Buckskin Joe Park and Railway

Board the Royal Gorge Scenic Railway for a 3 mile, 30 minute ride to the rim of the Royal Gorge. Sometimes you’ll be greeted by a friendly deer or chipmunk as you wind your way through pinons and pines toward a breathtaking view. For a great selection of Royal Gorge curios and tee shirts, stop in the Depot Gift Shop. And don’t miss the antique car and train museum for a look at travel as it was.

Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine

Take this Goldmine Tour 1000 feet underground. This tour is designed for all ages. No steps, ladder or climbing involved. You will enjoy the slow walking pace. You will receive a real gold ore specimen containing actual “Gold”. Open daily at 9 a.m. for tours.

Bishop’s Castle

A three-story medieval-type castle being constructed by Jim Bishop. It is complete with buttresses and decorated with ornamental iron. It is located in the forest between Wetmore and Colorado City. There is no admission charge, but donations are accepted. A gift shop is located in part of the home of the builder. It can be reached by taking Colorado Highway 67 from Florence to Wetmore, then Colorado 96 and 165.
