CloseJay and Carol Coates and the Durango KOA have been chosen as KOA's 2012 Franchisee of the Year! We both are very grateful for this honor and will try even harder in the future to make our guests stays as memorable as possible.
Besides the new pool in 2010, this year we are adding six "Studio Lodges", a vegetable & composting demonstration project and other beautification details.
Before purchasing the Durango KOA Kampground, they spent 17 years in the fast-paced restaurant business. "We decided to stay in the hospitality industry, and invest in our future, but we wanted to lose the hustle and bustle of Northern Virginia," says Carol. "Durango is a beautiful place to vacation and live."
Since 1992, the Coates have been providing their campers with a very clean, well-maintained park with great service, "We take great pride in our park; we work very hard to keep it this way," says Carol.

Come join us every morning from 7 to 9 am for cooked to order pancakes and waffles. Meet other campers, share traveling adventures and enjoy a great meal at the same time!

Fresh Made Pizza
What's for dinner? Call or stop by the office and order a fresh made pizza to go. We will deliver it piping hot to your site, the pool or the nightly movie! Why go out, when we will make it to your specifications and deliver hot to your door.

Pie and Ice Cream
Stop by the main office and enjoy a slice of fresh baked pie and hand dipped ice cream with toppings. We bake pies almost everyday and we can add a scoop of ice cream to whatever pie flavor you choose. In addition, we offer sundaes with your choice of toppings and root beer floats. Check us out during your after dinner walk around the park.
