Very nice campground. Making great progress since Helene destroyed it. Thanks KOA for bringing back our favorite campground.

We had a great time at the Asheville East KOA. Great staff and wonderful location.

We stayed at site A13 which had no shade. Other sites nearby had shade and would be a better choice for summer stays. Camp ground is kids friendly and has nice creek for kids to play in. I was glad to hear they are planning on adding more sites back. WiFi was good enough to stream TV.

The overall stay was amazing. Although there was confusion with our reservation, the staff was able to accommodate an additional night, which prevented a rush departure. This was our first trip in our first ever camper and Asheville East KOA made it memorable. The staff were tremendous and the campground accommodations were nice. The only issue was that the A/C went out in the bath house.

Fantastic place and excellent, friendly staff. Very impressed. Will definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place near Asheville.

Nice, well maintained park. Site was a little on the smaller side but adequate. Good kampk9. Only complaint was low water pressure at the site. (Same complaint for a lot of campgrounds.) Waterpressure at 40# would be great.

Exceptional stay. The rebuild after the hurricane is impressive—full resort-level property. Staff was outstanding, constantly helping campers. Our riverside site was perfect, pool great for kids, bathhouses spotless, wifi worked. Close to Black Mountain, Asheville, Mount Mitchell. One of the best KOAs we’ve experienced. Highly recommend.

First time there and it was ok, i don't think it was worth the money. Went to the pool and the pump wasn't on, a lot of leaves and stuff floating in the water. The flood done a lot of damage and looks like it will be a long time before anything is done. The staff was great, the facilities just weren't what I expected.

Great view, everyone was very helpful and friendly. We had a site on river and the view was perfect.

Great location as a base for exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway. Campground was clean and well maintained. Management was quite pleasant.

campsite was really nice and roomy, obviously miss the old campground that was before the flood, but overall still great. However the new bathhouse had ac units but they never ran, taking baths was pretty rough with no air flow.

This was a very nice smaller KOA, very clean, quiet, friendly management and workers.thw sites were easy to get into and decent room.

Very nice campground.

Lovely campground in a great location - close to Asheville and Black Mountain. While all but destroyed during Hurricane Helene, KOA staff are doing a great job bringing it back. New laundry & shower rooms. Lovely pool area. We can’t wait to see all the renovations that are yet to come.

BEST CAMPGROUND EVER!

This is our favorite campground, hands down! Best staff, best facilities, best activities!

Post hurricane Helene: continual improvements and upgrades. Team highly motivated, friendly, and ultra helpful. Amenities being repaired and brought online. Definitely will return.

Great people need a lot of work on the campground! More riding around in golf carts instead of doing something to beautify the park!

Great place. Staff is friendly and the place is very clean. Staff was going around wiping down the picnic tables at the vacant sites. Close to the Asheville attractions. I recommend going into the Village of Black Mountain about 5 minutes away. Great little area is shops and restaurants.

It’s so great to see the investment in bringing back this campground after Hurricane Helene! We loved our riverfront site. That river access is special!!!! Who needs a pool with the river? It has deeper spots and shallow spots - mountain perfection! The staff were lovely and welcoming! The road noise some comment on is what it is! The benefits of the camp and the river way outweigh road n

This KOA was great. A ton of activities for all. Communication of the activities were great and convenient by text. Christy was awesome at the front office/store. Andy was also great took the time to talk to me and gave some excellent recommendations for the area. Will definitely visit again!

Remarkable comeback after the flood. The staff is exceptional, the sites even better than before and everyone is having a great time. Can't wait to see the next phase of renewal. One of the best I have visited.

Very very nice people, level sites and they have recovered nicely, the pool just got filled when we were there so to cold yet and yes bit of road noise but if you camp your used to it

Was not told upon reservation that the pool was closed and apparently has been closed for some time. Also 95% of the camp spots on the B side is not shaded and it was pretty brutal to be exposed to heat the whole time and have no pool to get into. Fishing at the lake was still available but it was completely over grown

Had a great stay! We'll definitely be back!

We really enjoyed our stay. It was our first time staying here and the staff was awesome. The amount of work that they are doing after the hurricane is amazing we really hope they can get it back close to what it was. We look forward to staying again soon.

The staff were very friendly, helpful, and attentive. My kids loved the activities and they jump pad. The bathrooms and other facilities were clean. Will definitely be staying here again.

Very clean and level sites. Over the air channels were from Charlotte. Park quite full, so reservations highly suggested. Easy to get to, quiet location for a good nights sleep. They are expanding another area that hurricane Helene damaged, so will be even more sites in the future. Will definitely stay here again.

I’ve explored the area and this is a the nicest campground in Asheville - very clean and tidy with easy access. They are doing an amazing job of rebuilding after the hurricane Helene. The staff is great. The office is very accommodating and the people who maintain the park are vigilant. We held an RVing Women rally here - about 24 of us - and everyone really enjoyed their stay.

Stayed for a week. Very friendly staff. Shout out to Andy! Someone had ran over our sewer pipe and Andy fixed it asap. Clean bathrooms.

I really enjoyed my stay here, this is the nicest KOA I’ve stayed in!!

We love this KOA! We've come here for years. The setting is just beautiful with the river running through it. The sites are well maintained. It was hit hard by Hurricane Helene but they have made great strides to bring it back. New showers and bathrooms, great laundry facilities, updated pool area, Our grandkids love the jumping pad. And the staff is great. Looking forward to our next trip back!

It is amazing what hard work and dedication has been done to bring this campground back for people to enjoy again. I cannot say enough good things about the staff at this campground for all their hard work. Don't stay away folks, there is a lot going on here for parents and children to enjoy thanks to the manager, Lisa and her staff. The pool has been completely cleaned and painted, opening soon.

First time visitors to this KOA. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Campground sites have been redone since Hurricane Helene. What has been redone is very nice! Very reasonable pricing. Not far from Asheville area attractions!

The campground has done a wonderful job of rebuilding. Our site was perfect and the staff was extremely helpful. Our group, the Southeast chapter of RVing Women, had a wonderful long weekend at the campground. They have even put in two sewer holes at the new campsites for rigs that have more than one sewer pipe or just to be more convenient. I only wish the pool had been open. Next time!

We enjoyed the area and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Appears they have worked extremely hard in getting the park partially open and functional. While the site was in a beautiful location with the river running behind us, the site was not level front to back, or side to side. Side to side was 3.5 inches difference, and front to back more. Lots of dogs in the park barking.

Very good communication from the staff and friendly. Site was outstanding. Had a back-in site and it was simple to get in and out with 40' 5th wheel.

One of the best KOA stays we've had. The rebuild after the hurricane is impressive, full resort-level property, not just a patch job. Great location too, close to Black Mountain for shopping and food, Asheville nearby, and an easy trip to Mount Mitchell. Our site backed up to the river, which made the stay. Great view, hammock out, dinner by the water most nights. Pool was a hit with our kids, playground is new, bathhouses were always clean, and wifi actually worked well for a campground. Staff was constantly out helping campers and keeping things running smoothly. Would put this near the top of any KOA in the country. We'll be back.

We just wrapped up a stay at the KOA east of Asheville and it's one of the best campground experiences we've had. The rebuild after the hurricane is impressive. What they've brought back is a full resort-level property, not just a basic patch job. The pool was a highlight for our kids, the playground is new and well thought out, and the bathhouses were clean every time we used them. Wifi was solid the whole stay, which isn't something I usually say about campground internet. Our site happened to back up to the river, and it made the stay. We had a great view of the water, set up a hammock, and ate dinner by the river most nights. If you can get a site backing up to the river, do it. Nearby Activities: Black Mountain is a short drive and has good shopping and restaurants if you want a break from the campsite. Asheville is close as well, with even more food and shopping. We also drove out to Mount Mitchell, the highest point east of the Mississippi, for an easy day trip from the campground. What stood out most was the staff. They were constantly working, helping campers check in, and keeping the property running smoothly. Whatever they're doing to build that team, it's working. We'd put this near the top of any KOA in the country and will be back.
