"Don't miss the summer weekends at Ouray’s Kreekside Kafe for a Texas Mesquite style smoked BBQ with a Blue Grass band."

Meet Your Hosts

Open May 1 - September 30

Here along the Uncompahgre River, you're at the gateway to the rugged San Juan Mountains and southwest Colorado's most majestic alpine scenery.

Here along the Uncompahgre River, you're at the gateway to the rugged San Juan Mountains and southwest Colorado's most majestic alpine scenery. We are a motorcycle friendly campground, so you can hop on your bike or rent a jeep at the campground and head for the hills to explore ghost towns and tour old mines. One of the most spectacular day trips takes you 31 miles along the winding Million Dollar Highway from Ouray to Silverton, both legendary mining towns. Take an airlift ride on the gondola in the famous town of Telluride; another fabulous day trip.

This KOA's elevation is about 7,250 feet. Take a swim in Ouray's natural hot springs pool or work out the kinks in KOA's hot tub. Kids will love the game room and playground. Be sure to stick around for some of the campground's great meals, including Texas-style barbecue dinners, complete with bluegrass music on summer weekends.

We have lots of great activities at our campground! Download our poster for a sampling of what we have to offer.

The campground industry is a perfect fit for David and Deborah who love to welcome their guests and provide them with a great vacation setting. Together, their number one goal is to take good care of people who are on vacation and help them enjoy it to its fullest.

Their 35 acres are nestled in the foothills of the San Juan Mountains in southwest Colorado, just outside the town of Ouray. The awesome scenery creates a special ambience with the sounds of a flowing creek and San Juan Mountain vistas. You can rent a jeep right here at the campground to explore old ghost towns and drive all the way up the mountain tops. Come back from your breathtaking experience and enjoy David's very own Texas Mesquite style smoked BBQ and all the fixins. Their restaurant at the campground, Creekside Cafe, offers breakfast every morning and nightly dinner.

David and Deborah love to explore the country and other countries during their time away, visiting historical sites, factories, talking to people and experimenting with food and creating recipes. They practice yoga, ride their Harley, play golf and tennis and have a strong spiritual life. They have fun in most everything they do. Work and play give them equal satisfaction, and their goal is to live well and enjoy all facets of life.
