Last month, just for fun, we reviewed a polycarbonate, unbreakable “camping” wine glass. It was the most viewed story on KOA’s “The Greater Outdoors” blog in February.
So, this month we decided to cater to our outdoor wine lovers again by going a bit high tech with the Waterfall Wine Chiller© by Urban Trend.
That’s right. Now you can have perfectly chilled wine, right at your campsite for sipping around the fire. Camping purists will scoff at the idea of an electric wine chiller for camping. We get that. But the beauty of camping — especially at KOA — is that you get to design your camping experience “just the way you want it.”
If that means you prefer to “rough it” to experience your Great Outdoors… we can help you there, too. But if you like to take a few luxuries (like chilled wine) into your outdoor experience… keep reading.
The Urban Trend Waterfall Wine Chiller© isn’t much bigger than the bottle. All you need is a few ice cubes from the cooler and about a cup of water. Plug in the Chiller, and the quiet electric motor spins the wine bottle as it circulates the water through the ice. Your bottle is bathed in the cooled water until it reaches the perfect drinking temperature.
The magic doesn’t stop there. The Chiller includes five “temperature pre-sets” to ensure each bottle reaches the perfect temp, be it sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, champagne, pinot noir or cabernet. The digital readout on the front of the Chiller tells you when your wine is ready, and the machine will shut off automatically when the perfect “wine time” arrives.
The entire unit acts as an ice bucket to keep the wine just right, thanks to the cubes you added earlier. Urban Trend says the Waterfall Wine Chiller© beats other rapid wine chillers on the market that can “shock” the wine.
The entire unit won’t take up much more space in your RV than a wine bottle, and it works just as advertised. Cleanup is easy. Just pour out the water and leftover ice and wipe it out when you’re done.
