The campground was clean and the staff friendly, but they didn't tell us they had a sewer problem and the smell was horrible so you couldn't be outside and the pool was so cloudy it didn't look good.

We didn't spend much time at the campground, but the staff was friendly and the campsites were nice. We had a nice tree beside our camper which helped with the tremendous heat that this area gets.

No issues. Rarely had to wait for the bathroom. Shower was hot. No noise problems. Would stay here again.

Tent camped 3 nights in the community camp - personal sink and power. We were very comfortable, facilities were clean and staff was super nice! Loved the breakfast of pancakes and sausage! Would totally return!

Very friendly, helpful and responsive. Firewood ordered, delivered immediately, etc. Bathrooms are good. The pancake breakfast was just okay. Then there was the pool. The water is very "murky/cloudy", you cannot see the bottom of the pool in deep end. Small toys thrown in to dive for in the deep end, you couldn't see them. No chlorine smell at all. Pool should be tested a couple times daily!

When I chose the site it showed trees, we were out in the direct sun, on crushed asphalt for the camper that was higher than the hard packed clay round it that had little to no drainage. TBD it looks like some kind of overflow site. When I complained I was told that they were full ... that was a lie we could see other sites that remained empty both nights.

The guy that checked me in when I got there was very nice and friendly . The spot we were given was ok but would have preferred to be on one on the outside perimeter of park instead of right smack in the middle. We were close to a campsite that I think was occupied by a worker and their dogs barked a lot. Had to wait in check in line to order food and the cook was rude. No toilet paper one day.

Location was great! Super close to Badlands NP. We stayed in a cabin and it was pretty much just a place to put our head. Cabins a/c couldn’t go below 78 degrees and even that didn’t happen. There were several holes in the floor leading to outside - giving us an uneasy feeling about mice and snakes. The pool was so dirty and cloudy … gross. Then the worst was dirty bathrooms - multiple times

Friendly staff. Good shade. Our big issue was the septic pond on the south side of the park. EXTREMELY foul order if slightest breeze blows north (just about all the time). Do not park behind the office where the pond is located. Other spots may be okay.

We stayed Wed through Sun and the only night the bathrooms looked clean and worthy of using was on Saturday night. The rest of the time they were extremely muddy, drains filled with hair, and wet. The store had very little options in the form of food. No lunch meats, hot dogs, bread, etc. We had to shop in Rapid City because the suggested Cowboy Corner had expired food. Site was great, people nice

Stayed 2 night, great staff, central to Badlands area, easy pull through site. No issues other than sites were a bit close together. Would stay again.

It was good overall. The electrical service, water and sewer hookups worked well. The pool water was an odd color and the bathrooms were not well-kept (missing soap and paper). Staff was really good overall except for the one older guy who was a bit crusty with my wife. Given the options in the area, though, it's the best place to stay.

Staffs are very friendly. The air is just frequently stink because of nearby farms (I guess). The restrooms are not clean as others (some guests might abuse them.) Swimming pool is not as clean as supposed to be.

Sites were a little too close. My fire pit was pretty close to the next site’s sewer. Got a couple of good whiffs of the smelly. Grass was pretty thin, understandable considering the environment.

Friendly staff, however the campground is in need of maintenance. Very dirty pool, putt-putt course seems to have not been maintained in years. However, the worst part was the terrible sewer smell that would not allow us to be outside in the evenings and would wake us up We stay at KOAs all the time but will not be back to this one.

Campground was fine for the badlands but almost 60 miles from the Custer state park and the needles highway. Again the campground was fine.

We were very happy with our stay @ the Badlands KOA. We wanted to swim in the pool but I don’t make a habit of going in green pool water. They vacuumed it when we were there but it was so cloudy I don’t know how they could see what they were vacuuming.

What a great KOA! We booked a tent site... loved the location. We appreciate the amenities: clean showers (thank you!!), outdoor kitchen cleanup station, dog park, grocery store that provided supplies we forgot. And the incredibly friendly and helpful hosts!

The bathroom were constantly dirty. Muddy floors, discarded towels and trash overflowing. Camp site was nice a quiet but with the bathroom like that it would be hard to recommend to stay here.

Trees need to be trimmed. A lot of dead which made it scary during the storms. Bathrooms were not cleaned. Trash cans overflowing . Not mopped.

Arrived around 7pm. First thought - “this place is packed, must be great! 2nd thought - “what is that smell”? I was sure our tank just exploded inside the RV and rushed back to check. NOPE! It was the KOA Poo Pond!! We locked ourselves inside for the night and left as early as possible. Lovey staff said they know and have received several complaints for weeks. No word from Thor whom we left

Nice and responsive staff. Mostly well maintained (some rough edges) and clean. Great dog walk. Biggest problem was a bad odor that was present through the night. Sewage issues? Probably a temporary issue.

Very enjoyable visit! Love all the extras for the kids such as peddle cars, putt putt and gem mining. However, the restrooms weren’t as nice as other KOA experiences.

We enjoyed the sound of rain with a roof over our heads. No wet tent! Lovely quiet location. Cabin truly met our needs. Friendly staff.

Smell of the septic system was a health concern, additionally they didn’t honor my request for a specific campsite - telling me they were booked while they (sites I asked for) remained vacant. Was my second visit- I won’t plan on staying there again as there are other options close by.

The site type you booked was a gravel pad site and as explained the do not exist in the area you wanted to be in. You made a request in the comments but did not use the select my site option. We were booked up at the time of your stay. A site may appear empty but the guest has a late arrival.

Very nice camp with many shaded sites. Unexpected escort to campsite, and delivery of firewood available. Propane refill for tanks and RV was a nice plus. Burgers available at night and pancakes in the morning. Short drive to The Badlands. Enjoyed our stay and can highly recommend staying with these friendly, accomodating folks.

We rented a basic camping cabin for 2 nights. Only issue the mattresses on the beds could be a bit thicker, otherwise the campfire ring and porch swing were great, water tap right by our cabin. Store had nice selection. Wings were very good and kids liked the Hunt Bros pizza.

Great location right by the badlands. Also right alongside the river. We were just passing through for the night. They serve pizza in the store. Nice little store. Spacious sites.
