There have been thousands of mosquitoes and we were hardly able to stay outside the tent. After one night we had to break up the camp.

I believe you will find the mosquitoes to be horrible all over South Dakota, this year. We appreciate your visit with us and hope you will return when we have not come off of a 5 year drought which has brought the mosquitoes out in full force.

The grounds were well kept up, bathrooms, showers, and laundry area were nice and clean. It was nice having a store at the office as well.

Flies. Everywhere. Cook dinner and you will have 20 flies on your kitchen table immediately - July 23

We appreciate you comments on the flies, we have been fogging and spraying for flies and mosquitoes. We are loosing the battle with them because of all the rain in the area this spring and summer, as I am sure you noticed the standing water along the road before you even get to the KOA.

Although the campground itself was nice, with plenty of space to spread out, the mosquitos were the worst I have ever encountered in my camping experience. The information sheet indicates the campground sprays, but if this is accurate, I would hate to see what it was like without this. in 2 nights, my son received almost 40 bites, and I more than a dozen, despite spraying ourselves profusely.

The staff was great. Everything was clean. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is the mosquitoes. They were horrible.

I enjoyed the convenient location. I did not like that there are so many mosquitoes though! They sprayed the day I was leaving, wish this was more regular. The bathroom set-up isn't the best as the shower/toilet is all one room and only allows one person at a time. I also miss the free pancakes they offered before which is part of why I went back. Can't even eat without flies attacking you.

This campground is great. Clean bathrooms. very peaceful, fun pool. The only deterrent is the mosquitos!! I would bring all the repellent in the world, citronella candles, etc. Anything you can think of to fight the flies and mosquitos, bring. Also, stop at a grocery store before you get to the Badlands as the options close by are a bit lackluster.

Great Staff. Dealt with a site issue quickly, pleasantly and were just Super! And, the Food "Truck" is Great!

The campground was beautiful, site was level and very friendly staff. The only issue at all was not being able to enjoy the beautiful evening because of the constant mosquitoes everywhere and sprays, bracelets, etc. didn’t help.

We love the Badlands KOA! Everyone is so helpful, whether it's delivering wood or ice (glad to hear you're getting a new wood supplier) or helping to jumpstart my car! And the cook shack is great!

Neat and clean. Staff very helpful and friendly. Sites are roomy. Close to all activities. Only downfall was flys and mosquitoes, not their fault, they do spray. Just bring bud spray and you will be fine.

Everything was great except the site I was assigned had a sewer connection that was too high. The staff the food and the site was perfect.

Site was good for our 20ft trailer and felt like we had enough space between neighbors. Restrooms and laundry room close to our site were very clean. Staff was very friendly. Flys & mosquitoes were very active when we stayed in August. Easy access to Badlands NP.

Stayed in the tent area. Nice trees, used the pool to cool off. Host very nice and came back to give me $1 change from my firewood purchase. Quiet, except when some late arrivers came around 11 pm and decided the whole campground needed to hear their family argument. Wish the host could of done a midnight run through the grounds to enforce quiet hours.

I understand your frustration with late arrivals, we remind everyone that is a late arrival, to be respectful of fellow campers. We will look into doing a late night ride through the campground.

Check in employee was beyond helpful and organized. She gave great information, and made sure we were comfortable. I appreciated the family movie night as there was a thunderstorm and limited our outdoor activity. The movie was a nice change in pace. The lady who helped serve popcorn during that time was incredibly hospitable and friendly. My kids could not get over how nice she was.

The staff were SO NICE!! And it was nice to have food to purchase. I was just a little bummed about the state of the shower building and my tent site. There was almost no place without ants, and the showers were not kept up well. But with the activities and other amenities, it helped make up for it.

It was the a same day last minute reservation so it wasn’t the best location in the park. But we were grateful that they had a place for us.

Thanks for the review, the site you were one is one of our newest, it has only been open a few weeks, and just for folks that come last minute. It is long and easy to get in and out of.

The KOA was very nice,clean and the staff was friendly. However the mosquitoes and other bugs were awful. The KOA did spray twice while we were there for bugs. I know this is not their fault, it is nature. If you are like me and attract mosquitoes it is nice to know you won't be sitting outside.

I really like this KOA, needs some improvements. Water leaked through the AC in the Kabin. A 4 ft puddle w/ electric cords and connections in the puddle. If someone slipped or got electrocuted I'm sure there would have been a lawsuit. Had to clean it up ourselves. no towels for shower next morning. Told the front desk, they just responded "oh well". Didn't even offer to pay for cleaning towels.

Nice park. Everything functioning. Clean and well maintained. Bring lots of mosquito repellent. The fogging is helpful but I had lots and lots of bites .

Thanks for the review. We do try to keep the mosquitoes to a minimum, but they are very active with all the rain we have had, along with the White River on one side and Lost Dog Creek on the other side. We do try!

We stayed for a week and it was great! It would have been a 5 star but the mosquitoes were atrocious. The campground was fogged for insects 3 times during our stay to what seemed very little effect. Also the wood purchased from the store was so wet I couldn't get it lit for over 2 days. Despite all this we still had a great time!

Great place. Clean, attentive, nice size tent shaded sites. Close to the park entrance. Would suggest checking out a grocery for food and camp needs before settlng in. Insects were a problem but Kudos for trying to keep the insects at a minimum. Highly recommend.

The site was great ,the people there where so nice and helpful. The bingo night was great . The view was fantastic. Love it all around. Would go again.

I absolutely loved this nice little park. We didn't use the amenities because we came to visit the Badlands. We spent several days sightseeing the park and it was very much worth the time and money to stay here. Everyone we met was super friendly and welcoming! Grant it, I'm writing this review a year later, but it's still fresh in my memory! Thank you for such a wonderful site and a great vacation spot!

Wow! We arrived late and so happy to find a beautiful site. Very clean, quiet campground. Highly recommend if visiting the Badlands area. We spent 3 days and it was a great experience. Highly recommend the breakfast pancakes!
