ..gross..overall an awesome stay!!

Food needs more options other than pizza, no breakfast at all!! The hot tub does not work and when you turn it on it doesnt blow water put, when mentioned to staff its oh yeah we know...??!! I like the remodel but needs a few adjustments

Great stay would prefer some tent sites away from road noise we were in site 41 and there was alot of noise all night long. I love the back site alone river but I didnt see any tent sites only cabins .

Lots of stuff to do but the spot we were in was just ok. My friends had a cheaper spot and it was way nicer than our spot. We were right by the entrance to the fishing pond so it wreaked of fish guts the whole time. I wish there were maybe a couple more bath houses. Not a terribly long walk but not exactly close either. I would go back but don’t waste your money on a nicer spot.

We’ve been staying here for a week every summer for almost a decade. This was the first year we’ve seen the grounds in such poor shape. Grass was several inches tall in most spots and the back bath house seemed dirty all week, like they were only replacing toilet paper and getting trash. We love the campground and will return, we were just surprised at the lack of maintenance. Could need more

Very clean KOA. The staff was very helpful. The river was amazing for the kids. If you love water but didnt want to jump in the river you had a beautiful pool and large hot tub. They do close at dusk. This was an all around great family stay.

This was probably one of the most disappointing family vacations I have ever been on the campsite was not clean. The pool was mucky and so much chlorine in it. It was disgusting the amenity hours, including the store. The café were unrealistic. They said that they did events for kids. I don’t know when we barely seen the little trolley running that took the kids around ants in the cabin

Really enjoy the quiet setting. Close to town for shopping and groceries. Tons of things for kids to do. Convenience store open 9-5 if needed

This place is great our cabin was clean and neat.(except for the stink bugs) Plenty of places to fish if you want to Always someone doing something to keep the camp ground clean
