This is a nice campground in a great location. Everything is super clean and the grounds staff is attentive. The ladies in the office are very friendly and helpful. We extended our stay and Jill made it so easy for us. We’ll be back!

We enjoyed our time there and are happy to help contribute to the recovery process there. We look forward to visiting again when the pool is back open and the lake camp sites are available.

Love KOA & Western NC. Hit hard by Helene Sept. 2024. Still recovering & opened on 7/10/25. Limited amenities : Pool closed, no laundry/public bathroom. Showers are available. They are working hard to get up to standards. They need your support to continue moving forward. New wi-fi was being installed when we left on 7/28. It’s a work in progress the will continue! Give them a chance!

The campground staff have done a great job rebuilding the campground after the devastation of Hurricane Helene. Our site was in the B-section and was a good size site. Hook-ups in good working order. Site staff friendly and helpful. The pool is not open yet - not an issue for us. The bathroom are in a temporary pre-fab building and are clean and well maintained. There was a coffee truck on site!

We were beyond happy and excited to see KOA East open. They have done an amazing job of reopening the campground. Our site was B14 and it was perfect. They are still rebuilding and we can’t wait to see the finished product

This campground is succeeding at an impressive recovery from Hurricane Helene. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. Campground is kept spotless. Regrowth of some landscaping between spaces will help greatly with noise and light from other campsites.

It was amazing the condition of the campsite after the flood. The staff was very helpful. The website showed pictures of the pool but never mentioned that it was closed. Overall, we will be back to that campground.

It was ok. We understand that they are still working to recover from the storms. They supposedly opened the day before we arrived, yet we previously had reservations about 3 weeks prior that we had to cancel due to our schedule, so we were charged a cancellation fee. Not sure how that works if they weren’t open yet?

Super nice staff - eager to assist guest in the office and on the shrouds. We have already booked our next time to visit and have invited one of our camping buddies to join us. Even though the campground has a long way to go to return from the hurricane damage, everyone is working hard to make it happen.

The Asheville KOA was destroyed by the hurricane. They reopened 2 days before we arrived and despite the challenges, they were wonderful. The staff worked hard to please. We hope to return when things improve.

People beating on our door Saturday night got ready to leave. Missing the pins out of my flat coat thank goodness I had extras called the night host left a message never returned my call or did the office the next day.

We have stayed at a few KOA's this year and this was the roughest one. I understand that they were hit hard and are rebuilding. They have a ways to go. We stayed in A2 spot, which was a back in and disconnect spot. If there were people across from us, there was no way I was backing in. The entire campground is really tight. The view of the river was really nice.

Campsites seemed a little closer than I remember them being, but I used to stay back by the lake. Backing was tight and a pipe sticking out of the ground made backing difficult. Wasn't tracking no Wi-Fi. Otherwise peaceful and friendly staff. It's close to home and has always proven a nice getaway for a short weekend. I look forward to returning.

I understand it was hit by the hurricane but that should have been stated before we booked. The sites were mud. Trash bins and dumpsters were no where to be found. The shower house was a portable trailer that smelled bad and was so dirty. My family decided to skip showering because it was so gross. Hopefully it will get fixed back up. I just wish we knew what to expect before we got there.

Very nice KOA with the beautiful creek running through it and the lake/pond. The help were all very nice and the restrooms & showers were clean.

Just weeks sfter we stayed Hurricane Helene flooded the campground. I hope everyone is safe. I aldo hope the campground can come back.

At 3 am Thursday morning we had a knock on the door to evacuate because Helene was causing the river to flood everything around us. That knock on the door saved our lives. It did take us 48 hours to get home but we are here to say thank you to your team and everything they did to keep us informed during this situation. We learned a couple of days later that the park was wiped out from Helene.

Chris the GM was the most horrible person I’ve ever met would not help, after the hurricane devastation. Yelled at us and said he was not Jesus Christ and he could not control the weather. All he cared about was himself and feeling Sorry for himself that he lost his home like we all did. This campground is delightful. Quiet!!! And spread out. Beautiful lakes and a river running right through it. No golf carts with boom boxes cruising around at night!!! Great for morning walks with the dogs around the lakes. And the staff were friendly and very helpful. We will definitely be back. Waking up to the early morning sun coming up on the lake was just wonderful.

Our rv spot was actually very nice with patio, fire pit and nice outdoor furniture! However, the pot they put us in was not long enough for our truck to be parked at our spot for any amount of time!! We constantly got harassed about moving our vehicle mainly by Jerry! I’m thinking it was his tone that didn’t sit well with me about moving our vehicle ASAP!!

Perfect spot for a campground. Rebuilding nicely after Helene. The staff we met and spoke with throughout the stay were super nice and helpful. I will definitely be returning to this campground.

So happy to see Asheville coming back! The KOA East was clean and accessible. The staff were all super kind! Shout out to Andy and Lisa! New shower/bathrooms were great! Laundry room was clean and great folding areas! Look forward to our next visit!
