Read reviews on their Facebook page before booking. Wish we would have. This KOA is owned by a franchise and they would not honor us using $50 that we had earned with KOA points. We received no noticed that the shuttle was cancelled, which was our main reason for booking this campground. 2 room camping cabin was FILTHY, ripped curtains, and stunk like BO/urine. Bathrooms were gross!

Overall we had a pleasant experience. The cabin was not clean at all, cobwebs everywhere. The bathrooms were not well ventilated and very dingy- could use with updates. Most staff members were polite and helpful with the exception of one man. He was very rude as we came into the campground one night. He was yelling at us through the window and followed us to our cabin. Felt very unsafe & concerned

Camped with family from NY. They were treated like common criminals because they were from NY. Everyone not on the same page. Needing wrist bands for the pool ? - just awful. Acted like camping there was a privilege- we paid alot to stay in these cabins and i expected better from KOA. Will not be returning to this particular KOA.

Rented 2 deluxe cabins for 10 ppl. KL2 & KL4 (KL4 bthrm has strong bad odor & yellow stains) Checking in was easy. The camp site is nice & quite. We parked our car to unload our stuff. That is when the annoyance started with this one stuff. He just circle us around nonstop with his golf cart from then on & lecturing us like we are some 9yrs old. Harassed & stacked. 5 ppl left after 1st night.

Cabin was comfortable, but the road noise made for an unpleasant outside stay. Bathrooms were clean. The staff were not overly friendly, but I did not experience any rudeness from them.

The biggest obstacle is that the main shower house had no hot water from Monday to Friday. No one informed us of this on arrival, and it took 3 days before we knew where there was hot water on site. None of the service staff were available to answer this inquiry. When we finally did find someone to explain and redirect us, it was almost an inconvenience for them to do so.

It is nice to see so many activities for the family as a whole. Very friendly and safe atmosphere. One thing though....the nature trail is very nice but needs trimming. Thank you for a great stay.

Website advertising a shuttle that hasn’t been operational since BEFORE pandemic. That was why we picked this KOA. The lifeguard was not friendly at all and didn’t enforce all rules. The other campers and rest of staff super friendly & helpful. Their website is false advertising w/ shuttle & needs to be changed.

The 2 room/ extended deck cabin was a good value for a D.C. weekend. Though, the grandkid's room had an issue with sizeable brown bugs on the ceiling - but to be expected in the woods. The weather was soggy a good part of the time, shutting down the jump pillow , Kudos to accommodating management to inflate it early the next day so our kids could enjoy the fun before we had to leave.

The campground has the potential to be a nice campground. Earl was super nice upon check in. However, there was no lifeguard at the lake. Im sorry I meant pool but it was gross. The skinny old guy with dark hair, the worked at the koa, on the golf cart was rude. Lied to about shuttle to DC , which is why I booked the koa . After a 'interesting' trip where our popup camper broke down, the Washington DC KOA, were able to switch our water and electric reservation to a cabin and then the next day added another night. They took what could have been a HUGE disaster into an interesting (if expensive) story to share later. Could not say thank you enough!

My grandson enjoyed the bounce pillow, outdoor chess set, ping pong table and Gaga ball game. Cabin with deck was great for our puppy and dogs to hang out together. Enjoyed our stay will try to return later during the summer!

We have stayed here for the past 8 years. The cabin where we stay needs some maintenance. The kitchen table leg is about to fall off and the bathroom sink is leaking onto the bottom shelf at the base. The staff is always so pleasant.

The only reason I rated it 4 is because I don’t like the fact that some kabins were moved in the back by the woods and they don’t all have handicap ramps. Cheryl and Bob and the entire staff were absolutely wonderful. We love Capital KOA. We have been coming there all but a couple of times since 1998 for Rolling Thunder Memorial Day events in DC. Your campground was terrific. Our 6 person cabin was clean and comortable.The staff driving the golf carts and helping answer questions were excellent. We had 2 small childern in our group in another cabin. The playground and outdoor chess set were a hit.Camp Store staff were generally grumpy. Particularly Earl when we needed extra sheets and sign in he made it clear we were troubling him. Cranky

Location was great and convenient, but ... no hot water in the showers the second night, the internet was very sluggish, and the shuttle problem should either be fixed or it shouldn't be advertised. Several days before our visit, I received an email from KOA and amongst other things, it advertised the shuttle. Only at arrival did we learn that the shuttle had not be operating at all this month.

Stayed in the cabin without a bathroom. The cabin was Very clean and comfortable. Staff was outstanding!! Such a wonderful getaway for my family! Will definitely visit again and tell friends about this awesome campground!!

Our Girl Scout troop planned a trip with over 20 campers. The plan was to be completely done by 11. We were told that if we didn’t exit by 11am on the dot we would be charged an extra fee and we treated very poorly by the front staff, they were rude and we will not be back.

I enjoy staying at koa but I thought that the kampING lodge # 2 that we were given needed a lot of updating. The fridge had no racks on the door. There was debris under the bunk bed mattress. The ceiling fan in the bedroom made a loud noise when operating. The baseboard heater was falling off the wall. The cabin was not clean. 1 toilet paper for 4 adults and having to ask for a new one each day

Rented the deluxe cabin for comfort for my large family of 7 people. Plenty of space for all of us. Nice clean cabin. Slight issue with toilet leaking/not flushing but it was quickly resolved in the morning. Friendly staff. A little further from DC than I was expecting (45 mins to an hour depending on traffic) but we drove into the city twice during our stay. Overall we had a great 3 night stay!

When I called to see if I could arrive early due to plans that morning i was told yes. Upon arriving to the campground I was told my cabin wasn't ready. I spoke with the manager who wanted to charge me $50 early check in fee even though I was told by the campground i could check in early no problem. The cabin was filthy. The fridge was broken, the bedding was outdated. I hope I never stay again

We were tent camping and a storm was due the last night of our stay. The staff accommodated us by changing our reservations to a cabin. All staff was friendly and helpful with everything we needed. The playground and jump "bed" was in great shape. My 3-year-old niece had a blast and we felt safe with her playing there. Thankfully regardless of the storm, we could have a great time.

Very nice campground, we stayed on site 36 with our 35 ft. travel trailer. Very level site. The campground was very quiet compared to other campgrounds we visited. The bathrooms/showers were clean each time we used them. My husband took a shower one time and said the water was not very hot. We did not use the pool or any of the other activities available, but looked very nice. The workers we spoke to were very helpful and friendly, we arrived after the office clised but had no issues finding our site. Resturants, grocery store, gas stations only a short drive away.

This KOA is about 15 min north of Jessup. We had a great time here. I have a girl scout troop and we went camping on a rainy weekend and it was so much fun! We stayed in cabins, and they were spacious and clean. A bit musty, but what do you expect.....you're camping. The room layout was great. There was a full-size bed and two bunk beds in another room. The girls in my troop had enough room in the cabins. The bathrooms were very clean and well supplied. Even though we didn't use the showers, they were super clean. I would highly recommend KOA. This is our send stay at a KOA and it's been a great experience.
